I put my hands up to show I meant no harm, however Aster, One-Eye and Urta all had their weapons at the ready still while we stood facing off against the aggressive and agitated Rock Lizards.
"Let's calm down okay? We didn't mean to intrude on anyone's territory in the first place." I say trying to calm the situation down even if only a little.
[Grr, Hobgoblin thing thinks he doesn't know? All monsters should know this valley is our tribes valley!] The leader of this small group of Rock Lizards said as he pointed his mace right at us.
'Hobgoblin? Is that what monsters think humans are? Monsters that have never met a human before?' I couldn't help but incredulously think but it wasn't too far fetched to think that.
Hobgoblins are the taller and stronger cousins to normal Goblins, they were taller than dwarves, halflings and gnomes but were shorter than the average human, their pointed ears were less pronounced along with their skin tone varying between green to a more human like tan, though I was a bit offended to be called a hobgoblin by another monster.
But I decided to play along, [My Tribe is from the deep jungle lands, far from here, but a large adult land dragon came down from the mountains and decimated my tribe, we scatted all around the place, the few who are with me also don't have a place to call our home, so we decided to find a place to call ours closer to the coast.] I said mimicking their own lizard language thanks to my {Monster Language} skill.
The leader hefted his large mace over his shoulder before looking at his companions who shake their head before looking back at me, [You speak our tongue, poorly, never seen hobgoblin understand what we say, only snarl and raise clubs, we beat them down before eat them for that, maybe you lie, maybe you don't, but here is not your lands outsider.] the leader said making it clear that we were still not welcome here.
[Then we leave, but our friends, harpies took them, need find them to get them back, can't leave until we get friends back.] I spoke back in a more broken kind of way to make the words I'm saying more clear to understand.
{Monster Language} isn't perfect when it comes to completely new monster languages, but when I mentioned Harpies the female got mad hearing about it.
[Kraaas! Those sick birds! Come at night when we sleep and steal away our children to satisfy their desires! Always move their nest when we find them to hunt them down!] She said sounding furious at the mere mention of Harpies.
Monsters born outside of farms and outside of incubators will be born as children and will require a few years to grow up in order to become adults, luckily there isn't any issues with using incubators to bring the monsters to adulthood right out of their eggs like stunted growth or intelligence as a result, but that's do to magic cores powering the heat source allowing them to grow so rapidly as a result, where as children drink the breast milk of their mothers in order to help them grow, it's also why reptilian monsters have breasts.
[Then we no enemy of yours, it's why we are setting our camp here, need to find those birds in order to get our friends back, then we leave and won't enter your tribes lands again.] I say to them to which they look at each other while they figure out what to do, while sweat is going down the back of my neck as my eyes subtly glow.

They were all B Grade Monsters with the Female one just barely passing the threshold of a B Grade Monster, but this made me realize they weren't going all out to begin with, they hit like a truck for all of us but it was just a warning at that, to gauge what they should do with us so that's why I don't want to fight them if I can help it as the degree of strength, speed and endurance was higher than even Aster who was only a C+ which is two grades Lower than the Females B--.
They looked at each other for awhile before ultimately nodding and looking back at us as the Leader stepped further, [This first for us, orders from chief are to scare away any who get in our territory, if not then kill them, but we can't decide what to do with you, only chief can decide that, she will go back and tell of what happened here, chief will lead us all.] He said with reverence in his voice as the Female leapt into the water and swam back to the location of the Rock Lizard Village.
So seeing we didn't have anything to do now as we were now, for the moment at least, not hostile with each other and thus One-Eye and Urta went back to finish making the camp while Aster stayed by my side while we waited for the confirmation between us and the Rock Lizards.
It wasn't until about half an hour later that the female Rock Lizard returned to us, [Chief said one of you come with us, only then will we know if it okay for you to stay or you will have to go.] She explained to me to which I nodded.
[You not as good as us at swimming, we pull log along and you hold on.] The leader explained while the gauntleted male smashed his fist to topple a tree before cutting it to a manageable size and tossing it into the water.
It was a rather crude way of traveling this way without a boat so I removed everything but my shorts and walking into the moderately cold river water as I grabbed onto the log using some of the branch stumps for leverage.
The water chilled me to the bones but my constitution was strong enough to handle it before they removed the ropes that they use to carry back their prey to their village and connected it to the log.
When it was all set the three jumped back into the water and began to rapidly swim away while I hanged on for dear life while we headed up river towards the direction of the Rock Lizard Village.
No matter what I will need to convince the chief to let us have access through their territory in order to hunt down the Harpies and where they lived.
I'll do whatever it takes to regain my freedom.
