Chapter 96 - Chapter 95 : Fighting

"Snake Sulker Hands!" "Chakra-Enhanced Strike!" "Shurikin Whatever Jutsu!"

Huh? Something weird just got mixed in there.

After some time, the group had several forehead protectors in their hands, continuing their hunt for ninjas from other villages.

A short while later, Jiraiya suddenly sniffed the air and tensed. "Be careful. The smell of blood is strong."

Tsunade and Orochimaru immediately took defensive stances. While Jiraiya's combat skills weren't the best among them, his nose was unparalleled. He could pick up the scent of perfume on women from the outskirts of a village. If anyone could detect something before the rest, it was him.

The group proceeded cautiously, but soon enough, a brutal sight unfolded before them.

Dismembered limbs littered the ground, blood pooling around them, and in the midst of the carnage stood a white-haired boy, calmly wiping his blade.

Hatake Sakumo.

Naruto narrowed his eyes, recalling something from his memories. If he remembered correctly, Kakashi's father came to the realization that shinobi weren't just tools for killing after eliminating Sasori's parents. And now…

Naruto glanced at the lifeless Rock-nin scattered around Sakumo and shook his head. Forget it. Not worth wasting energy on.

Jiraiya swallowed hard, nudging Tsunade and Orochimaru. "Let's go. Now."

Sakumo made no move to stop them. His cruelty was reserved for enemy forces, but the higher-ups? They likely preferred a heartless, obedient White Fang over a legend whose growing reputation could threaten their control.

"Damn, I think I almost pissed myself," Jiraiya muttered, still trembling. Tsunade and Orochimaru, however, didn't react the same way.

Jiraiya came from a civilian background, so he hadn't been exposed to the worst of the shinobi world. By contrast, Uchiha Itachi had been taken to a battlefield at the age of six to witness the realities of war. Although he hadn't turned out exactly the way Fugaku wanted, he at least understood its brutality.

Naruto exhaled deeply.

When he first arrived in this world, he hadn't felt truly connected to it. It was like playing an RPG in offline mode—no real immersion.

But as time passed, and he experienced the kindness of the people in Konoha, he realized this was a living, breathing world. Real people lived and died here.

And he would protect them—the dream of the First Hokage wasn't lost on him.

That didn't mean he was some self-sacrificing fool like Itachi. If people he didn't care about had to die, then so be it.

His gaze flickered toward Tsunade, and he sighed.

"I've spent my life trying to bring peace to the world—for the people I love and the ones who love me."

"Tsunade," Naruto suddenly called out.

"What?" She turned, confused.

Naruto drew a circle on the bark of a nearby tree. "See this? I like you like this circle. There's no end."

Tsunade flushed instantly. "Are you an idiot?! What the hell are you saying?!"

Jiraiya, sensing a threat to his long-standing one-sided crush, shouted, "Tsunade! Me too! I'm also this circle!"

Tsunade's face darkened as she pointed at the circle Naruto had drawn. "Yeah? Well, my feelings for you are like this circle too—there's no beginning."

Jiraiya blinked. "Huh? What does that mean?"

Orochimaru sighed. "Idiot."

Before Jiraiya could get his brain working, a voice echoed from ahead. "Wind Release: Cutting Tornado!"

A violent gust of wind, laced with chakra, surged toward them, sharp as blades.

Naruto's eyes narrowed. "Earth Style: Earth Wall!"

A massive wall of stone rose, shielding them as countless wind blades carved deep gashes into its surface.

Jiraiya, Tsunade, and Orochimaru let out sighs of relief.

When the dust settled, they saw a trio of Suna-nin standing in their path.

One of them sneered. "Hmph. Not bad. You actually blocked my One-Star Weasel Scythe."

The other two carried a puppet on their backs, and one of them was lugging around what looked like an oversized jar.

Jiraiya frowned. "What the hell is that?"

"No idea," Tsunade muttered. "Since when do Suna-nin carry pickle jars and toys into battle? Are they playing house?"

The puppet user's face turned red with rage. "Damn brats! These are elite puppets developed by the great Second Kazekage! How dare you mock them?!"

With that, he flicked his fingers, sending the puppet flying forward. Its wooden mouth opened wide, launching a barrage of poison-tipped senbon.

Orochimaru darted backward, dodging the attack with ease.

"Careful!" Tsunade warned. "Those weapons are poisoned!"

True enough, the senbon embedded in a nearby tree released white smoke, sizzling ominously.

Suddenly, the puppet extended two sharp blades from its arms and lunged.

Tsunade didn't hesitate. Ducking under its strike, she drove her fist into its chest.

The puppet shattered like a brittle toy.

"Nani?!" The Suna-nin's eyes widened in horror. "That thing was made from reinforced ironwood! How did she break it with a single punch?!"

The second Suna-nin—the one carrying the jar—stepped forward. "Hmph. Looks like I'll have to test out the great Samana-sama's new technique!"

He twisted the lid off the jar, and sand poured out in a massive wave.

Jiraiya, Tsunade, and Orochimaru leaped back as the sand surged forward, tearing a deep trench into the earth.

"What the hell?!" Jiraiya gaped. "That's terrifying!"

The three quickly closed in, aiming to cut him down, but the sand formed a barrier in an instant, blocking their kunai.

Before they could adjust their strategy, Naruto made his move.

"Water Style: Dike-Breaking Torrent!"

A massive surge of water crashed into the sand, instantly soaking it.

"Nani?!" The Suna-nin's jaw dropped.

Orochimaru saw his chance and closed in, delivering a rapid series of blows.

The Suna-nin tried to use his sand to defend, but the wet grains were too heavy to manipulate properly.

He barely had time to react before Orochimaru's final punch sent him flying.

The last Suna-nin, the wind user, panicked. "Damn you! Wind Release: Great Scythe—"

Before he could finish, Naruto appeared behind him.

"Great, great, great—your sister is great! Another ADC is feeding, and the grass on your last grave is taller than you!"

Jiraiya, Tsunade, and Orochimaru stared blankly at Naruto. What the hell was he even saying?

Shrugging, they stripped the Suna-nin of their forehead protectors and prepared to continue their hunt for Kumo-nin and Ame-nin.

Just then, a loud impact echoed through the area.

"Rotation!" A voice called out from within the smoke.

As the dust settled, a white-eyed figure emerged, flanked by a green-clad shinobi with bowl-cut hair and another holding a large sealing scroll.

"Well," Naruto muttered, cracking his knuckles. "This just got interesting."
