Chapter 160: The Junior Division Concludes, the Adult Division Begins
He shouted in both anger and agitation, "Since you know this is a Supreme Kai, you should understand how noble his status is!"
"And yet you dared to speak such vile words and even rejected Lord Supreme Kai!"
"Hm!? Are you talking to me?" Lin Qi raised an eyebrow, sweeping a cold glance at Kibito behind Supreme Kai Shin.
His eyes were frigid and merciless. A powerful aura of destruction erupted from Lin Qi's body, laced with a strong killing intent.
The aura flashed for just a moment, but to Kibito, it felt like a devastating catastrophe.
He felt a chill rush straight to his brain, as if he'd been doused in a thousand years' worth of ice water. Trembling, he stumbled backward.
"Ugh..." Supreme Kai Shin had sensed Lin Qi's strength, but he hadn't expected just his presence alone would be enough to terrify Kibito.
Cold sweat beaded on his forehead. He quickly stepped forward, positioning himself between the two. "Please, sir... don't be angry. My attendant meant no harm!"
"I know. Otherwise, he wouldn't still be standing there," Lin Qi said flatly, his expression already devoid of any prior friendliness.
He didn't bother with the two any longer and turned to leave. Lin Qi had completely lost interest in them.
"He's not even as good as that Kibito from GT," Lin Qi muttered.
As Lin Qi walked away, neither Supreme Kai Shin nor Kibito tried to stop him—not because they didn't want to, but because they couldn't...
They could clearly sense the overwhelming power radiating from Lin Qi, that savage, destructive energy... It felt as though he could annihilate everything.
He even gave off a pressure more terrifying than Majin Buu!
"Lord Supreme Kai, what should we do now? If that Saiyan wants to interfere, I'm afraid..." Kibito lowered his head as he spoke, his voice quieter and tinged with guilt. He regretted his earlier impulsiveness, which had disrupted Supreme Kai's plans.
"Don't blame yourself, Kibito! You were just trying to protect me!" Supreme Kai Shin gazed at Lin Qi's retreating figure, still visibly shaken.
"That man isn't just terrifyingly strong—I couldn't even read his thoughts... But you actually managed to get a reaction out of him!"
"But... Lord Supreme Kai, what about our plan?" Kibito asked worriedly.
"Don't worry!!" Supreme Kai Shin turned around with a reassuring look.
"That Saiyan didn't cause us any trouble... We'll just avoid him as much as possible in the next phase of the plan!"
Hearing his words, Kibito finally let out a small breath of relief.
If his rashness had caused Lord Supreme Kai's plan to fail, that would've been an unforgivable sin.
"Sigh... Lin Qi, where did you go? The match is already over!" Krillin said regretfully when he saw Lin Qi return.
Such an exciting climactic moment—and Lin Qi actually missed it!
"Oh? So who won in the end?" Lin Qi asked with interest, turning to look at Vegeta.
Smack
At that moment, Vegeta—whose expression had been dark the whole time—suddenly slapped a hand on Goku's shoulder and flashed an arrogant smile.
"Looks like my son's the stronger one, Kakarot!"
"Huh?" Goku was confused at first, but quickly laughed, "Well, what can you do? Hahaha…"
He chuckled awkwardly. He never imagined Vegeta would care about something so trivial...
In truth, he saw himself in those two little ones, and viewed the whole thing as a playful scuffle between kids, not a real competition.
"Well, we should get back to our match too. Let's go." Krillin shrugged and called everyone to head back.
"True!" Goku rubbed his chin. "Let's grab a bite to eat first! I'm starting to get hungry…"
Meanwhile, Videl, who was still gripping Gohan by the collar, hadn't even noticed the others leaving. She continued pressing him.
"Just who are you people!?"
The battle between those two kids had completely shattered her worldview.
"Ha... Hahaha... You're overthinking this, classmate!" Gohan looked like he was dying of embarrassment.
Scratching the back of his head, cold sweat pouring down his face, he tried to wriggle out of it. "Goten and Trunks were just... um..."
"Magic tricks! That's right, just tricks!! You know... sleight of hand, ha ha..."
Lin Qi, the last to leave, glanced back at Gohan's cringe-worthy performance and shook his head.
Why even bother trying to lie? Videl's not stupid—does she really look like she'd buy that nonsense?
What Lin Qi didn't know was that after a long silence, Videl finally let go of Gohan's collar, eyeing him suspiciously. "Really... is that so?"
"Of course... hahaha..." Gohan cursed Goten inwardly while also lamenting his ruined outfit.
Such a cool battle suit... now totally wasted!
As the youth division came to a close, thunderous cheers erupted from the audience during the intermission.
"Mr. Satan has arrived!"
"Satan! Satan! Long live Satan!"
Just as Lin Qi turned a corner, he saw the central ring surrounded by burly men, with Mr. Satan standing proudly at the center.
He took off his cape with a dramatic flair and tossed it behind him, planting his hands on his championship belt and striking a pose so awkward—
Even Lin Qi cringed hard.
"That's... painful to look at."
Time passed quickly, and soon it was nearly time for the adult division. The waiting area buzzed with excitement as anticipation built among the contestants.
Everyone was revved up, whether it was for the thrill of combat or the lure of the prize money—each one eager for this clash of titans to begin.
A staff member stood in confusion, watching Lin Qi move in and out of the contestant area, glancing repeatedly at the registration list. "This guy... what's his name again... did he even sign up?!"
After eating, everyone headed backstage to the contestant area. Just like in the original plot, they inevitably encountered Supreme Kai Shin approaching—or rather, floating—toward them.
The way he acted so familiar with the group left Goku and the others momentarily stunned. They never expected to see others on Earth who could fly...
Two white-haired strangers, clearly unknown to everyone present.
Exchanging glances, Goku leaned in and whispered, "Lin Qi, do you know this guy?"
"Met him in the restroom," Lin Qi replied offhandedly.
Lin Qi's indifferent expression made it clear—Supreme Kai Shin was absolutely going to look for a chance to get close to Goku and the gang.
Otherwise, their plan wouldn't get off the ground at all. But Lin Qi just wasn't buying what Supreme Kai Shin was selling.
If showing off could be a meal, Shin would've died from overeating by now!
