Chapter 331 - These Were Just The First Two Notifications.

{Hex is back guys, I am so happy, he's the one who inspired this fic and I am so glad he found himself again, love the guy.}

~~~
Ren leaned back against his headboard and opened the system interface. The familiar translucent blue panels shimmered into existence in front of him, lines of text cascading softly like falling rain. For a moment he just stared at the notification counter in the corner.
It was… a lot more than he expected.
His grin widened slowly.
'Yeah… that's what I'm talking about.'
There were rewards stacked from multiple events, combat achievements, political shifts, influence changes, canon deviations. Some of them were minor, some were major, and some were clearly labeled as high-impact alterations.
His eyes immediately locked onto one that had been sitting there for a long time. He remembered unlocking the condition months ago but he just hadn't opened it.
Now he did and the panel expanded.
---
[CANON SHIFT DETECTED: BECOMING THE CATALYST FOR CURING TSUNADE'S HEMOPHOBIA INSTEAD OF NARUTO UZUMAKI]
[REWARD: CHAKRA CONTROL +1%]
---
Ren blinked once.
Then his eyes lit up.
He didn't care that it was "only" one percent, anyone else would've scoffed.
One percent? That was nothing, but Ren wasn't anyone else. His chakra control was already sitting at 94% and that was the ceiling of Master-level proficiency.
There was a reason most shinobi never crossed that mark.
Chakra control beyond that point wasn't about practice, it was about refinement at a microscopic level. It was about eliminating inefficiencies you didn't even know existed and now he was getting one percent.
That single percent would push him from Master level… to Grandmaster.
His first Grandmaster-level mastery and it wasn't something flashy like elemental release.
It was chakra control. The base, the foundation, the root of everything. For a shinobi, everything begins with chakra.
Ren's grin slowly turned sharp as he claimed the reward.
The moment he did, the change hit him instantly.
It wasn't explosive or dramatic. It was subtle, terifyingly subtle. His perception of his own chakra sharpened.
What he once believed was perfect now looked crude.
He could suddenly see it, tiny leaks along pathways, microscopic fluctuations in output, areas where chakra pressure varied by fractions that previously felt insignificant.
It was like looking back at his academy self and realizing how sloppy he had been and that academy self was already a prodigy.
He closed his eyes as he began circulating chakra slowly. He felt every pulse, every transition between coils, every directional shift along his tenketsu network.
Then he started adjusting.
He patched leaks that weren't even visible before, he smoothed transitions, balanced flow ratios, adjusted pressure gradients.
The process didn't take long and when it was done his chakra moved in a perfect loop.
It was just… too smooth.
It flowed through him like water in a flawless circular river with no friction, no turbulence and it felt unbelievably comfortable.
He exhaled slowly.
"Damn…"
He raised his right hand and chakra condensed as a Rasengan formed perfect as always.
But something felt different, it was denser, much more stable.
He rotated it once in his palm and the shape didn't wobble even slightly. Then a strange thought crossed his mind.
'Can I throw it now?'
Normally, Rasengan required physical contact unless modified with wind release like the Rasenshuriken.
But this, this control was different.
He stood up slowly and walked toward the window and he leaned out just enough to ensure no one was directly below.
Then he casually flicked his wrist and threw it.
The Rasengan left his palm cleanly and there was no collapse or destabilization.
It traveled in a tight spiral through the air and detonated in the garden.
BOOM!
The explosion wasn't small.
It tore up a chunk of earth and sent dirt scattering outward.
For half a second there was silence then there were movement everywhere.
ANBU shadows flickered into existence, Shinobi patrol units converged from rooftops. Juichi burst out of the house at full speed. Kimura appeared from nowhere, hand already on his blade.
Within moments the garden was surrounded.
"Oh."
Ren immediately flickered outside.
The crater vanished, the scattered soil returned to place. Grass smoothed itself back into existence and broken wood reassembled using Yang release.
In less than a second, it looked untouched.
By the time the ANBU and patrol shinobi landed, there was nothing there.
They looked around cautiously, there was no chakra residue, no lingering signatures.
Juichi narrowed his eyes. "What happened?"
Ren stood near the doorway stretching lazily.
"A training mishap, don't worry."
After a brief scan, the ANBU dispersed and the patrol units left. Juichi muttered something under his breath and went back inside. Kimura gave Ren one last look before disappearing.
~
Back inside his room, Ren shut the window quietly and sat cross-legged on the floor. He didn't immediately move on to the next reward.
He just… experimented.
A slow grin spread across his face as the implications fully settled in.
