At the time, neither of them knew that Avery possessed special Tickets that could allow them to leave whenever they wanted. Isaac had been prepared to risk his life without any guarantee of survival. That alone said enough about how much he cared.
But it was hardly the only example.
When Emily's Trial had appeared, Isaac had entered it despite knowing who he would face. The Netherworld Empress and the Sword God were not opponents anyone could take lightly. He could have died there.
Yet he still went because Emily was important to him. For Isaac, protecting the people he loved always came before his own safety.
Then there was Catherine. Even now, Selene still found that situation ridiculous whenever she thought about it, after learning it from Celia.
Isaac had "proposed" to Catherine despite knowing that it would literally kill him. Most people would have reconsidered after hearing that detail. Isaac had not.
The knowledge of the incident still made Selene shake her head.
