"Alright, we should keep moving," Allen said.
Everyone agreed. It was obvious they all wanted to get out of this dangerous place as soon as possible.
"Oh, and don't forget—be careful. These things like to hide in dark areas and ambush people," Allen added in a calm but serious tone.
Leon nodded. "Yeah… I got this."
Even so, he was still shocked by how quickly this deadly chaos had spread to the northern part of the city.
"Okay, Leon, follow me. I'll take point," Kevin said as he moved to the front. "Leon, cover me, alright?"
"Roger," Leon replied immediately.
Kevin and Leon led the way toward the rooftop of the bar, weapons raised and eyes sharp. Allen followed from behind with the girls, keeping a close watch on their surroundings.
When they finally reached the rooftop via the emergency stairs, the scene before them was nothing short of disastrous. Sirens echoed in the distance, smoke rose between buildings, and distant screams carried through the night air.
"Alright, everyone," Kevin said, pointing ahead. "We can jump from here to the next building. From there, we can reach a safer area."
The gap between the buildings was about three meters.
"Are you insane?!" one of the civilians shouted—a man in a suit who was clearly panicking. "Do you want us to die? There's no way we can jump that far!"
"Sir, calm down. You'll be fine," Leon said, unsure how to properly handle the man's growing hysteria.
Allen, however, didn't bother arguing. He was already irritated by the man's attitude.
"We'll go first and secure a safer spot," Allen said flatly.
The girls nodded without hesitation.
Allen lifted Michaela onto his back and jumped first, landing cleanly on the neighboring rooftop. Cindy followed, then Aphrodite and Hera, and finally Rebecca. Mark and Bob quickly followed Allen's group, choosing to move rather than hesitate.
Soon, only Kevin, Leon, and the furious civilian in the suit were left behind.
"I don't care what you say! I'm not leaving this place!" the man shouted angrily. "If you don't come back with a helicopter to pick me up, I'll sue all of you!"
Leon was still trying to reason with the civilian, refusing to give up on him despite the danger.
"But sir—" Leon started, trying to calm him down.
However, their raised voices echoed across the rooftop.
Suddenly, a grotesque giant cockroach-like creature, about the size of a human baby, leaped out of the shadows and latched onto the civilian's back.
"AAAH! LET GO OF ME! NO—PLEASE!" the man screamed in blind panic.
Leon and Kevin immediately raised their weapons, but the civilian was flailing wildly, running back and forth in terror, making it almost impossible to get a clean shot.
"Sir, please stop moving!" Leon shouted desperately.
But it was already too late.
Blood splattered across the concrete as the creature tore into him. The man stumbled, slipped near the edge of the building, and fell screaming into the darkness below—where a horde of zombies instantly swarmed and tore him apart.
"Damn it!" Leon cursed, gripping his pistol tightly, his teeth clenched in frustration.
Kevin placed a firm hand on Leon's shoulder.
"Come on. We need to keep moving."
Leon nodded silently, forcing himself to turn away. He followed Kevin as they hurried to rejoin the others.
Below them, the streets of Raccoon City were already descending into chaos. Zombies and mutated creatures roamed freely, while scattered police units tried desperately to contain the outbreak. Gunfire echoed through the night, mixing with screams and distant explosions.
Kevin suddenly stopped and looked down another street.
"There—!" he said grimly.
A massive group of zombies was closing in on the police units below, slowly surrounding them. Among the horde were larger mutated creatures, far more dangerous than ordinary infected.
"Damn it… we have to do something or they'll be wiped out," Kevin said through gritted teeth.
Leon felt the same knot in his chest as he watched the officers below struggling to hold the line.
Allen scanned the area quickly, his eyes sharp.
"Kevin, look over there," Allen said calmly. "There's an oil truck. If they open the tank and ignite it, it could burn the zombies and buy them some time. It might also give us a clear path out of here."
Kevin's eyes widened.
