"Naruto, you really do have a mouth that confuses people," Madara said coldly.
Naruto simply smiled.
"Madara, I'm just telling the truth. From the beginning, weren't you just using Obito as a pawn? Just like you did with Nagato—just another piece in your grand plan."
Madara's face twisted in annoyance as he gritted his teeth.
"You little brat!"
Just then, Obito roared with fury:
"Madara! Answer me—was Rin's death part of your plan? Tell me the truth!"
Obito's eyes blazed with rage. If what Naruto said was true, then no matter how cruel and deceitful the world was, he could have endured it—as long as Rin was still alive.
Seeing no point in hiding it anymore, Madara chuckled darkly.
"What's so funny?!" Obito demanded, his fists clenched.
Madara shook his head, smiling bitterly.
"I'm laughing at myself. All those careful plans... yet in the end, what really broke you was a woman. It's unbelievable."
He scoffed and added:
"But it makes sense. If you hadn't treasured her so much, you wouldn't have died the first time."
Obito's face fell. His expression turned from anger to horror.
"So… it's true. Everything Naruto said. Rin's death… was orchestrated by you!"
Madara narrowed his eyes and said coldly:
"Don't be so naive, kid. I was simply opening your eyes to the truth of this world—the sooner, the better."
Obito gritted his teeth. His stomach turned with disgust.
Thinking back—Rin's death was the final push. Madara had made him believe the world was too broken to fix. And Kakashi… Kakashi had killed Rin, yes, but it was because of Madara's manipulation.
In that moment, it all hit Obito like a hammer—he had become the very cause of Rin's death, and Kakashi had paid the price ever since.
"DAMN YOU, MADARA!" Obito roared, his Rinnegan glowing with fury.
He launched forward, intent on attacking—but Rin suddenly grabbed his arm.
"No, Obito," she said softly. "The past is over. I don't want you to suffer because of it anymore."
Obito looked at Rin with guilt and sorrow in his eyes.
"Rin, I…"
Nearby, Kakashi clenched his jaw and stared at Madara with burning rage.
"Unforgivable," he growled. "I never imagined that Rin's death—and Obito's descent into darkness—were all because of you."
His voice broke with pain.
"If Rin hadn't died, and Obito hadn't turned, then Minato-sensei wouldn't have been killed in the Nine-Tails' attack… The village wouldn't have grown so suspicious… The Uchiha wouldn't have been alienated. None of this would have happened."
Lightning crackled in his hand as he activated Raikiri.
The guilt he had buried for years now turned into hatred.
Tobirama Senju stepped forward and shook his head.
"A typical Uchiha. I told you, Brother—you were too soft on him. Look at all the chaos he's caused… even now."
Just as Tobirama finished speaking, Kakashi shouted:
"UNFORGIVABLE!"
He disappeared in a flash, Raikiri leading the charge.
Madara snorted.
"Another insect dares to challenge me?"
With a swipe, Madara activated his Gunbai—the iconic Uchiha war fan. Just as Kakashi was about to strike, Obito appeared beside him and pulled him back.
"Don't. You're no match for him. I'll deal with him myself."
Madara narrowed his eyes.
"Obito… so what if Rin's death was my doing? There are far worse tragedies in this world. Let it all end. Let the world fall asleep!"
Obito's voice trembled with fury.
"Rin could've died... but she shouldn't have died because of me! Especially not from your manipulation. You'll pay for that with your life!"
He summoned his Truth-Seeking Orbs—orbs of black chakra with the power of Yin-Yang Release, capable of nullifying any ninjutsu.
With a whistle, one of the orbs shot toward Madara.
"Truth-Seeking Ball—Piercing Thrust!"
Madara spun his Gunbai.
"Uchiha Reflection!"
With a loud bang, the orb was deflected and sent flying backward. Obito tilted his head to dodge it, then used his chakra to pull it back to his side.
Madara scoffed.
"Obito, we were partners. We were supposed to complete the Eye of the Moon Plan together. Have you forgotten that?"
Obito charged with his Shakujo (the Sage's staff) and shouted:
"Even without you, I can complete it! DIE, MADARA!"
Seeing Obito's relentless assault, Madara frowned.
"You leave me no choice."
He suddenly raised his fingers and activated a Fūinjutsu Seal embedded in Obito.
"Kai!"
Obito gasped, clutching his chest. Pain shot through him as his limbs froze. He collapsed to the ground, sweating and groaning.
"You… you put a seal on my heart… just in case I turned on you!"
Madara stood over him with disdain.
"Of course. I foresaw the possibility that you'd rebel. This seal is more advanced than the one you used on Sasuke. Even as a Jinchūriki, you can't resist it. It's etched into your heart—only death can undo it."
He shook his head.
"I never expected you to betray me… but it doesn't matter now. I'll move forward without you. I'm the one destined to bring the Eye of the Moon Plan to completion."
Suddenly, Black Zetsu emerged from the ground and latched onto Obito.
"What are you doing?!" Obito growled.
Black Zetsu laughed darkly.
"Just lending my strength to Madara-sama's will."
Madara made a hand sign.
"Good work, Black Zetsu."
As Black Zetsu pinned Obito's body, Rin ran forward in panic.
"Obito! Are you okay?!"
She stepped closer—but Black Zetsu scowled.
"This girl again? Because of her, Madara's plans were almost derailed…"
He raised Obito's hand and aimed a Truth-Seeking Orb at her.
Obito's inner voice screamed:
"NO!!!"
Black Zetsu flinched.
"His will… is too strong!"
At that moment, Kakashi rushed in and grabbed Rin, teleporting them to safety. Obito let out a sigh of relief.
Meanwhile, Madara ordered:
"Black Zetsu, bring Obito here."
Black Zetsu nodded and flew toward Madara with Obito in tow.
Tobirama shouted:
"Brother! Naruto! He's trying to control Obito again—attack him now!"
But Madara heard everything and moved fast.
He grabbed Obito, summoned a colossal Susanoo, and enveloped himself and Obito within it. In a flash, he vanished from the battlefield.
"Obito is mine now. With him, I will resurrect myself… and become the Jinchūriki of the Ten-Tails!"
