Chapter 15 - Demon Queen !

After the meal, the world quieted down around us. I sat cross-legged on the ground, fiddling with the system's interface. The air around me shimmered faintly every time I gave a command, and I found myself testing it like a child prodding buttons on a new toy.

Not far away, Igami trained with one of her clones. Her movements were sharp, precise, almost mechanical in their perfection. The way she fought wasn't just about strength—it was devotion, discipline. She fought as though every strike was made to protect me, every dodge as though my life depended on it. Her ice clone mirrored her perfectly, the clash of fists ringing softly through the clearing.

I tilted my head back, exhaling slowly. Then, smirking, I decided to test something.

"System" I said casually, as though I had memorized something obscure "open spell tab 385 and go to spell number 4."

There was a faint pause before the familiar chime responded.

[Opening Tab 385... done. Opening Spell 4 information... done. Displaying now.]

- Poison Shot

- Single or Multishot

- A spell that launches small bullets made entirely of highly concentrated poison. Excellent for silent eliminations, as the spell produces no sound upon casting.

- Alteration: Pumping additional mana strengthens the toxicity.

Substance Alteration: Not available. For variations, see related spells such as Paralyzing Shot, Sleeping Shot, etc.

I raised a brow, nodding slowly as though I had expected nothing less. "I see" I murmured, trying to sound like this was all obvious. In truth, the neatness of the system always surprised me—it had an answer for everything.

My eyes drifted back to Igami. She was still at it, moving with relentless focus. Sweat was clearly missing; her breathing was even, her stance perfect. Watching her fight was like watching a dance—flawless rhythm, graceful destruction. Then, something strange happened.

As I stared, my focus sharpened. Suddenly, I could read her. I could predict her movements before she made them. I saw the shift in her weight before she stepped, the flex of her wrist before she struck. The clone threw a barrage of punches at her, a storm of ice-fists, but she slipped between them effortlessly, then countered with a bone-shattering strike to its face.

"Igami" I called softly.

For just a moment, she faltered. Her eyes flicked toward me, and in that heartbeat of distraction, her fist smashed clean through the clone. The icy figure cracked, shattered, and crumbled into glittering shards before fading into nothing.

She turned fully to me, her tone soft but alert. "Master?"

"Rest" I told her, meeting her gaze. "You've been training for quite some time."

She shook her head immediately, strands of her sapphire hair brushing against her cheeks. "No… I do not need rest. What I need is to maintain my training, so that I may better defend you." Her voice carried no hesitation, no room for doubt.

And gods, hearing that—hearing her say she wanted to train not for herself, not for glory, but for me—was utterly delightful. A warmth spread in my chest, something I didn't bother hiding as I smiled faintly at her.

"Igami" I said, my tone firm "this is an order."

The weight of those words silenced any protest she might have formed. Without hesitation, as if her will had been erased before it even existed, she lowered herself gracefully to the ground beside me and folded her legs into a meditative pose. Her eyes slid shut, her breathing slowed, and just like that I was reminded—no matter what they are doing, no matter what they want, if I give an order… my summons will obey me wholeheartedly. The loyalty in that truth was both comforting and a little terrifying.

"You fight very well" I said after a moment, my voice softer this time.

Her eyes opened, her lashes fluttering slightly, and to my surprise a warm blush colored her pale cheeks. She glanced down, almost shyly. "Thank you, Master" she murmured, her voice carrying a sweetness rarely seen in her battle-hardened tone.

I returned to the system, tapping through menus idly, until I stumbled onto something new. It wasn't a skill tab or a spell directory—this was different. The interface looked like an inventory, and it was… overwhelming. The list scrolled endlessly, packed with everything imaginable: from simple spoons and bundles of herbs to armor sets and legendary-grade weapons.

"Insane…" I muttered under my breath. To test it, I clicked on a chair that looked ridiculously comfortable. A faint shimmer filled the air, and in a heartbeat, the chair materialized in front of me. Without hesitation, I sat down. My body sank into it and I couldn't help but grin. "Damn… that is comfortable."

On a whim, I summoned another. I didn't have to tell Igami what to do—she simply rose, walked over, and sat in it as though it had always been meant for her.

"Comfortable, right?" I asked, leaning back.

