"Rewards? Right... Rewards..." Vatyra grumbled, and then raised her right arm.
Feathers covered her right arm in an instant as she reached over and plucked a single one. Then, she stepped forward and held the feather out with great reluctance.
"Take it."
Rael stared at it for a moment, then tilted his head.
"Do I eat it...?"
Vatyra's eyes widened. "E-Eat it? Are you insane? Dragon-piss brain... No... Calm down..."
She took several deep breaths, but the red flames still escaped her body, slightly burning the ground.
"You don't eat it," Vatyra said, narrowing her eyes. "You will sit down and absorb the feather... Stupid dragon. Have you never absorbed a treasure before?"
"Nope. I'm still pretty young," Rael replied with a hum. "So how do I absorb it? Do I guide the feather's mana toward my heart or something?"
"..."
"That's the gist of it."
Rael sighed. "I feel like you could've told me that instead. But thanks anyway."