"That's a solid plan."
He stepped forward and shouted as loud as he could.
"HEY! THIS IS CAPTAIN KEVIN FROM SPECIAL FORCES!"
The officers below looked up in shock.
"OPEN THAT OIL TANK AND USE IT TO BURN THE ZOMBIES IF YOU WANT TO SURVIVE!"
Hearing a direct command from a higher-ranking officer, the police wasted no time. They rushed to the truck and forced the tank open. Oil began spilling across the street.
Kevin turned to Leon.
"Alright, Leon. You're up."
Leon nodded, steadying his breathing. He aimed carefully.
BANG!
The bullet struck.
BOOOOM!
A massive explosion erupted, flames engulfing the street in a blazing inferno, incinerating everything within nearly a thirty-meter radius. Zombies and monsters were reduced to burning husks in seconds.
"That explosion was incredibly strong," Aphrodite said, shielding her eyes from the blinding light.
Without her divine authority, she felt the intense heat scorch her skin.
"Are you alright, sweetheart?" Allen asked worriedly, stepping closer and positioning himself between her and the flames to shield her.
Hera noticed this immediately and clicked her tongue inwardly, slightly irritated. Still, an idea crossed her mind.
She placed a hand over her stomach, her face turning pale as she leaned slightly forward, feigning exhaustion.
"D-dear… I don't feel so well," Hera said softly.
Allen's expression immediately changed.
"Hera? Are you okay?" he asked, rushing over in concern.
Panic flickered in his eyes. Without their divine powers, their bodies were completely human now—and Hera was carrying a child.
Rebecca quickly joined them, checking Hera's condition seriously.
"Let me take a look," Rebecca said, her voice calm but focused, fully aware that in this situation, even a small problem could turn fatal.
Aphrodite, seeing Hera's behavior, was left speechless, as she could tell that Hera was clearly putting on an act. Still, she chose to stay quiet and didn't expose the little performance her sister was putting on. The reason was simple—she wasn't a jealous goddess like Hera. That said, she fully intended to tease Hera about it later, once she found the right opportunity.
Meanwhile, Kevin, Leon, Mark, and Bob could only shake their heads as they watched the family-like drama unfolding right in front of them. There was a faint trace of jealousy in their expressions—after all, seeing such closeness in the middle of chaos was enough to stir complicated feelings.
"Alright, we should move. This area looks relatively safe for now," Kevin said, taking the lead as he descended the fire escape ladder.
The others agreed and followed him down without hesitation. Allen and his group of women moved after them as well. At this point, Michaela was no longer being carried on Allen's back—she had switched places with Hera. She didn't want to burden Allen anymore and chose to give way to Hera instead.
Soon, Kevin returned, driving a car he had just hotwired. "Everyone, get in!" he shouted, urging the group to hurry.
One by one, everyone climbed inside, including Allen and the others. Without wasting another second, they drove away, leaving the dangerous area behind.
.....
Not long after Allen and the group departed, Umbrella forces suddenly arrived and sealed off the entire area with military vehicles, blocking all entrances and exits. Several Umbrella soldiers and inspectors disembarked, immediately beginning surveillance and data collection—recording the scale of destruction and the combat effectiveness of the monsters roaming the streets.
Among them was Nikolai, a mercenary who would do absolutely anything for money.
The soldiers and inspectors continued recording as they systematically swept through the area, eliminating anything that moved. Gunfire echoed through the streets as Umbrella began cleaning up the aftermath, turning the ruined district into nothing more than another test site.
.....
Kevin brought the car to a stop in the southern district, which was currently the safest area in the city and also where the luxury apartment complex Allen lived was located.
"Thanks for the ride," Allen said to Kevin.
"You're welcome. See you again, Allen," Kevin replied.
"Alright, drive safe," Allen answered. Not long after that, the car drove off, leaving them behind.