She nodded once, but her lips curved into a small smile. Then she turned her head toward me and said softly "Not even close to hugging you, though."

That caught me off guard. My chest tightened, warmth spreading inside me at the sincerity in her words. I smiled back at her, unable to stop myself. "You're so cute… I love you."

Her eyes widened instantly, as if my words had broken through her very core. She stared at me for a moment, her breath caught in her throat, and then—slowly, but with a conviction that made my heart skip—she whispered back "I love you too."

We sat there, side by side, saying nothing more. Just two chairs, the quiet hum of magic in the air, and the simple peace of being together. For once, there was no battle, no looming threat—only warmth, loyalty, and love.

After sitting peacefully for what felt like long enough, a thought struck me. Why wait for her to come on her own terms? With a grin tugging at my lips, I stood, raised a single finger toward the sky, and unleashed an overwhelming torrent of mana. The air rippled violently, trees around us bent under the pressure, and the atmosphere itself seemed to scream as a column of pure energy tore upward, a beacon that no being in this realm could ignore.

It didn't take long. That familiar, dark, twisted energy—a suffocating presence—slithered toward us like a storm cloud made of malice itself. My chest tightened.

"Igami, get ready. Here she comes."

The chairs vanished with a flicker, replaced by the stillness before a storm. Igami was instantly at my side, her eyes narrowed, her body flowing into a perfect combat stance. Her mana surged, protective, unyielding.

Then, with an earth-shaking impact, something landed in front of us. The ground cracked, a crater exploding outward in waves of dust and stone. When the haze cleared, I finally laid eyes on her—the Demon Queen.

She smiled. Not just any smile—one that was beautiful and utterly dangerous, the kind of smile that promised ruin. Her body was flawless, curves sculpted as if to distract, every step of hers commanding attention. And for one, fleeting second, I almost let myself get caught staring.

Igami, however, sensed the danger immediately. She rushed forward, loyal to her core, only to be swatted aside like a leaf in the wind. With nothing but a casual flick of her wrist, the Demon Queen hurled Igami across the battlefield. My heart clenched at the sight.

"Hey there, fine lady" I said, forcing confidence into my voice.

The Demon Queen's reply was smooth and dripping with allure, her voice like velvet concealing razors. "Seems like you have a death wish." She began circling me slowly, her eyes scanning me like a predator sizing up prey.

"Maybe I do… or maybe" I tilted my head with a smirk "I just wanted to look at you."

She paused, her smile sweet yet suffused with danger. "Shall we skip the pleasantries and get straight to business?"

"Yeah" I said, my grin hardening. "Let's do that."

Just then, the system's cold, detached voice cut through my focus:

[Notification: Summon "Igami" has been called back to the system as she was deemed unfit for combat. Analysis: Subject sustained critical damage. Recommended to resummon only after combat concludes.]

My stomach dropped at first, but the relief hit me when I realized she hadn't been killed—just pulled back into safety. I exhaled slowly, forcing the fear down. Good. She's safe.

Meanwhile, the Demon Queen was brushing a strand of hair behind her ear, casually fixing her appearance as though I weren't even worth her time. When she noticed I wasn't charging, her lips curved, and she lazily flicked a hand. A fireball, small but unnervingly dense, shot toward me.

I raised my hand and swatted it aside, the heat licking at my skin but leaving no burn.

And then—suddenly—I wasn't looking at her anymore. My vision filled with the underside of her shoe. A moment later, her feet slammed into my face like a cannon, sending me stumbling backward several feet, my boots digging trenches into the ground. My teeth rattled, my jaw burned.

"Quite harsh for a lady" I muttered, steadying myself, a crooked grin crawling back across my face even as my cheek throbbed.

After analyzing the system, my lips curved into a confident grin. Alright… let's do this. Without hesitation, I rushed forward, closing the gap between me and the Demon Queen in an instant. She smirked, clearly expecting to sidestep me with ease, but I anticipated that. My hand shot up, clamping down on her face before she could fully evade.

Electricity surged from my palm in violent arcs, a torrent of raw mana turned into lightning that danced across her skin. The crackle of energy echoed like thunder, and for the first time her expression faltered—eyes narrowing as the shock stunned her muscles. Seizing the moment, I drove a heavy punch into her stomach, the impact sending a satisfying shockwave through the air.