Rasenshuriken had always been powerful, sure. It was devastating and beautiful in a destructive way. But it was also a problem, it was too destructive, too loud, too… final.
You didn't throw a Rasenshuriken unless you were ready to erase something from existence.
Now?
Now he didn't need it for mid-tier engagements.
He lifted his hand again and formed a Rasengan.
It condensed instantly, cleaner than before, smoother. The rotation inside it was silent, no turbulence, no instability. It felt like a polished gemstone rather than a swirling mass of energy.
He flicked his wrist slightly and imagined throwing it again but he didn't he just smiled.
A throwable Rasengan without wind release. It was stronger than an explosive tag by far, compact, concentrated force instead of scattered heat. But it wasn't catastrophic like Rasenshuriken. It was scalable, usable and practical.
Then his eyes sharpened as he focused harder and the sphere in his palm trembled.
For years, the Rasengan had been treated like a sacred geometry problem, perfect sphere, perfect rotation, don't touch the shape. The sphere itself demanded extreme control; altering it would destabilize it instantly.
At least… that used to be true.
The smooth orb began to wiggle in his hand. Its surface flexed but instead of collapsing, it obeyed. The sphere elongated slowly, stretching into a cylindrical shape. The rotation adjusted automatically, aligning along the new axis. The chakra didn't destabilize, it redistributed.
Ren's grin widened.
The cylinder sharpened at one end and a spearhead formed. It was crude for a second, then it stabilized.
Now in his hand was not a sphere, but a chakra spear. Compressed, rotating and razor sharp at the tip.
All of it pure chakra with no elemental infusion, just pure control.
He shifted it again and the spear flattened, then expanded as edges began forming. Within seconds, a crude blade shape manifested, then a crescent, then a spinning disc.
Every time, the chakra held he laughed quietly.
For decades, shinobi had respected the Rasengan's shape because altering it required a level of fine-tuned density balance that bordered on impossible.
He wasn't bordering on impossible anymore, he was past it.
He glanced at the system panel again and finally opened the trait description, of the trait he received after reaching Grand Master level mastery.
[Trait Acquired: Density Modulation: Control-based reshaping of chakra's density without elemental transformation.]
That was dangerous, very dangerous.
He formed another Rasengan and stared at it carefully and instead of altering shape first, he focused on density.
He willed the chakra to compress further inward. The sphere shrank slightly, but the internal pressure multiplied. It felt heavier, more compact, like turning air into stone.
He then reduced the density.
The Rasengan softened, not unstable, just less lethal. It felt almost fluid like the softness of water.
He adjusted the density gradients within the sphere and the outer layer became soft and flowing yet the inner core remained compressed, it was layered density and he could feel the difference instantly.
Then he tried vibration without adding lightning nature. He simply altered the density oscillation rate within the rotating chakra.
The Rasengan began humming faintly and a subtle tremor occurred so he dismissed it and tried something else.
He visualized the Rasenshuriken's shuriken edges.
Normally, those were created through wind nature manipulation, cutting properties infused into the chakra.
Now he didn't add wind, he just reshaped density. Edges formed, thin, sharp, stabilized by compressed rotation. A four-bladed shuriken made entirely of pure chakra spun in his hand, there was no wind element, no added nature, just density control.
He rotated it slowly, then dismissed it before it could slice through the air unintentionally.
He leaned back against the wall, exhaling.
The implications were enormous.
Density Modulation meant, he could create cutting effects without wind release, blunt force amplification without earth, vibration-based disruption without lightning and soft capture constructs without water.
It wasn't replacing elemental manipulation, it was bypassing it.
Control-based properties without transformation, that meant faster activation, lower chakra cost and higher precision.
He closed his eyes and circulated chakra again.
The flow was still perfect.
Grandmaster chakra control combined with Density Modulation wasn't flashy.
It wasn't something that would make crowds cheer.
But in real combat?
It was terrifying.
He could scale lethality instantly, he could create stable chakra constructs mid-fight. He could alter impact density at the moment of contact. He could suppress outward signatures while maintaining internal destructive force.
He flexed his fingers slowly.
The fact that this came from a one percent increase still amused him. One percent and yet it completely changed the ceiling.
He let out a low whistle.
For a moment, he considered how this would interact with his other abilities.
Earth-Yang Hardening would become more efficient, denser reinforcement with less chakra leakage. Hyperfocus would detect even smaller fluctuations in chakra usage, elemental transitions would be seamless and even sealing techniques would benefit.
He rolled his shoulders once, satisfied.
'Grandmaster, huh…'
He glanced back at the system panel.
