Chapter 43 - Chapter 22

[Negi]

The lights illuminated that I am already sitting at the edge of my bed. Bare as the day i left my incubation pod. I looked over at the scouter to my right and noticed it wasn't flashing like it once would.

My only duty these days is managing the damn prison. No real action, just a disgusting desolate heap of weaklings aside from one potential elite warrior.

Reaching over to scratch a mysterious itch on my back I find that it's actually a scratch. I wince at the surprising pinch like pain. My tail flicks up to feel the spot, but it doesn't reveal anything more.

Taking myself off the bed I trod my feet towards the bathroom to check out this scratch on my back. Standing with my back to it I take a second to gawk at my own reflection. Lean muscles wound tightly through years of battle, various faded scars, and there it was.

A small red thin cut across one of my shoulder blades.

"Tch.. already getting soft" I growled out loud at my own softening body.

It's not like anyone could tell by looking that I've grown weak, but if those low-class homebound battle junkies can scratch me, then it has to be true.

Pressing a button to the side of the shower, the water begins to rain down from above. Stepping inside underneath the stream, the hot water washes over my body briefly stinging the scratch.

Closing my eyes and lifting my chin, the water crashing over my face. Down the tight form of my body, over the firm lines of my a*s and dripping off the tip of my tail.

Each little sting of the cut reminds me that I'll have to start pushing myself to keep my position firm. I can't go murdering those who opposed me here just because they find an opening. That'll mean accepting fights in the capital instead of Kusatta city.

Eventually I turned the water off. Drying off with a towel I get from the compartment directly across from the shower. Because the one to my left is empty. With that toy of mine acting like a guest I was going through double the amount of towels.

Walking towards the front of my home, the minimalist living room devoid of anything familial, not caring about the water dripping off my hair onto the floor. It's some material I couldn't care less about remembering and if it got messed up I could afford to have it fixed.

Approaching the window with only a towel draped over my shoulders I think about checking for the sun. Pressing the button on the side of the wall the metal curtain rises silently to reveal an unsuspecting victim. Some saiyans minding their own business and well I'm minding my own.

Well I get a kick out of that shocked double take and scoff of disgust. The woman nearly knocks her mate out as he receives a strike to the cheek. I cackled, but they surely couldn't hear it despite how loud I know I am.

Turning the other cheek with a tail flick I finish drying my body. Soon the uniform gets pulled on before deciding it's time to head out towards the prison. A habit I started picking up, making sure that her day starts with me.

I feel like I'm wasting my time and have made no progress whatsoever.

When I arrived at the prison, that familiar gravel filled backyard I suddenly remembered.

"Sh*t, Zukki isn't going to be around for the next week." I curse out loud before spotting an intriguing figure.

One of the rejects that's been spying on Zukki. He's eyeing me down. Suddenly, on a whim I decided to play around with him.

"Kid, she ain't coming back" I lied easily enough. The look on his face was evidence enough to prove how gullible he is, a down turn face immediately in just one sentence.

The smirk on my face must have been dastardly because I loved how pathetic he looked just now. Ok, I'll play with him a bit. Just until he breaks.

"Come on" I tell the runt. Then I check out his number for reference, marveling at the random genius who decided to forgo naming the scraps in this yard. Realizing it was our king's idea most likely i make a mental note to thank him later.

"456, I'll play with you for a bit" I say and roll my shoulder slowly, even looking away briefly to give him all the time in the world to make the first strike. I was excited for some anger or denial. Something painfully juicy to chew on.

Just rolling my shoulder to stall a little more, leaving myself wide open as I look away–and he's just guarding.

"Welp" I sigh, as if I expected more from one of the rejects. A kid pretty fresh even for this place.

Cocking my fist to the side, the attack was telegraphed. Still baiting the kid even as I buried my fist into his gut. He fell down and I stood over him for a second before just shaking my head and walking away.

Not flying, because I couldn't just leave. I suppose, before searching for a sparring partner in the capital, I'll check out the prisoners. It's my job now to manage them I guess.

Unable to form any enthusiasm for what I expect, my feet drag in the gravel around the long wall that made up the Building's eastern most edge.

[General Pov]

After Negi briefly toyed with number 456 she made her way around the area. It went uninterrupted for the most part.

"Your that b*tch who got in the way the other day" one randomly adult prisoner approached, his posse of several shorter saiyans slinking behind him.

"Hmm?" Negi responded with a bored sound.

A fist was slowly being thrown into her face. She could see it from a mile away, as if someone were throwing a rock by guiding it through the air all the way to its target. That target was her lips apparently.

Her sadistic instincts kicked in and rather than dodge, slip, or counter the attack, she took it head on. The fist hit her like colliding with a brick wall.

"Gyaaaa!" He cries out while holding his wrist.

The prisoner's hand was messed up, proving he put serious effort in the attack.

"Gya..what the..guys are you just gonna stand there!?" He angrily asked why his posse were just standing still.

"Oh.."

"Ahh"

"Yeah.."

The three of them snapped to attention and slowly dragged their feet forward. They knew they would regret this later on, but the pack mentality was a bit more important in the end.

Each of them found attacking the woman to be fruitless. Whatever kick or punch they threw, no matter the angle, the prisoners ended up being the ones on the floor. Hurt by their own attacks against this person they tried to antagonize.

"Good, you are done, and pathetic" Negi walks off continuing her trail across the whole of the prison. These four weren't the last to feel the need to pay her back, and they weren't the last to fall either.

The next person she meets along her way is a boy with such a strikingly familiar feature about him. Dark twin peaks for hair, a rare style she only saw on one other saiyan. There was more to him, but he was crouched with his back to the prison wall. Hugging his legs so that only his eyes peered out from the shadows he created upon himself.

For just one second Negi felt a presence far more sadistic than she ever exuded. A shiver went up her spine, causing her to not recoil, but grit her teeth in anger.

That one second pissed her off severely.

Thump!

No words came out of her mouth as she strode up to him at high speed and punted him like a ball. Using her left leg with just enough force to punish, not kill the weak boy.

The feat of her action sent the ominous boy hurtling far away from her and onto the ground. The pain caused him to be knocked out before he even knew what hit him.

"Tch, F*cking kid" she spat, literally onto the ground beside her as she walked past him.

Noting the number on his chest as he was sprawled out onto his back. 450.

Her walk was soon coming full circle with not many other noteworthy interruptions.

It was when she returned back to her spot an hour or so later that she noticed the boy she knocked in place of Zukki was nowhere to be seen.

"Hm, more durable than I expected if he's already up and about. For some reason I honestly thought he would be knocked out all day." she muses out loud.

Suddenly a few feet away a large and burly mountain of a man lands onto the gravel and approaches her with a start.

"Warden Negi, I've been trying to reach you for hours. What happened to your scouter!?" He exclaims, not used to this woman's whims, and assuming it was lost due to some incident he didn't know about.

"forgot it at home," she responded casually.

"What!?" The burly man responds incredulous as he finds his boss to be the enigma he's heard of.

"What's the problem..just let it out already"

"Ma'am" he starts only to be glared at. "Warden.. it's the new reject, 336, he just won't stop running."
