Rose opened the door of her room to see Caius seated with his arms crossed. "You're late."
"Your Majesty," she said and rushed towards him.
Rose didn't think about it; she fell onto him in an instant, and Caius unfolded his arms to hold her.
"Did something happen?" he asked with a frown.
She shook her head as she sat across his lap with her head resting in the crook of his neck. Rose could feel herself slowly calm down as she rested against him. She didn't realize just how agitated she had been until she saw him.
"Where did you go?" he asked with a frown.
"Just an errand," Rose said as she let out a breath. "My maids needed me to confirm something."
"Couldn't they have brought it to you?"
"It's fine. I didn't mind." She stood up and, without showing him her face, walked to the dresser.