Before she could recover, I thrust my other palm forward, mana swirling violently.

[Air Palm]

A blast of compressed wind exploded from my hand, launching her backward through the dust and rubble. Her heels dug into the ground, carving trenches as she steadied herself.

I didn't give her the chance to breathe. My free hands came together, forming a seal as I concentrated vast amounts of mana into a dense, black sphere. It pulsed with energy so heavy that the air around it distorted. With a sharp motion, I fired it straight at her chest.

She twisted, dodging by the width of a hair. The orb sailed past and struck a massive tree in the distance. For a heartbeat, nothing happened—then the tree withered instantly, collapsing into lifeless ash.

My eyes widened. "That was… [Instant Death]?" The realization sent a shiver down my spine. So I can just cast that… naturally?

The Demon Queen's lips curled into a wide smile, her tone dripping with amusement. "Oh, you're quite strong, aren't you? This is getting fun."

She pressed both hands into the ground.

[Earthquake]

The terrain convulsed violently, tossing me off balance. My knees buckled, my body thrown to the side as cracks split the battlefield wide open. Before I could fully recover, three jagged [Earth Stakes] came flying, aimed directly for my chest.

I exhaled sharply, extending my hand. My mana flared, and with a swift motion I shattered them one after another. Pebbles and dust sprayed across my face, but I was already grinning. "Here. Have them back."

Channeling mana, I conjured my own barrage of [Earth Stakes]—twice as many, sharper and faster—hurling them toward her. She moved with graceful precision, weaving through them like a dancer avoiding blades, her laughter ringing out mockingly.

"Stop moving so much!" I say loving this feeling.

She only chuckled, her voice dangerously alluring even mid-battle. "But watching you chase me is so much fun."

She then charges a spell, a glowing sphere of crimson and black appeared in her palm before she hurled it at me.

[Hellfire Ball]

The heat was intense enough to scorch my skin before it even reached me. I raised my arms instinctively, commanding the system.

[System: Selecting optimal counterspell…]

[Chosen: Concentrated Water Ball]

A sphere of water materialized in front of me, slamming into the incoming flame. The collision detonated in a hiss of steam and boiling mist, engulfing the battlefield in a thick fog.

I stepped back, coughing slightly, straining my vision through the haze. Somewhere beyond, I heard her laughter again—closer this time, circling like a predator.

Mana surged wildly in my hand as I charged the dreaded [Instant Death] spell. The black mass pulsed like a living heart, eating at the very air around it. With a steady breath, I clenched my fist, crushing the sphere.

The release was instant. A shockwave of pure annihilation radiated outward, the ground splitting beneath my feet. The wave slammed straight into the Demon Queen, her body jerking as if struck by an invisible hammer. She slid backward, dust trailing behind her heels, but she wasn't finished—not yet. Her eyes glowed with fury and fascination.

I didn't give her time to recover. I lifted my hand and invoked one of Igami's most devastating techniques, a spell I had studied but never dared to use until now.

[Permafrost]

—A freezing spell that bypasses all defense.

The battlefield fell silent for half a second as a massive blue circle flared into existence beneath her. Ancient runes spun in perfect symmetry, light so bright it turned shadows into silhouettes. Then came the cold.

An unnatural frost swallowed her in an instant. Her movements ceased mid-step, her mocking smile frozen into a mask of ice. Jagged glaciers erupted from the floor, encasing her in a coffin of translucent blue.

I narrowed my eyes, picked up a stone from the cracked battlefield, and tossed it casually. The rock struck the frozen shell with a sharp crack. The ice shattered in an explosive burst, shards scattering in the air like diamond dust.

Floating above the wreckage, exposed and vulnerable, was her mana core. It pulsed faintly, a dark heart of corrupted energy.

I stepped forward, my breath visible in the lingering chill. Each stride felt heavier, as though the air itself resisted me. Finally, I reached her core—my fingers hovering inches away. I touched it.

The world collapsed.

In an instant, I was ripped from the battlefield and hurled into a place of suffocating darkness. The air reeked of decay and something older, fouler, than death itself. A single black orb hovered in the void, radiating with oppressive power.

