The Nexus was destroyed.
I immediately reached for the connection between Lyrate and me.
'I destroyed the Nexus.'
Her response came almost instantly.
'We felt it.'
There was something different in her voice, however, and before I could ask what had happened, she continued.
'The moment it was destroyed, a roar came from the direction of the main planet.'
I frowned.
'A roar?'
'Yes. It wasn't human. It sounded almost... bestial.'
I could hear the tension in her voice now.
'Something happened after that. An extremely powerful aura suddenly erupted from the planet, and it has been fluctuating wildly. I have never felt anything like—'
She suddenly stopped.
I immediately became alert.
'Lyrate? What happened?'
For several seconds, there was nothing but silence through our connection. Then her voice returned, and this time there was unmistakable urgency within it.
'Billion…'
'What?'
'He has appeared.'
My heart tightened.
