Chapter 286 - Chapter 286: The So-Called Adventurer

Of course, the so-called daring things were actually just becoming an adventurer.

Thinking this, Roa began to tell his own story, the story of how he became an adventurer.

Roa slowly opened his mouth and said, "Although being an adventurer is dangerous, there's no doubt that their lives are also quite exciting. It might be a bit tiring, but if you meet good teammates, it can add some color to the journey."

"Although I'm mostly alone, sometimes I'm a little envious of those guys."

Iris looked at Roa, tilted her head, and a gentle look appeared on her innocent face. The girl said to Roa, "Big brother, it's okay. Iris is also alone, I understand big brother's feelings."

Roa smiled. Although he was alone, that was only during his travels, and a big reason for that result was his own choice.

Roa said to Iris, "Let's not talk about this, I'll start telling you the story of adventurers."

"Adventurers have their own way of survival, but in short, it's still one word: caution."

"No matter what kind of enemy you face, you must have a cautious heart. You can't underestimate them just because they are weak monsters. Iris is very strong, but you can't lose your cautious heart."

"If one day you go out to adventure and fight someone weaker than you, you must still be careful."

As he said this, Roa looked at the girl beside him.

When Iris heard the first half of the sentence, she still looked like she was humbly asking for advice, but when she heard the second half of the sentence, her face looked a little bad. Iris murmured softly, "Go out to adventure one day? They won't let me go out. Even if I just take a walk nearby, a group of guards will follow me."

Roa paused, reached out and touched the girl's head, comforting her, "That day will come."

Then Roa began to tell interesting stories about adventurers.

If it was just a boring grind of killing monsters and leveling up, then naturally there wouldn't be anything interesting to listen to.

His own adventurer experience didn't really have much to tell. If he had to say something, it would be overwhelming them.

Simply overwhelming them was certainly satisfying, but to others, it was just so-so.

But like the monsters they killed, what their bodies were used for, how to deal with a weak monster, these things were a little more interesting to tell.

And what was there to tell about his own affairs? Just going up and killing them with a set of magic spells?

For a moment, Roa really didn't know what to tell, so he simply brought out the story of Goblin Slayer.

Of course, the dark version of the first half was omitted, and he told the story of Goblin Slayer's later adventures.

Growth and adventure always made people's hearts beat faster. Even though he was an ordinary person, he was able to do things that even adventurers with special powers found difficult to do.

Iris's eyes lit up as she listened, and she became even more interested in the so-called adventure.

The little girl was like this, Iris looked at Roa, her beautiful and clear eyes filled with longing.

Roa's story wasn't long, it only took half an hour to finish telling the story of Goblin Slayer.

"In short, that's roughly how things developed. I'm sure you have a clearer understanding of the life of an adventurer."

Iris nodded, the girl reluctantly got up, her not-so-tall figure walked to the window, looking at the world outside the palace where the sun was shining brightly.

"I want to go out for a walk and become an adventurer."

Iris sighed again.

Roa got up and came to Iris's side, tempting her, "Why don't you just go out for a walk? Anyway, this is technically still part of the Royal capital. Even if they can't find you for a while, everyone will be very anxious, but you can still come back in time."

When Iris heard Roa's words, her eyes lit up, and those beautiful eyes looked at Roa again, asking, "Can I? Is it okay to do that?"

Roa thought for a moment and nodded, "I guess so. It's okay to be a little selfish sometimes."

Iris showed a conflicted expression. The outside world was a very novel world for the girl, but whenever she wanted to go out, everyone would try their best to stop her.

Over time, that desire to go out naturally faded.

But when someone stood up and told her about the beauty of the outside world, that it was okay for her to be a little selfish.

The thoughts that had been forcibly suppressed in her heart revived again, and Iris looked at the blue sky outside.

Looking down from the Royal palace, she could see the orderly rows of houses outside, and the maids with smiles on their faces.

A sparrow stood on the treetop, chirping, and a gentle breeze blew on the girl's face.

Iris reached out her hand, as if trying to grasp something, but when she looked up again, she found that her hand was still empty.

"Even if I'm a little selfish, it's okay, right?"

Iris murmured, repeating the boy's words, and finally, as if she had made some kind of determination, those beautiful eyes became firm.

"Then, let's be a little selfish."

The corners of Roa's mouth turned up, revealing a faint smile.

Iris and Eris were two completely opposite people, one was young but always worried about so many things, one was carefree and always did what she wanted to do.

It seemed that Roa knew what Iris had always wanted to do but hadn't done, and Iris's attitude towards Roa became even more trusting.

Iris came to Roa's side and said in her still-tender voice, "Roa, brother? Can I call you that from now on? Is that okay?"

Roa nodded calmly. Although he had many sisters and it wasn't the first time he had been called brother by someone else, hearing this soft voice call him brother again made him feel happy again.

After talking with Iris for a while longer, it was already afternoon.

It wasn't until Claire stood aside with a cold face that Iris said to Roa with some regret, "It's probably the first time brother has come to the Royal palace, so he probably doesn't know where to stay. Claire, arrange a room for brother, a good one."

When Claire heard Iris's address, her face changed again.

"Brother? How did your relationship progress so quickly?"

Claire's shocked and bewildered expressions intertwined, her eyes darting back and forth between Roa and Iris, and finally she sighed, grabbed Roa's clothes, and pulled Roa out of the room.

Roa didn't resist. The two stood outside the corridor, and Claire looked at Roa, frowning, "You, you didn't teach Her Highness anything weird, did you?"
