After months of silence and sorrow, change finally knocked at Yuna's door not in the form of healing, but a shift in place. Her father had successfully launched the second major branch of Huma Electronics in Seoul, prompting the family to relocate.
Yuna's mother welcomed the move with quiet hope. Perhaps, she thought, a new city will help Yuna start over. Maybe she can finally breathe again.
The house was packed, boxes labeled and stacked, rooms left bare except for the memories that clung to their walls. As they stood outside, ready to depart, Yuna paused at the front gate. She turned back and looked at her old home her silent witness of joy, laughter, and pain.
"I'll miss you," she whispered, her voice barely audible. "Goodbye."
Their new home in Seoul was spacious and calm, tucked away in a quiet neighborhood. Within a few days, the family had settled comfortably. Yuna's room, though unfamiliar, slowly began to feel like her own. The calendar on her wall marked August 1st the first day at her new school.
That night, Yuna sat by the window, her chin resting on her knees as she stared at the quiet, starlit sky.
"I wish you were here, Soo Min," she whispered, her voice trembling. "Even though I'm starting a new life in a new city... I still miss you. Every day."
Tears slid down her cheeks silently, soaking into her sleeves.
As the night deepened, sleep slowly crept in only to bring her back to the nightmare she could never outrun.
The dream came again.
The accident. The chaos.
Soo Min, lying in her lap, blood soaking her hands and clothes.
She was screaming, desperately looking around. "Help! Somebody, please! I beg you!"
Her voice cracked with desperation, but the world remained silent.
Then, even in that dream, Soo Min lifted his trembling hand to her cheek. His face pale, eyes dim.
"Yuna... please take care of yourself," he whispered with a faint smile. "Goodbye."
"No!" she screamed, sobbing violently. "Don't leave me!"
She jolted awake, drenched in sweat, breath heaving, tears running down her face. Her heart ached like it did the day she lost him.
She sat up and looked around, the dim morning light slowly filling her room.
Where... am I?
Reality returned like a wave. She placed her hand on her chest, calming her breath, then whispered into the quiet,
"Soo Min-ah... how am I supposed to live without you?"
She wiped her tears slowly.
"It's getting harder every day..."
Just then, her mother's voice echoed from downstairs.
"Yuna! Get up, sweetheart. Time to get ready for your new school!"
Yuna let out a long sigh, gathering herself.
"Yeah... I'm getting ready," she replied, her voice low but steady.
She stood up, got dressed, and went downstairs. Her mother's face lit up when she saw her in her uniform.
"Come on, have your breakfast quickly," she said cheerfully. "You don't want to be late on your first day."
Yuna nodded and sat down, silently finishing her breakfast.
After finishing her breakfast yuna headed to her new school.
Standing at the entrance gate of her new school, Yuna took a moment. Students bustled around her, laughing, chattering, all strangers to her.
She took a deep breath and whispered to herself,
"Yuna… you can do this."
And with that, she stepped forward into a new chapter, still carrying her pain, but also a quiet determination to keep going.
