Dominique's POV:

Everything around was covered in darkness. I couldn't see neither, but I was feeling as if the wind was blowing across my face. I felt like I was floating in the nothingness but with this strange feeling of reality. I couldn't move, maybe because I wasn't sure if I had a body to do so, at least I didn't feel it, nor any pain or exhaustion either..
After some time of floating in darkness with only my thoughts, I started regaining memory of last events. The moment my Mum came to my room, then we started running to escape the mansion, the first death that I truly witnessed, then the tragic death of Chloe and the picture of her murdered body, the battle with another invaders and finally the split up with my Mum and the long way to the town.
Somehow, I was calm enough to clearly think about it and not get hysterical again, as if something blocked my emotion. Soon enough, after regaining my memories and understanding of them, I started waking up from my sleep.
When I opened my eyes, I was lost for a few seconds. Now only was I carried in the hands of the man I was looking for, whom I didn't know even name of, moreover we were flying in the air, high above the ground.
"Eh?! Aah! W-what is going on?! Where are we going?" I expressed my surprise and wanted to get a few answers.
The stranger with silver-white hair was in no hurry to answer them: "Oh, you woke up already. You sure are fast to do so. Don't panic, we are going to the mansion to look for Cecilia and William."
"You… you know my parents' names? Oh, right, you are the man my Mum told me to find! B-but who are you? And why do you have the same hair as my Mum's?!"
"Oh my, kid, why so many questions? *Sigh* Anyway, hasn't Cecilia told you who were you looking for?"
"N-no…"
His face twisted a bit and it looked like he rolled his eyes. "*Sigh* She doesn't change, whatever. I am surprised that she didn't tell you but nevertheless. Ny name is Kaiser and I am your uncle and Cecilia's older brother."
One word just came out of my mouth: "What?"
A bit earlier, Kaiser's POV:
The sun was already about to raise when I arrived in the town and after getting out of the carriage in the town's plaza, I said: "Huh, I finally arrived here. Just a bit more and I could finally meet with Cecilia and William after nearly a decade! Damn, so long, I hate that mission, but anyway. What's in the past, stays in the past *sigh*"
After strolling for a few minutes through the city in the direction of the road out, I received a magical letter from Cecilia. It had a short range, so I received it inly now, when I came into the radius.
After first reading it, I was tensed up. But it shouldn't be a big of a problem in my opinion. The one who attacked sure is brave but too dumb. I am not sure whether there is a power in this world that could win against William and Cecilia duo. This is straight up suicide.
But it also explains why it was a short-range letter. Cecilia was probably in a hurry, so she didn't have time for it. Anyway, after reading it, the letter dissipated and I was on my way to the mansion.
When I was exiting the city and about to make haste to the mansion, I saw a kid, he was a few hundred metres away, but looking at him, I didn't feel any mana, as if he was a blind spot in the space around. I immediately knew who it was, since I knew well whose life signature it was – my beloved nephew.
As I started making my way to him, Domi fell down unconscious, but the danger was already gone and with me being here he was safe. When I came closer, I said: "Ho, look at who is here. I wonder why Cecilia is not with you. Ha, she doesn't change at all, does she? Anyway, we have to go, Domi."
I immediately started healing him as well as I could. At least, I replenished his mana a bit. But it didn't give me a peace of mind. The letter was sent a long time ago and judging by Domi's condition, something doesn't quite connect. Cecilia should have been here already.
With this unease in my heart, I decided to get to the mansion as fast as possible, so I with Domi in my hands launched into the air climbing high and wasting no time. The longer it was, the worse I felt. My heart was pounding like never before.
Soon after we started flying, Domi woke up.
Dominique's POV:
"What?! You are my uncle?!" I was… shocked, but it didn't quite describe the level of shock I had. I was still mentally and physically weak and my brain was very slow to proceed. But after a few seconds I suddenly remembered that Mum mentioned some uncle a few times when I was a kid.
"Oh, I remember that Mum mentioned you, but why didn't you ever visit us?" The question that begged to be asked.
With his calm and gentle voice, he responded: "I visited you when you were still a baby, but then I went on a very long mission and now when I finally finished it, I came here right after."
"It doesn't sound so convincing."
While we were chatting, we came close to the mansion. For a while now, my "uncle" didn't descend for some reason, so I asked him about it: "Why aren't we getting down? I want to meet Mum and Dad already."
It was still silence for a few seconds, meanwhile Kaiser's body got tense and I started feeling the change in the air. For a brief moment, my "uncle's" aura started leaking out. But he soon noticed it and got back to his senses. Now I was sure, something has happened that got him angry.
Then he said with very serious tone: "Sorry, Domi. It seems that for now you will live with me and won't be able to see your parents."
"Eh, why?! I want to go and see my parents! What happened?! Why I can't do this?! Tell me!" I immediately bursted with questioning his words.
He didn't answer me and started flying in an unknown direction, but I wasn't going to stop resisting.
"Hey! Where are we going?! Get me on the ground and let me see my parents! Let me go, please!" At this moment I already started crying and screaming. Soon after he finally replied.
"Domi, calm down, please. I can't let you go, your parents… they are…"
"What?! What are they?!" I interrupted Kaiser, I was on the verge of collapsing from mental exhaustion and damage.
His expression was getting more like… sad?
"Domi, please, listen to me now. Your body and mind cannot bear this such overload, so you have to calm down while we are going to my mansion. Then we will talk."
I couldn't wait, nor could I control myself. Everything in my body started screaming from pain as tension grew. Kaiser's face concerned me and for some reason I was very emotional. My brain was feeling like my head was going to burst from all the thoughts that suddenly began rushing through my head.
Then I started sweating and I felt like I was ill. Meanwhile I demanded an answer from Kaiser again:
"What happened to my parents? Tell me! I want to know!"
But before he could tell me, I finally understood why my body had such an extreme reaction. It was because deep inside I already knew what happened to my parents…
"Your parents… are gone…"
This was the last thing I heard as well as my last thought before I completely lost consciousness.
