The drive to the hospital felt like hours, though it was only fifteen minutes.
By the time they arrived, Berlin's water had broken, and the contractions were coming every two minutes.
"Premature labour," the nurse confirmed after a quick examination. "We need to get you to the delivery now."
"N-no, it's too early...I-it's too early," Berlin panted. "I'm only six and a half months. The baby can't come yet..."
"Mrs Wayne, the baby is coming whether we're ready or not." The nurse's voice was kind but firm. "We have an excellent NICU team. Your baby will have the best care possible."
Everything after that was a blur. The delivery room, Bright lights, Voices calling out numbers and medical terms Berlin didn't understand.
Karlos was on his feet before his brain fully processed what was happening. Nurses rushed into the room, their faces tight with concern.
"What is happening?"
"Her blood pressure is dropping," one nurse said, adjusting the IV.
