Chapter 97 - Chapter 97 Have you been doing this...?

A monster appeared on the mountain. That's what Sakura heard when she woke up.

Early in the morning, villagers discovered the bodies of dead hunters, torn to pieces, at the entrance to the village.

The villagers panicked and early in the morning they went to the shrine to ask Miko to kill the monster.

Otto had already prepared breakfast, but Sakura didn't have time to eat it. She grabbed her katana, said goodbye to Otto, and hurried back to the village.

While Sakura was away, Kallen was munching on the food Otto had prepared, and she wasn't very interested in eating alone.

Otto did not remain in the sanctuary hall as he usually did, but sat on the other side of the table, watching her eat the food he had prepared.

"Lord, don't you want to eat?" Kallen asked. Otto was still wearing his mask. He never took it off in her presence.

I'm eating alone, and he sits and silently looks at me. How can I describe this feeling... I miss him a little...

thought Kallen.

"I..." Otto seemed to think, "I'm worried that Sakura might get hurt."

His voice was full of concern and fear for Sakura.

"Many hunters have already died, I don't know if she can solve this problem," his body trembled slightly.

"Sakura considers protecting the village her mission. I'm worried she'll put too much pressure on herself." Even his voice trembled slightly.

Kallen silently put down her chopsticks. She, too, was very concerned about Sakura's safety. Over the past few days, she had become convinced that Sakura was a very kind girl and had become friends with her.

"I'll go help her," Kallen said, but Otto shook his head.

"You're not fully recovered yet, you can't help her," Otto said.

Clasping his hands in front of his chest, he pleaded, "Sakura, please be safe."

"Huhu." Kallen laughed and stood up, placing her hands on her hips, "Lord God, don't underestimate me."

Placing her right hand on her chest, she looked at him with eyes full of confidence. The action reminded Otto of Keanu.

Kallen said, "I was the strongest Valkyrie, and even Sakura couldn't defeat me."

She said it so confidently, and under Otto's reassuring gaze, she continued, "I will return Sakura safe and sound, trust me."

After finishing speaking, Kallen returned to her room without finishing eating, took her weapon and ran towards the village.

"Tsk, I didn't even say where exactly Sakura went, is the whole Kaslan family really that impatient?"

Otto watched her run away, not even asking where Sakura was. He didn't sit back down at the table, but walked down the mountain.

In the dense forest, the bony wings on the bear-like monster's back turned into a whip that sent Sakura's blade flying.

The tentacles wrapped around her body, rendering her unable to move, and she prepared to die. But the bear-like monster didn't attack the immobilized Sakura, but simply let out a loud roar.

The roar was deafening and continued for quite some time. When it finally died down, the monster raised its claws and lightly stroked Sakura's head.

"Boom!"

The monster's right paw disappeared, and then the tentacles binding Sakura were torn to shreds. Sakura broke free of the tentacles and was about to fall to the ground.

But a figure gently embraced her, preventing her from falling to the ground. Kallen continued to fire a barrage of bullets from her pistol straight at the monster.

Finally, she stopped.

Otto, who was controlling the monster, sighed with relief. He had made the bear roar for so long to attract Kallen; otherwise, she would have wandered the forest for a long time.

"It's okay," Kallen told Sakura, and when she nodded, she gently lowered her to the ground.

"Wait here first, and I'll finish with this monster." After Kallen finished speaking, she raised her pistol and without hesitation fired a beam of light, piercing the monster's body.

Otto disconnected from the bear. He ignored Kallen and Sakura and headed straight for the village. All the houses were locked, but that didn't stop Otto; he entered.

This was the elder's house.

The blind girl came out to greet Otto. She opened the door for him. Everyone in the house had fainted, except for the headman, who was still conscious and trembling in the corner.

"Excuse me." Otto politely removed the straw sandals Sakura had made for him at the entrance, then walked in and sat down across from the class president.

"You, what are you doing here?" Seeing Otto sitting in front of him, the village elder quickly knelt down and bowed to Otto sitting on the ground.

"What I need..." Otto placed his left hand on his chin, pretending to think.

"I need a sacrifice." Otto said what he wanted: "I need you to perform that ceremony again and prepare a sacrifice for me."

Let's get things back to normal.

After he finished speaking, Otto patted the girl next to him on the shoulder and added another sentence.

"Don't talk too much unless you want to be killed by your own granddaughter."

"Yes, yes, yes!" The elder bowed hastily. He was no longer the respected village elder, but simply an old man who feared death.

Otto put on his straw sandals and looked at the system panel.

It grew again, but he didn't care, he hurried back to the sanctuary before both girls returned.

Kallen helped Sakura and it seemed like the friendship between them went even further, but it was just friendship.

This time, Kallen didn't have feelings for Sakura, she knew that this beautiful flower already had an owner.

It was just that under Otto's control, monsters attacked every day, and Sakura was no longer going to fight alone, with Kallen by her side.

As for Otto, although Sakura still wipes his body, kisses him, and takes baths with him every day, he spends less and less time with her, and more and more time alone.

Over the past few days, the village's population has been dwindling, and Sakura had just received word that another sacrifice would be held. Her face remained expressionless, but she continued to fight the monsters alongside Kallen.

After all, she had more important things on her mind.

She felt that something was wrong.

Her thoughts were always occupied with Otto, and she wasn't as stupid as Kallen, so how could she not notice that something was wrong with Otto?

She felt that Otto might leave her.

She didn't know why this was happening, she didn't understand what she should do?

She didn't dare ask, afraid of receiving terrifying answers to her questions from Otto.

And on the fourth night since she had started fighting alongside Kallen, Otto lay alone on a stone bed in an empty room.

Today Sakura went to sleep in Kallen's room.

Otto closed his eyes and thought he was asleep. But then a beetle flew onto the windowsill of Kallen's room.

Otto controlled this beetle, which he injected with his Honkai energy. He wanted to eavesdrop on the conversation between the two girls.

Then he heard Sakura's voice.

"Kallen, have you and your fiancé ever done this...?"

And then thunder rumbled in the sky.
