Rose settled into bed where the maids had laid her after dressing her for sleep. She looked up at the wooden top of the four-poster bed, and it looked as though it was spinning; then she realized she had just tilted her head wrong. But when she adjusted, it felt as though she was spinning.
It wasn't an uncomfortable feeling, just a woozy, lightheaded sensation. Rose particularly felt weightless, and it felt nice to just look around the room.
She looked ahead to where Caius still sat at the table, long after the servants had cleared the dishes. He seemed a little absorbed in his thoughts, and Rose couldn't help but wonder when he would leave.
"When will you leave?" she asked.
It wasn't until she saw Caius's slightly shocked expression that she realized she had actually asked this out loud. He leaned forward and rested his elbow on the table.
"I have no such plans," he replied, he sounded very pleased with himself.
