"Evelyn?" Rael called out, slowly approaching her.
His body felt slightly wonky, and he was sure he wasn't exactly all there at the moment.
But even so, that didn't stop him from approaching Evelyn. She simply stared back at him, and after a few short moments, she let out a sigh.
"What did you hope to accomplish by provoking Minos?" she asked, resting her head against the bark. "Was it arrogance or greed?"
"Neither," Rael said plainly and sat down beside her.
"I thought I could take him out of his shell and figure out more about him... It was an oversight on my part. I knew he was sensitive, but I still pushed his buttons."
Evelyn nodded. "At least you know. Wait for now. We're reconstructing your body."
"Did he actually kill me...?" Rael asked, shocked.
