Chapter 280 - My Savior

Glenn, who heard the sound of the car, instantly woke up and used all his strength to push the figures off his body.

But it was too heavy! Many people should have experienced the feeling of being pressed down by a group of people, also known as "a big man lying on your whole body."

He could only do his best not to be bitten by the walkers in front of him, but his strength was weakening more and more, and suddenly the sound of brakes was heard not far from him.

Bang Bang Bang!

Boom!

The gunshots rang in his ears, the head of the walker in front of him suddenly exploded, and blood along with pieces of flesh splattered all over his body. Glenn felt his body gradually lighten, and soon only one walker was left on top of him.

"Yes!"

After struggling to push away the walker on his body, a strange man appeared in front of him. The man looked at him with a smile and, after killing the walker pressing down on Glenn, stretched out his hand and said: "Damn, you look like shit! Hahahaha!"

Glenn grabbed the man's hand and immediately stood up. Looking at the guy who had just saved them, he couldn't feel any ill intent—after all, he had just saved his life.

"Thanks, brother."

When Glenn stood up, he could see in the distance a white RV parked behind the man who had saved him. Judging from the shots fired from the car, he obviously wasn't alone. Just as Glenn wanted to thank him, an anxious shout came from behind the man.

"Don't waste time, it'll be too late when we try to escape!"

Looking at each other suspiciously, Glenn didn't understand what they were talking about, but he saw the man's face change slightly, before returning to a smile.

"I don't think you're alone. Are those people over there your companions?"

"Yes."

"Is there a community nearby? We've been drifting outside for a long time. I gotta tell you, it's shit out there, like a giant balloon of crap. I'd like to take a bath, it's been so long I can't even tell my own smell apart from the stench of those corpses."

"I have to ask our captain about this. Sorry, I'll have a good talk with him and tell him about you."

"It's too late for that shit. There's a huge horde of walkers not far from us. At least thousands of them. Those bastards will trample you in just a few more minutes. We also ran into them on the way."

Hearing this, Glenn looked at the yard behind him and saw that Jason and the others seemed to have finished loading the car, and the RV was already turning around.

"Follow us from behind, I'll explain the situation clearly to my people."

"Alright, let's go!"

...

The modified RV soon reached the road, and Glenn entered the vehicle as the gunfire behind finally stopped.

Through the forest on one side, Daryl climbed onto a military truck, and under the cover fire of his companions, he was not injured.

"Who are those people?"

As soon as Glenn got into the car, he heard Victor's voice and breathed a sigh of relief that no one was hurt.

"They saved me and said they'd been wandering outside for a long time, so I asked them to follow us first."

"Jason, I heard from those people that a huge group of walkers is coming this way, and they helped me without hesitation or I would have died. They shouldn't be bad people—can we take them with us?"

Jason looked at the caravan behind through the window of the modified RV and felt an inexplicable sense of familiarity, but now wasn't the time to think about that.

"George, let's go back."

"Understood, boss!"

...

Not long after the two vehicles left, some people came out of the nearby woods. In fact, they were people, not walking corpses.

All of these people had a W scar on their heads and were members of the Wolves.

"Is it them?"

"Yes, this is one of their trucks, we finally found them!"

"Alright, find out where they live. They can't escape so easily after killing so many of us!"

"Yes, boss."

...

All the human-skin masks in Alexandria had been peeled off the heads of walkers and were drying in the open air at this moment. People were burning plants and sweeping away the ashes according to the plan, preparing for the rigorous process ahead.

The guard at the gate saw the modified RV approaching from a distance, opened the gate ahead of time, and the two vehicles slowly parked in the open space.

Jesus was the first to run up, looking anxiously at the people getting out of the car, not knowing whether the operation had been successful or not.

"Don't worry, we've found many good resources, and we'll soon move on to the next step."

Jesus secretly sighed in relief, and his eyes once again settled on the white RV behind.

"Who are those people?"

"I don't know. They rescued Glenn and said they had nowhere to go, so we brought them back."

Maggie's face changed. She pushed Glenn aside and examined him, fearing that her boyfriend might be injured.

"Don't worry, I'm fine. Let me introduce you to my savior."

After giving his girlfriend a reassuring look, he took her hand and walked toward the front of the other RV.

Only then did he notice that the driver of the other group was a black man, around forty years old, and he should have been the one who had been shooting to cover them earlier. A girl in her twenties with wavy blonde hair was sitting in the passenger seat.

The side door of the car opened, and several people got out. Leading them was the man in his thirties who had rescued him earlier, holding the hand of a beautiful woman with purple hair and a pale face. Five more followed, three men and two women. The men were young and middle-aged, and the two girls were in their twenties.

"Hahaha, this place isn't bad, the atmosphere's real nice."

The one who saved Glenn soon let out a laugh as soon as he stepped out of the white RV, and the woman walking behind him gave him a smack to make him behave, signaling him to pay attention to the people watching him.

Jason explained a few things to the people handling the walker masks and turned around. He immediately looked at the RV behind him, just in time to see the man leading the group.

Shit! Isn't that Negan?

Isn't that Lucille at his side? What's going on? Right now, aren't I preparing a plan to kill all his followers? The Saviors are here?

No, this can't be happening. Why is Lucille here? Is everything over?

Why does this driver look so familiar? And the girl behind—aren't they the father and daughter who gave medicine to Negan?

His mind was completely confused, and he, who had been calm before, now rarely showed a confused expression.

Unaware of his abnormality, Glenn walked up to the man and enthusiastically introduced him.

"This is the person who saved me. If it weren't for him, I'd be dead. Uh, what's your name?"

"Negan. You can call me Negan. This is my wife, Lucille, and this is Dr. Franklin and his team."

Maggie stepped forward to hug Negan and gratefully said: "Thank you for saving my boyfriend!"

"It was nothing. If we hadn't heard his gunshots, we wouldn't have been able to find him. We can only say he was lucky."

Looking at the lively leader of the Saviors in front of him, Jason's mind was spinning quickly, and suddenly a face appeared in his memory. Not long after leaving the prison, they had run into three people in a shopping mall, one of them a long-haired man. At the time, he had felt familiar, but couldn't remember no matter how hard he thought. Now, after seeing Negan, he suddenly remembered.

Wasn't that the man leading the group that kidnapped Negan and took the medicine while interrogating him for a long time? In other words, had his unintentional actions prevented Negan from meeting those bad guys? But that wasn't right. The original character of Negan should have been calmer, even a little cowardly, and only changed after experiencing Lucille's death.

Looking at him now, he wasn't like that. Wasn't that mischievous, extravagant smile the same as the ruler of the Saviors he knew? Some suspicions were not entirely certain in his mind, so he decided to first make contact with this person.

When the two groups were interacting, everyone secretly paid attention to the captain's attitude. No matter if the other side had saved Glenn or not, Jason still had to make the final decision.

Glenn also secretly observed Jason, but the latter's expressionless face made him feel a blow in his heart, wondering if something was wrong with these people.

But after a short time, Jason walked up and extended his hand to Negan.

"Negan, right? I'm the leader of all these people. Although you didn't arrive in the best of circumstances, I can tell you that you're welcome. By the way, my name is Jason."
