As quickly as Marc appeared, he vanished within a swirl of shadow and flame, his threat lingering in the air. The frozen silence shattered as Jinah rushed forward, tears streaming down his face, embracing Jin-Woo. Hae-In followed, greeting him with a longing kiss that made Lloyd grimace and Lerato sigh dreamily. David chuckled, pulling Christopher into a brotherly hug. Finally, the soulmates eyes met across the clearing. The world seemed to fall away as they gravitate towards each other.
Monja: *She reaches out, her fingers tracing the line of Christopher's jaw. Affection shallow within her gaze.* What do we do now?
Without another word, Christopher pulls her closer and kissed her like no man's ever done before.
Christopher: *Whispered in her ear.* Now we focus on forever.
Two weeks later, the Germany air buzzed with a nervous energy. Chris and Monja stood in his apartment, boxes stacked high, ready for their move to South Africa. He taped another box shut, the sound echoing in the mostly empty room.
Christopher: *He seals the box with a loud rip of tape.* Another box down.
Monja: *She folds a sweater, her brow furrowed.* It's… a big change, my love. Are you sure about this?
Christopher: *Steps forward, peering at the box with a mixture of curiosity and apprehension. He grins, walking over to wrap his arms around her.* More sure than I've ever been about anything. Being with you, building a life with you… that's all that matters.
He nuzzles his face into her hair, inhaling the familiar scent of her lemony perfume. The last two weeks had been a whirlwind of activity – packing, flights, endless paperwork. But amidst the chaos, there had been an undercurrent of pure, unadulterated joy. He'd finally escaped the oppressive atmosphere of his falling marriage and was starting anew, with the woman he loved.
Monja: *She leans into his embrace, her expression remains clouded.* It's not just about me, Chris. What about your family? Your friends? Your son?
Christopher: *He sighs, his smile fading slightly.* I'll miss them, of course. But… I've called Germany home for so long, and it hasn't brought me any real happiness. I love you Monja, you've changed my whole life… and besides… they can always visit us. You're charm will have them come running.
Monja: *A small smile plays on her lips.* You think so?
Christopher: *He winks* I know so. Now, how about we order some takeout, and watch a movie. The kids are at Mom's… it's just you and I.
Monja: *She laughs, the sound light and melodic.* Christopher!?
Christopher: *He arched a brow.* What? All this packing is making me hungry!
The tension in Monja's shoulders seems to melt away. Christopher reached for his phone, ready to order in. A strange shimmer filled the air, unnoticed by either of them. The light danced and pulsed, coalescing into a small, swirling vortex near the window. From within it's depths, a pair of eyes watched them.
Michael: *A warm smile crossed his lips.* This is your time to shine, soulmates… *He knows that he done many unforgivable things, standing with Marc. His bound to lose his wings for that, but at least he momentarily turned Marc's attention away from them by fakely summoning the Brothers Three. That's all it costs, a second of distraction, to throw his plans out of balance.* Until we meet again, soulmates… take care...
