Chapter 117 - Returning Home

Third Person's POV.

Percy helped Gemini stand up from the gravesite after spending hours there, his arm wrapping securely around Gemini's shoulders. The boy was exhausted—his body trembling, his face streaked with tears. Still, the intense, tearful vow Percy had made—to Nana and his family—somehow sparked a tiny flicker of strength inside Gemini. It was fragile, but real.

"Where to now, Bunny?" Percy's voice was soft, gentle as a whisper. "The hotel? Or back to school?"

Gemini shook his head slowly, his voice barely more than a whisper. "Nana's house," he said. "I need to go home. Just for a little while."

Percy nodded without hesitation. "Okay," he said quietly. "Let's go home." He instructed the driver to take them to Nana's house. But he also made sure they stopped to get proper food—something warm, comforting, Nana's favorite. Percy knew Gemini needed more than just words; he needed nourishment for his body and soul.

When they finally arrived, Ohio was waiting. She had wrapped up some important arrangements, her face a mixture of relief and heartbreak. She looked at them both, her eyes lingering on Gemini's pale face, then she stepped forward and pulled Percy aside for a moment.

"Thank you, Percy," Ohio whispered softly, her voice trembling. "He wouldn't have made it through this silence without you."

Percy squeezed her shoulder gently. "Get home safe, Ohio. And please, keep an eye on his courses for me. We'll be back soon."

Ohio nodded, then got into her car and drove away. Gemini watched her leave, another piece of his life slipping away—the connection to school, to the world outside this house. He turned to Percy, feeling the weight of everything suddenly pressing down.

"I need to stay here for a few days," Gemini said, his voice flat, numb. "I can't go back to school right now. I just… I need time here."

Percy's face softened. He reached out and pulled Gemini into a gentle side hug. "That's okay," Percy said softly. "Take all the time you need. I'll stay here with you. We'll figure out your classes later. Nothing is more important than you right now."

Gemini sighed, looking around the small, aging living room. The silence felt heavy, filled with memories and loss. The reality of everything crashed over him like a tidal wave.

"I have to start clearing things out," Gemini whispered, rubbing his eyes tiredly. "The house… I don't know what the bank will do with the mortgage now. I have to pack up Nana's things."

The thought of dealing with banks, handling her belongings, and facing all those memories overwhelmed him. His shoulders sagged under the weight.

Percy gently led him to the old sofa and sat him down. "Stop," Percy's voice was quiet but firm. "You don't have to move anything. Not now. Not ever."

Gemini frowned. "What are you talking about? Percy, the house has a mortgage. I don't know how I'm going to pay it. It's too much."

Percy reached into his jacket pocket and pulled out a folded legal document—neatly crisp and official. He handed it to Gemini.

"You don't have to worry about the mortgage anymore," Percy said, his eyes steady and kind. "I called Uncle Phillip right after I left the cemetery. He worked with the bank's legal team. It's all done."

Gemini slowly unfolded the paper. It was a formal deed, stamped and signed. The mortgage had been paid in full. The house was now officially his—free and clear. The property belonged to Nana's estate, which was being transferred to him as the sole heir.

He stared at the document, then slowly looked up at Percy, speechless. "You… you paid it off?"

Percy nodded gently. "Yes. This is your home, Bunny. The only home you've ever truly known. You don't have to worry about banks or payments. You can breathe. You can mourn. Remember Nana here. This house stays exactly where it is. It's yours now."

Tears welled up in Gemini's eyes—tears of shock, gratitude, and relief. He couldn't believe it. The house where he'd grown up was now truly his. All because Percy had quietly, powerfully, taken care of everything.

"Percy," Gemini's voice trembled. "I… I can't accept this."

Percy gently took the deed, folded it back, and looked at him with a soft smile. "You already have," he said softly. "Think of this as space. Time. An opportunity to heal. That's all I want for you right now."

Gemini hesitated, then nodded, leaning into Percy's embrace. He buried his face into Percy's neck, feeling the warmth, the safety, the quiet strength that Percy offered. For a moment, all the pain, the grief, and the chaos melted away.

"This is your home now," Percy's words echoed in his mind. "You don't have to carry everything alone."
