Billie.
"I'm home!" I called out, kicking off my shoes like I always do.
The first thing I saw wasn't Lexus. Nope. It was petals. Actual petals.
Rose petals.
Scattered across the floor like someone was expecting either a proposal or a crime scene with very romantic intentions.
I paused, squinting at the dim lighting like the house suddenly decided to join a romance movie without warning me.
"Okay… did someone break in and fall in love mid-robbery?" I muttered, stepping forward slowly.
The petals led me straight to the dining room. That's when I saw him.
Lexus.
Wearing a damn apron over his white shirt and dark pants. Holding a spoon. And looking way too pleased with himself.
I blinked. "Okay. What's going on?"
Then I gasped, half-joking as I looked around. "Where is she?"
He raised a brow. "Who?"
"The woman you're obviously hiding," I said dramatically, checking behind the counter. "Because there's no way you did all this."
