Chapter 192 – No Match for Them, a Bunch of Battle Maniacs

High in the air, Son Goku and Vegeta clashed fiercely, while down below, Raditz and Nappa stood around Lin Qi, looking thoroughly disappointed.

Son Gohan appeared equally dejected. He looked at Piccolo and asked, "Uncle Piccolo... why can't I transform into a Super Saiyan God?"

"Yeah..." Raditz, eyeing the chicken drumstick still in Lin Qi's hand, had lost all appetite. "This is just too demoralizing!"

"What exactly went wrong? How come that guy Vegeta can transform into a Super Saiyan God in an instant?"

Watching the intense battle above, Nappa's eyes were filled with envy. He'd long since been left in the dust—no longer jealous, only full of admiration.

"It's because you guys haven't reached the required threshold yet. To enter a godly form, you need to break into the sixth magnitude at minimum. With your combat power? Tsk..."

Beerus, in an exceptionally good mood as he feasted on an endless spread of delicacies, even felt inclined to offer a few pointers.

"The sixth magnitude... in numerical units, that's somewhere between a vigintillion and a googolplex," Gohan muttered, living up to his scholarly nature as he quickly began to calculate.

"As for me... my current power level is only in the trillions..."

"??!!" Nappa and Raditz were both left utterly baffled. They understood each word on its own, but string them together and the meaning was completely lost on them.

Lin Qi patted the two cannon fodder on the shoulders. "You've got to work harder. Don't just hole up at Kami's Lookout—get out there and spar with some strong opponents!"

"Yeah..." Raditz looked at Nappa, then glanced back up at Vegeta mid-battle. "Alright then, let's get things sorted and head into space!"

"What do you mean sorted? We're not leaving until Vegeta's done fighting! We're going to Namek to look for the Dragon Balls first!" Nappa shouted in protest.

Lin Qi raised an eyebrow, intrigued by their discussion. "Why the Namekian Dragon Balls?"

"To resurrect the Saiyan race! To revive Planet Vegeta!" Raditz responded eagerly. As Lin Qi's loyal lapdog, he left no question unanswered.

As for why they were bypassing Earth's Dragon Balls, it was simply because Earth's Shenron couldn't grant that many wishes in one go.

"Oh..." Lin Qi replied casually, his gaze drifting back to the sky and the fighting Vegeta.

"Kakarot, take this seriously or you'll lose!" Vegeta blocked Goku's punch with mocking ease, overflowing with confidence.

Their power levels were neck and neck, making the battle exceptionally intense. From midair to the stratosphere, and then back to the ground again—they just couldn't gain the upper hand over each other.

Everyone watching went from pumped with excitement to bored out of their minds, especially as night fell and the fight dragged on without conclusion.

"Final... Flash!!"

"Kame... Hame..."

"Ha!!"

As the night deepened, Goku and Vegeta finally realized that neither could beat the other.

Even their most powerful ultimate moves ended in a draw. The midair energy clash exploded in a brilliant burst, lighting up the sky like fireworks.

Boom boom boom!

When the smoke cleared, both Goku and Vegeta fell back to the courtyard in a battered, exhausted state.

It was Beerus's first visit to Earth, and he'd eaten from afternoon until the evening lights came on. Looking down at the two warriors in the yard, he said,

"Not bad, not bad. I'm quite satisfied with this planet. I think I'll keep it."

As soon as those words left his mouth, the crowd—who'd been anxiously observing—breathed a collective sigh of relief.

"Well then, thank you for your hospitality," Whis said, glancing at the yawning Beerus and getting ready to leave.

"Lin Qi, are you coming with us, or staying here?"

"You guys go ahead. I've got other things to do." Lin Qi patted his slightly bulging belly and waved them off nonchalantly.

He had already achieved Super Saiyan 7 and had even defeated Beerus, so there was no need to linger in the divine realm any longer.

Still panting in the courtyard, Goku and Vegeta perked up when they heard Whis's offer. They quickly leapt up to the second-floor balcony.

"Huh? You're just going to leave like that?" Goku asked, clearly disappointed. "Lord Beerus, can't you take me with you?"

"Hmph. Why would he take you? Lord Beerus is obviously interested in me!" Vegeta shoved Goku aside to the back.

"You said it yourself, Lord Beerus—didn't you say you'd take me to train with you?"

Beerus scratched his ear with his pinky, clearly uninterested. "I was just saying that offhand..."

Honestly, even if he did bring them along, he had no intention of actually training them!

"What, do you both want to become Gods of Destruction now?" Beerus looked at the two, who had now started shoving each other.

Goku shook his head vigorously. "No, I'm not interested in being a God of Destruction—I just want to get stronger!"

"Please..." Goku brought out his signature move—palms pressed together, pleading sincerely. "I really want to grow stronger, Lord Beerus!"

"Tch..." Now Beerus felt a bit troubled. He had eaten so much of their food and even said something like that earlier...

Flatly refusing them now felt a little off. But he had never taught a disciple before!

Beerus scratched his head in frustration, then tossed the responsibility to Whis. "If you really want to, go learn from Whis."

Classic scapegoating.

Goku looked at Whis, who stood quietly by Beerus's side, then asked, slightly disappointed, "He's the one who'll teach us? But I kinda wanted... you..."

Before he could finish, Vegeta abruptly cut in, "Fine! I'm in!"

His determined tone and the expression on his face—like he'd just won the lottery—left Goku baffled. "Vegeta, don't you want Lord Beerus to train you?"

"Idiot!" Vegeta wasn't about to tell Goku the real reason. He rushed to stand by Whis's side.

After all, Lin Qi had already told them—Whis was even stronger than Beerus! Why wouldn't you choose the stronger teacher?

Beerus finally spoke up, "Hey now, are you looking down on Whis?"

"Whis may look like Beerus's servant, but he's actually his master!" Lin Qi kindly reminded Goku again.

"His power surpasses even mine and Beerus's!"

Hearing that, Goku was stunned. His eyes nearly popped out of his head. "This oddly dressed guy... is really that strong?"

"And he's Lord Beerus's teacher?"

"Heh heh..." Whis didn't mind at all. "Well, if Lord Beerus says so, then—are you both willing?"

Goku swallowed hard. "O-Of course! I'm in!"

And so, Goku and Vegeta ended up following Whis—just like in the original story, though the process this time had been impossibly convoluted.

At least it was a satisfying conclusion. Lin Qi didn't go with them. He already had his sights set on his next destination.

Watching Whis and Beerus leave, with Goku and Vegeta in tow—

"They're all gone..." Everyone was left with complicated feelings.

"Damn you, Goku..." Chi-Chi, who had tried over and over to get him to stay, screamed in rage when she realized he'd completely ignored her.