After watching them leave, Allen and the girls entered the luxury building. Inside, the other women immediately came out to greet them, asking anxiously whether they were all right.
"We're fine," Allen said. After cleaning himself up and changing out of his bloodstained clothes, he sat down in the living room. Not long after, the other women followed and sat down near him.
"Allan, what are you going to do now? You know this place has become extremely dangerous," Alyssa asked, clearly already aware of what had happened in the northern part of the city.
"Well, for now, I want you all to leave the city first," Allen replied, glancing toward Alyssa, Aphrodite, Becca, Cindy, Hera, January, and Laura.
"By the way, where's Katherine?" Allen asked.
"She's at her house right now," Svetlana answered.
Hearing that, Allen nodded calmly. He could take care of that later.
"Allen," Cindy said, "then what about you? Aren't you going to leave this city as well?"
"Of course I'll leave," Allen replied calmly, "but only after I make sure all of you have gotten out safely first. There are still a few things I need to take care of here."
The girls finally nodded, understanding his decision. Rebecca especially—she knew she couldn't just leave right away, not with the city in its current state. As a medic, she also— wanted to help save as many people as she could.
Meanwhile, Ada simply smiled as she watched Allen. This was exactly why she had fallen for him in the first place—he was kind, responsible, and someone who would never turn his back on others when they were suffering. Subconsciously, she gently placed a hand over her abdomen, where a new life had begun to grow, now three weeks along.
...
Meanwhile, Umbrella was holding a high-level meeting among its executives to discuss the ongoing biohazard incident. Alex was also present, attending the meeting as Spencer's representative in his absence.
"This incident is no longer under our control," one of Umbrella's senior executives said grimly.
"Then what are we supposed to do about it? You know Raccoon City is our largest branch," another member added, his voice tense.
Alex remained silent. She had no real interest in this meeting. She already knew the outcome—this discussion was nothing more than a waste of time. The people in this room only cared about profits and self-preservation.
Suddenly, the meeting room doors burst open.
Everyone turned their heads at once.
Sergei entered the room, flanked by two T-103 Tyrants standing behind him like towering statues of death. The room instantly fell silent. No one dared to speak as his sudden intrusion completely disrupted the meeting.
Sergei's cold gaze shifted toward Alex. It was obvious he disliked her—mainly because she carried the name Wesker. Still, without hesitation, he took a seat.
"We need to cleanse Raccoon City," Sergei said calmly. "That city can no longer be saved."
His tone was icy, as if he couldn't care less about the outrage his words might provoke.
"What do you mean by 'cleanse'?" one of the high-ranking executives protested. "You do realize our reputation is at stake if we do this!"
"Reputation?" Sergei scoffed. "Don't make me laugh. I discussed this with Spencer before coming here. He's the one who approved it."
As he spoke, Sergei glanced at Alex deliberately, clearly trying to humiliate her—after all, she was the one sitting there as Spencer's official representative.
And of course everyone in the meeting room looked at Alex, who clearly had no idea about this sudden decision.
"W-What do you mean Spencer approved this?" several members asked, visibly confused.
"The federal military has already interfered," Sergei continued. "They've deployed troops to secure and seize our corporate assets. The only way to ensure those assets don't fall into someone else's hands… is to destroy them."
The room erupted into murmurs.
"And if you still want to profit," Sergei added coldly, "we can turn Raccoon City into a testing ground. A perfect opportunity to evaluate our biological weapons under real combat conditions."
"Are you insane?!" shouted one of the Elders—a man who had taken control after Marcus's death ten years ago. "Do you want this company investigated? Prosecuted? I will meet Spencer personally and discuss this with him!"
He stood up abruptly, clearly furious. He had no intention of going to prison—he was here for money, nothing more.
Then—
BANG!
A gunshot echoed through the room.
Everyone froze.
The one who fired the shot was Sergei, the pistol still firmly in his hand, smoke slowly rising from the barrel as his expression remained completely emotionless.
