Suddenly, the machine calling out numbers had already called her number. Daxton reminded Alice Conley, "Alice, window number 5 is calling you."
"Oh, alright!" Alice quickly prepared to walk over to window 5.
But she hadn't taken more than two steps when a hand suddenly grabbed her arm, preventing her from moving forward.
Alice turned her head, only to see Dorian Howards looking at her with a somber expression, "Are you really going to marry this guy?"
"..." How did he even know she was here to register for marriage!
Before she could explain, Daxton already said, "What, you won't marry her yourself and won't let her register with someone else either?"
"I'll marry!" These words burst out of Dorian's mouth, and after he said them, he suddenly felt a sense of relief.
In contrast, both Alice and Daxton looked utterly astonished, especially Alice, who seemed about to drop her jaw. Seriously, does he even know what he's saying?