That was only the first reward.
The notification counter hadn't even decreased by much.
His grin returned, slower this time.
'Alright… what's next?'
And with that, he reached toward the next glowing reward waiting to be opened.
This time he didn't pick a small one. He went straight for the biggest notification sitting in the middle of the interface, the one glowing faintly gold.
The one tied to something far bigger than a fight or a negotiation.
He selected it and the panel expanded instantly.
[Altering the Fate of Sasuke Uchiha:]
– Title Unlocked
---
It took Ren a few seconds to process everything, then he blanked, not because he didn't understand, but because it was too much at once.
A slow, disbelieving grin spread across his face.
"Okay… okay…"
Stat points were one thing, mastery points were huge, affinity boosts were massive. But talent spins? He hadn't seen that reward in a long time, the system had become stingy with those.
Talent spins weren't incremental growth, they were game-changers.
Then there were the affinity boosts.
He had already experienced what a single affinity boost could do to elemental comprehension. The growth curve wasn't linear, it was exponential.
Fire Release affinity boost meant his battle element would rise to another tier.
Yin Release affinity boost?
That directly complemented genjutsu, perception, and mental stability. Combined with Itachi's altered fate and his own upgraded resistance, that was layered protection.
And then there was the reward for altering Sasuke's fate.
A title.
He frowned slightly, this was something new, the system had never handed one and if it was tied to Sasuke's altered destiny, then it wasn't minor.
But before diving into that mystery, he did the most exciting thing first.
He opened the talent spins.
The familiar wheel appeared in front of him.
It had been so long that seeing it again felt nostalgic.
He didn't hesitate as he spun it once. The wheel rotated rapidly, lights flashing over different options, then it slowed and stopped.
He didn't read it yet, instead he spun the second one immediately.
Only after both spins completed did he check the results together.
The first reward appeared.
---
[FORESIGHT (EX): Rapidly simulate multiple political or combat outcomes in real time. Detect long-term instability chains before they mature. Identify pressure points within organizations or clans.]
---
Ren stared at it for several seconds as he tried to understand it carefully.
Rapid simulation of outcomes, long-term instability detection, pressure point identification.
This wasn't just tactical thinking, this was predictive modeling embedded into instinct. His mind was already sharp. He had always analyzed three steps ahead, sometimes more. But that had been experience-based, Hyperfocus tuned brain at work.
This?
This would formalize it, refine it and accelerate it.
He imagined walking into a political negotiation and instantly mapping possible escalation chains. He imagined spotting fractures within clans before they became rebellions. He imagined identifying exactly where to apply pressure for maximum leverage with minimum force.
His eyes narrowed slightly, although the reward was great, he didn't feel much, it was the kind of thing, that was alright to have, yet a pity to discard.
He moved to the second talent.
---
[ELEMENTAL CONVERGENCE TALENT (MAJOR): Innate capacity to perceive and stabilize overlapping elemental chakra frequencies within one's own chakra network.]
---
He blinked once then he grinned.
The system's description was as usual overly technical but the meaning was clear. He could now naturally perceive how elemental chakra frequencies overlapped, he could stabilize them.
Which meant… Kekkai Genkai development.
Storm Release, Scorch Release, Lava Release, Ice Release. All of them required precise overlapping elemental ratios. Without innate talent, attempting to merge elements was unstable at best and self-destructive at worst.
Now?
He had the talent.
It wasn't EX-level, only Major-level, but that didn't matter because talent was the entry requirement, skill could be built.
He leaned back slowly.
He had a stored reward from defeating Yugito Nii, a chance to create Storm Release once both water and lightning reached Master level.
That had once been a long-term dream, now it was realistic.
Storm Release would be his first attempt.
After that? Scorch with fire and wind, Lava with earth and fire. He could experiment carefully as the potential ceiling just expanded massively.
He exhaled slowly, this was already insane and he still hadn't touched the stat and mastery points.
Five Kage-level points.
Ten S-rank points.
Ten Master-level mastery points, five more from Itachi's fate alteration.
Fire Release affinity boost.
Yin Release affinity boost.
Perception +5.
Genjutsu resistance upgraded.
Every category of his growth just accelerated and then he looked back at the final line.
{There were two huge rewards, Uchiha and Danzo, the rest are smaller rewards, so they won't take much time to write, however for the Uchiha and Danzo I have to think hard, and I might even change it after publishing the chapter if it doesn't fit the story, so I'll be taking the rewards slower, atleast 2 more chapters, that too just like this one, a 3k words chapter.}
{I finished it, it's over guys, this arc is finished on pat.}
