Chapter 74: Demon God, Demigra
Trunks stood frozen in place, looking utterly dumbfounded. Vegeta crossed his arms and cast a cold glance toward Lin Qi. "What's going on?"
"Chronoa sealed herself and Mechikabura's group outside of time!" Lin Qi replied irritably.
He was frustrated too. Couldn't they have sealed him along with them?
Wouldn't fighting Mechikabura have been worth it? If he won, Chronoa could have returned safely. If he lost...
What was he even thinking? How could he lose?
"What about that red-haired magic brat?" Gohan glanced toward the courtyard. "Did he get sealed away too?"
"Tch… That kid's just one of Mechikabura's lackeys, a subordinate of Demigra! And Demigra's a traitor!" Lin Qi's irritation grew as he explained.
"Those guys are not on the same side as us!"
"And neither are you!" Trunks, who had just set down a scroll, stepped out with a cold glare at Lin Qi.
"..." Lin Qi was taken aback by Trunks' reaction. Was he being disliked now?
After gathering everyone together, Trunks pulled out a few fragments of crystalline shards and explained, "These are Time Crystals left behind from various eras!"
"Back then, when things were urgent, the Supreme Kai of Time entrusted them to me for safekeeping when we went to the Demon Realm!"
"Now, I ask each of you to take one and return to your respective timelines!" Trunks' voice was heavy, his mood even heavier.
"Hmph, I don't need such a thing!"
Vegeta, having finished bandaging his wounds, threw on his Patrol uniform and coldly declined.
Lin Qi raised an eyebrow but didn't reach for the crystals either. Taking them now would be utterly disgraceful.
"Yeah, we don't need them!" Goku chimed in, his body wrapped in bandages, yet his voice was as energetic as ever.
"Instead of this thing, I care more about how we're going to defeat those guys!" Vegeta crossed his arms, speaking angrily.
"I want another fight with those guys too! This time, we'll settle it for sure!" Goku clenched his fists and grinned excitedly.
"Right! We have to lend the Supreme Kai of Time a hand!" Gohan added, his voice firm.
"Even if we all go back, are you planning to sneak off alone to save the Supreme Kai of Time?" Goten asked with a cheeky smile, resting his hands behind his head.
"After all, it's a fight whether it's just you or all of us together, right?"
"Lin Qi, isn't that right?" Goten nudged the silent Lin Qi with his elbow. "You've got to make up for your mistakes!"
"Seriously..." Lin Qi's voice was icy as he scanned the group, his lips curling into a faint smirk.
"My goal has always been to have a showdown with Mechikabura!"
"Everyone…" Trunks' voice choked up, and for a moment, he didn't know what to say.
"Alright!" Swallowing his emotions, Trunks clenched his fists and declared loudly, "Let's go save the Supreme Kai of Time together!"
"We are the Time Patrol!"
As Trunks' words fell, Lin Qi turned to glance at the clock parts above the courtyard.
Mechikabura had been sealed. The next target could only be Demigra.
That guy must already be making his move!
Had he escaped the cracks of time yet?
For now, everyone stayed at the Time Nest, training and sparring together.
Time passed slowly. As Trunks searched for Chronoa, half a month slipped by unnoticed.
"Time… Time…"
The Tokitoki Bird circled endlessly in the air above the courtyard.
Lin Qi leaned against a tree, a blade of grass between his teeth, staring blankly into the sky.
Trunks and Goten were sparring, while Vegeta and Goku trained on the other side.
Under the tree, Gohan sat cross-legged at a table, flipping through books, jotting notes, and muttering to himself.
"Odd functions: origin symmetry means f(-x) = -f(x)… symmetry about the y-axis, and overall integrals…"
"Look!" Lin Qi suddenly sat up, taking the grass from his mouth and pointing toward the sky.
A black hole appeared, and several figures emerged from within. The newcomers were none other than Demigra, the Demon God who had betrayed Mechikabura, along with his secretary Robelu and the familiar Chamel.
"Magic brat?" Gohan looked up, adjusted his glasses, and greeted warmly, "Long time no see… Where have you been?"
"Damn it, so you really weren't on our side!" Seeing Chamel, Trunks clenched his fists in fury.
He felt utterly betrayed!
"Tch… These guys come and go as they please!" Vegeta growled, glaring at the trio in the air.
"Who are these people?" Goku tilted his head, looking puzzled.
Hovering behind Demigra, Chamel gave no reaction, merely casting a disdainful glance at Goku before sneering at everyone else.
"Hmph, why should I answer your questions? You're all still so inefficient!"
"Damn it…" Trunks glared at Demigra. This guy had once declared his ambition to rule the world…
And now his target was the Supreme Kai of Time's throne. This was trouble!
"Hahaha…" Demigra, gripping his staff, swept a cold gaze over everyone before focusing on the Tokitoki Bird perched on Lin Qi's shoulder.
"Hand over the Tokitoki Bird!"
"No way!" Trunks rejected without hesitation.
Lin Qi gave Demigra a cold glance. Had this guy come for the Tokitoki Bird? Or was he here to propose some kind of alliance?
"Even though I don't fully understand the situation, they're enemies, right?" Goku turned to Trunks for confirmation.
"Yes!" Trunks nodded vehemently.
"Heh heh…" With a shout, Goku transformed into Super Saiyan 4 and launched himself at Demigra, fist swinging.
"If they're enemies, we'll just beat them!"
"Tch…" Vegeta let out a shout as well, charging forward without hesitation. "Leave it to me…"
"Everyone's fired up!" Goten remarked, then turned to Trunks. "Let's go too!"
This sudden fight left Lin Qi speechless.
Demigra, the traitorous Demon God, must have learned something from Chamel and escaped the cracks of time again!
Now that Mechikabura was sealed, Chronoa's fate was uncertain, and the Patrol was leaderless.
This was indeed the perfect opportunity for revenge. If Demigra didn't seize this chance to demand the Tokitoki Bird and the power of time, he'd truly be wasting his potential!
