Leon reached the seat near Mia and sat on it. He reached out and grabbed her hand. He felt it, he felt how everything that happened yesterday was not a dream, and how this moment they were in was as real as it could get.
"Mia, I am... sorry, I... tried... I tried to treat your illness, but I failed... I failed miserably." Leon controlled himself from crying.
"What are you saying? Leon, you didn't fail. Look at me, I'm sitting here, right next to you, so how can you say that you failed?" Mia cupped his head in her hand while she looked into his eyes with care.
Leon's heart jumped from her gaze, and his emotions calmed down. "Thank you." He said.
"What are you saying than kyou for? I will always be there for you, and you know that ." Mia said, while she released his head and grabbed his hand again.
Leon had a sudden thought, so he asked. "Tell me, how do you remember me? And why didn't you call me if you remembered me?"
"I can ask you the same question. But, to tell you the truth, I have no idea; I just opened my eyes and was here, fully recovered from the illness. And for the part that why I did not call you was because I didn't want you to see me as a creep calling you out of the blue and telling you that I am your wife from the future." Mia answered.
"Same as me then." Leon said while he hid the fact that he was the reason for everything that happened.
"Does anyone else know, like Sam, your parents, or Agatha?" Mia hesitated to ask for the last name.
Leon stiffened for a brief moment but decided to ignore the last name altogether. "No, I don't think anyone else know."
"Let's go; I will introduce you to your in-laws." Leon made a sudden announcement, which shocked Mia. "Wait! You mean like, right now."
"Well, it's not like right now, in a few hours at most. Now let's go." Leon grabbed Mia's hand and moved towards the door.
"Then what about our class and Sam? What reason would you give him?. Mia asked from behind.
"I will just tell him the truth." Leon said while he opened the door.
Sam saw Leon and the girl he saw come out of the classroom while holding hands. He got curious and asked. "Let's see what we have here, my best friend holding a girl's hand." Sam said with a pained expression. He wanted to get revenge on Leon for what happened in their room by embarrassing him.
"We are dropping out." Leon dropped the bomb. Both Sam and Mia were shocked. "What! On the first day of the college. Why don't you rethink this matter?" Sam worriedly said. Leon was the first true friend he had made in a long time, so he didn't want Leon to leave him.
"No, you have mistaken something; not only I but you and Mia are also going to drop out." Leon said firmly.
"Why am I included in your plan? And who is Mia?" Sam had no idea why he was included and who Mia was. " As your best friend, I suggest you drop out and join me. You don't have to answer now, but you don't have much time. In two weeks I need a answer from you and this here is my girlfriend Mia." Leon said in a flat tone. He also felt a glare on the back of his head.
"Now then, I have a very important matter that needs my attention, so let's meet again in two weeks." Leon walked towards the exit. But Sam didn't hear the last part. He was confused as why all his friends had to leave him and why he was all alone.
As he got out of his thoughts, he only realised that he was alone, standing in a park near a lake. He had no memory of how he got here. As a matter of fact, he was nowhere near the campus or in the central city. He was in Bronze Bridge City his hometown, where he grew up to the age of 8 until he fled this city because of his father.
'How did I get here? I can't remember. What time is it?' he questioned himself and took out a phone to see what time it was (4:30). "What! Four hours? I don't remember anything." He voiced his thoughts out.
He also has a message from Leon, so he opened it.
Leon: Hey, don't think too much about the offer; just take your time. I would always support your choice' and that's my job to do as your friend.
"A friend, you say, then where are you now, my friend?" He mumbled under his breath. "Why the hell am I here?" He yelled and punched a nearby tree. "Why? Why? Why? Why am I all alone again? I just made new friend and now he is not with me. why?"
"No, you're not alone." He heard a voice behind and turned. He saw Sofia sitting on a bench and beside her a box of tissues. He walked towards her, sat on the bench, and with his bloodied hand took a tissue to wipe his tears.
"You followed me?" Sam said in a hoarse voice.
"I am sorry, but when I saw your eyes were not focused and you were mumbling something about 'not again.'." Sofia said in a concerned tone. "Can you tell me what 'not again' means? Did something like this happen before? You don't have to tell me if you're not comfortable."
Sofia knew what it feels like to not have someone to rely on, to not have a friend to whom you could share your secret, and to not have a someone to watch your back. "Don't worry, I won't tell anyone, not even your best ..."
Sam interrupted her and said in a melancholic tone. "My mother died when I was 5. After a few months after her death, my dad started beating me, saying, 'You were the reason she died' and that went on for a few years. When I was eight years old, I was malnourished, had no friends, and no one would talk to me. But I got a gift from someone; it was a puppy, and I named him Shiro.I cared for Shiro for months, hiding him from my father, but one day he found out and killed Shiro on this very lake. After that, i fled from my home to another city and lived like an orphan but was bullied often. When I was twelve, I joined a gym and martial arts dojo with the money that I stashed during all those. Some of them were stolen some were given to me as a beggar, and some were from errands that I did. When I reached seventeen, I was experienced in fighting several styles, so I took revenge on the bullies that bullied me. I was also going to take my revenge on my father, but he was killed by a drunken man for money. And now that everything was going nicely, my friend left me."
"What are you saying? He didn't leave you. He messaged me and said to keep an eye on you. He was worried that you would do something stupid." Sofia revealed the truth.
"Really he messaged you. But you could have said no; we have only met a few days ago." Sam asked in confusion.
"What are you saying? Aren't we friends as well? And I was also worried about you." The last sentence only audible to herself.
"We are friends? Then thank-you for following me. Let's go get some bandage done." Sam said while he walked towards the exit of the park.
"Yes, we are stupid." Sofia mumbled.
"Did you say something?" Sam asked. "No, nothing." Sofia answered and followed Sam.

Leon and Mia arrived at home. They were late because they revisited their favorite spots to hang out.
They entered and saw Claire scolding Martin about something. "Hey, Mom why are you wasting your brain cells on him?" Leon locked eyes with Martin.
"Baby." Claire said and hugged Leon. "You said that it was something urgent, so I came home a hour early. Now tell me what was so urgent that you had to bunk your first day in college." She said and urged Leon to spill the beans.
"Mom, Dad I am dropping out of the college and getting married on (31st May)."
