Chapter 33 - ARE

Responsibilities....

People often talk about responsibilities. Whether it's about their financial conditions, their friendship, relationship or anything that expects carrying the burden of others.

It's in the nature of humans to be afraid of them and stay away. No one wants to be responsible. They are afraid.

What if they are wrong? What if they make a mistake?

There's only one to blame. Themselves..

And not just humans. It's the nature of every organism. Some animals abandon their own child, some run away with their tail between their legs. It's the same! The same everywhere!

I. Hate. Responsibilities.

---

"Cool quote" Magnus stared at the half-torn floating page with some random scribble talking about responsibility or whatever. Of course he didn't care much about it. He too, was a "runaway" of responsibility.

The paper floated for some time before vanishing into oblivion. Magnus still locked his gaze at the same spot where the paper was before.

The throne room was quiet. Unusual. Eerie, and uncomfortable.

Magnus felt the presence of his servants all over the castle, but not in his own throne room. He considered standing up and walking around. Nevermind.

[Sorry for leaving you hanging. My server disconnected] Myst's voice rang inside Magnus' head like a tuning-fork.

(You sure give me lot of unanswered questions) Magnus... Huh?

Magnus didn't speak, no. In fact, he didn't open his mouth, neither did his voice came out. It was like a comic, a white bubble with black wiggly corners floated just about him, texts written on them.

Speech bubble. It was, without a doubt, a speech bubble.

But why? A speech bubble. This is a novel not a comic. No, in reality. How does he know thi—

(So, can I ask the questions now?) Another speech bubble floated just above him. This time, the bubble was a little distorted. Like it was confused or rather.. questioning. Man....

[Go ahead. Take your bite at it] Myst calmed herself. This situation was very weird, but {un}fortunately she was used to it.

(First. Let's recap. How did i come here, and why did i come here. How about you answer that?) The bubble stretched a little, turning into an oval shape.

[How did you come here? Well, you don't really have to be that logical. It's just a mere coincidence that you got chosen from the summoning "act". As for why you are here. Just think of it as a luck. The Power Bestower didn't really tell me anything about why he called for you.]

Magnus stayed silent. He thought for a few minutes. "Power Bestower... So he's the one who "summoned" me. Myst is very vague about my transmiga... Wait. Have i actually transmigrated, or is this another little hope I am trying to cling onto?"

(Another question. You said I am inside a novel. Which novel exactly? I dont remember reading novels, as a matter of fact. I wasn't really into literature. Also, why is my body different? I hold onto a face and body i do not truly own. Or rather. Isn't truly mine. Who's body is this?)

[.....You are asking...very specific questions.]

"Answer my question." He spoke. His tone was harsh, his expression stressed.

The sudden talking took myst by surprise. It ment that Magnus was losing his cool, and more importantly. He was more aware than ever.

[ ]

Myst didn't respond. The blue window floated without a single text engraved onto it.

Before Magnus could say a word, the newly built metal door opened with a loud screech.

From the entrance came the familiar man. Bob(arathos).

"Ugh!! I told them to add lubricant on the damn door!" He scratched his ears with his fingers as he walked to the stairs.

Magnus didn't say anything, he just watched.

He knelt and put his hands on his chest and bowed, looking at the ground like some sort of knight.

"M'lord. I have came to inform you that I will be going to the human realm to gather more tea leaves."

(Why not from the elf realm?) The bubble floated just besides Magnus.

Bob didn't hear anything. Was he ignored? He wasn't the type to just let someone ignore him. He looked up at Magnus and saw a fucking bubble with texts.

He read it. He understood it...

No. He didn't. He, as a matter of fact, did not understand anything that was happening right at this moment.

Sure, Magnus was some kind of overpowered demon king. He was able to beat Saint-levels with a flick of a finger, cool. But a speech bubble. In a GOD DAMN FUCKING NOVEL!??

Bob stared at the bubble. The text was as clear as day.

*Why not the elf realm?*

He understood it. He even thought about it. For a half a minute.

For a full whole minute.

Until he finally replied. "So.... I am scared of elves. Especially after how Reina treats me. She's scary and so are the other elves. Gustav's better."

Magnus paused for a few moments, collecting his thoughts "He's right. Gustav's much better than those arrogant elves. No.. that's not the point here. The elf tea is much better than those human ones...."

He then took a look at Bob.

(If you don't bring me the elf ones, I will kill you) Easy. Magnus knew exactly what to do, threaten him. Who wouldn't be scared of the strongest being on eryndale?... Marianne probably? Whatever.

Bob stared at the speech bubble. Got up, and started walking towards the door. As he approached the door, a small droplet of water fell of his face. But it wasn't really easy to tell if it was sweat or tears.

He then left the room and closed the door..

SCKRIEEEEEEEEEEEEEECH!!!!!!

"GAHHHHN!" Bob shouted.
