"Do you know why your husband doesn't allow you to enter the other rooms?" Primrose asked gently as she followed Bianca up to the second floor.
"I've never asked," Bianca replied without hesitation. "If he tells me not to do something, then I simply don't do it. That's all." Her voice sounded calm, almost indifferent.
[How would I even know what's inside those rooms?] she thought. [He always locks them, and he never lets the maids or the soldiers open them for me.]
[I don't know what he's hiding in there.]
It was strange.
Averon did not forbid Bianca from entering just one room, but he forbade her from entering dozens of rooms. If Edmund ever told Primrose she was not allowed to enter half the rooms in Noctvaris, she would have thrown him out of his own chamber instead.