"Damn" I muttered, voice echoing strangely in the abyss. "This place is… scary."

Despite my words, I kept walking, step after step, the weight of the void pressing against my chest. The closer I drew, the more the orb pulsed, as if aware of me—resenting me.

With a grim resolve, I raised my hand and slammed it against the orb.

It cracked. Then, like shattered glass, it burst apart.

The void collapsed in on itself, dragging me violently in every direction. My senses blurred, the sound of rushing wind deafening me until—

I was back.

I hit the ground hard, coughing as the weight of mana withdrawal crushed my body. My vision blurred, but I forced my hand upward.

[Summon: Igami]

In a flash of light, she appeared, her form coalescing like a goddess descending. She rushed to my side, her sharp eyes immediately scanning every inch of me for wounds. Her hands glowed faintly as she cast diagnostic and healing spells, her expression a mixture of calm precision and fierce worry.

"Master" she whispered softly, brushing her hand across my arm. "Are you hurt? Speak to me."

Even in my exhaustion, I managed a faint smile. "Don't worry. I'm fine… just tired. But it's done."

Her expression softened, relief flooding her features as she continued tending to me with gentle yet urgent care.

[Warning: Initiating automatic character summon… character was successfully summoned: Demon Queen.]

The system's voice echoed in my head, and for a heartbeat, my chest tightened. But then Igami's arms wrapped around me, pulling me close. Her warmth was steady, grounding me against the chaos that seemed to follow every fight. I looked up at her and smiled faintly, exhausted but alive. She leaned down, pressing the gentlest kiss to my forehead, her lips trembling as though she were fighting back tears.

"I… I am sorry" she whispered, her voice breaking like fragile glass. "I wasn't able to protect you…"

Her words stung more than any wound could. I lifted a hand and brushed away a tear forming in the corner of her eye. My voice came out softer than I intended, but filled with certainty. "Don't worry. It's not just on you… it's partly my fault for not unlocking your full potential yet."

For the briefest second, her sorrow gave way to a tender smile. That soft, unshakable devotion of hers never ceased to amaze me. I let myself breathe, thinking we'd head back to the inn, recover, and regroup. But before I could even take that thought seriously.

The world twisted.

In a flash of blinding light, the battlefield disappeared, and suddenly Igami and I were standing inside the grand halls of my mana core castle. The marble walls shimmered with divine energy, rivers of light flowing through every crack, the air so pure it hummed in my lungs.

And then—she appeared.

The goddess.

Her presence was overwhelming yet comforting, like being embraced by the very concept of love itself. She rushed toward me without hesitation, wrapping her arms around me so tightly I nearly lost my balance. Her laughter was pure, overflowing with joy.

"You did it!" she cried, her honeyed voice laced with overwhelming relief. "You truly did it! I am so happy for you!"

Before I could even react, her lips peppered kisses across my face—forehead, cheeks, nose—each one brimming with warmth and pride. My exhaustion cracked into a smile, and I let out a soft laugh. "Yeah… I did."

She pulled back just enough to look at me, eyes glimmering like twin suns, and with a flick of her delicate hand, my system screen opened on its own. The glowing letters floated before me, sharp and undeniable.

[Notification: Tutorial World completed! You have acquired some rewards! Would you like me to list them?]

I gave a small nod. The goddess's smile only widened as the list unfolded.

The words scrolling across the system were nothing short of absurd. A catalogue of power, freedom, and possibilities beyond imagination:

- A massive power boost for me.

- The capacity to enhance my summons beyond their limits, and full access to every spell they possess.

- Complete access to the goddess in every way or form—physical, spiritual, divine.

- The ability to change forms or possess others, with possession fully overwriting the host's mind.

- Miscellaneous perks: infinite currency, instant construction of entire buildings for quick settlement.

- Removal of the mana injection cap—spells could now consume as much mana as I wished to pour into them, with no ceiling, no restrictions.

I stared at the glowing text, breath caught in my throat. For once, even I was speechless.

"This…" I muttered, eyes widening slightly "…is ridiculous."

The goddess only leaned closer, her smile knowing, her touch gentle as she brushed her hand across my cheek. "No, my darling… this is only the beginning."
