Before long, Daniel Harris's car arrived. Daniel walked into the store, helping Alice Conley to walk outside.
"Thank you for your help." Mabel Quinn said.
"It's no trouble at all." Daniel replied, placing Alice in the back seat. Mabel also got in the back seat and then gave Alice's home address.
"You didn't return to your rented place last night, was there something wrong?" Inside the car, Daniel asked abruptly.
Mabel was taken aback, "You went to my place yesterday too?" she asked in surprise.
"Yes, I just wanted to talk to you about the news. Don't worry, I'll help the Quinn Family handle it. But when I got there, I knocked for a long time and nobody answered. There were no lights inside, so I figured you weren't home."
What he didn't say was that he had kept vigil at her rented house's door all night until leaving this morning.
"Last night... I went to help a friend, and ended up staying overnight at my friend's place." She replied, a bit uneasy.
