Jarvis's alarm blared incessantly.
"Sir, the armor is showing signs of melting. There is a risk of explosion in ten seconds. Please stop the operation immediately," Jarvis warned.
"Turn off that annoying noise. I know what I'm doing," Tony replied, his focus unwavering as he stared at the space ahead.
Meanwhile, Banner stood nearby, his eyes fixed on the complex, precise instruments before him. His fingers hovered over the control button, ready to act the moment the readings peaked.
When the values finally surged to their maximum, Banner pressed the button without hesitation. The sonic boom channel activated, but it was highly unstable, on the verge of collapsing at any moment.
With astonishing speed and precision, Banner grabbed a box beside him and hurled it accurately into the dangerously flickering sonic boom channel.
After completing the sequence, Banner shouted to Tony, "Tony, it's done! Stop now!"
At his words, Tony immediately manipulated the Apollo armor, gradually dimming the dazzling beam until it ceased entirely. The armor, subjected to prolonged high-energy output, glowed red-hot, its surface resembling molten iron.
Worse still, droplets of liquid metal began seeping from the armor's seams, trickling down like tiny silver streams. These molten drops slid along the armor's shell, pooling into small metallic puddles on the ground.
"Banner, help me! I can't open the armor, and I'm suffocating!" Tony's anxious voice echoed from within.
Banner rushed forward and began assisting Tony in dismantling the severely damaged armor. After some effort, the armor was pried open, revealing Tony inside, drenched in sweat and visibly exhausted.
Tony gazed at the battle-worn armor that had accompanied him through countless fights, now reduced to a wrecked shell. A pang of indescribable reluctance welled up in his heart. For the first time, he had lost something he genuinely considered valuable.
"The leader has the Time Stone. It can be repaired," Banner reminded him.
Tony's reluctance vanished instantly. Repair it? No need. He'd melt it down to its raw materials and build a new one.
"Arghhh!" The black Hulk roared in agony, seizing the Abomination biting into him and slamming it to the ground.
His green-glowing eyes locked onto his foe with lethal intensity. The Abomination spat out a chunk of flesh, baring its blood-streaked teeth in a menacing grin.
"Pah! I took all those punches without a whimper. One bite from me, and you're already screaming. That's a bargain," the Abomination taunted.
The black Hulk's chest heaved like bellows, his ragged breaths fueling the fiery rage in his eyes. His already terrifying visage twisted further, resembling a demon straight from hell.
Unfazed, the Abomination stood tall, facing the black Hulk with a provocative smirk. "You want to kill me? Go ahead and try. But watch out—you might lose a few more juicy chunks of flesh next time!" It burst into mocking laughter.
The taunt, even to the mindless black Hulk, was like salt in a wound. A volcanic surge of rage erupted within him. He quickly adjusted his stance, crouching low, his entire body taut like a fully drawn bow.
A piercing noise rang out, drawing the attention of every creature nearby. An irregular sonic boom channel opened, ejecting a heavily deformed box.
The box hit the ground, trembling violently. With a loud bang, two yellow streaks of light shot out, landing before the Abomination and Juggernaut. Each was a yellow ring.
"Intelligent lifeform detected," a voice declared.
"Blonsky, from Earth…"
"You possess the ability to instill great fear in others…"
"You belong to… the Yellow Lantern Corps."
The ring resized itself, slipping onto the Abomination's massive finger. A yellow-and-black sleeveless battle suit materialized on its body.
"In blackest day, in brightest night,
Beware your fears made into light.
Let those who try to stop what's right,
Burn like my power… Sinestro's might!"
As the final verse of the oath echoed, the Abomination felt its already immense strength surge uncontrollably, enhancing its muscles and bones beyond their previous limits.
The Abomination, now fully immersed in this unparalleled sense of power, grinned wickedly and let out a bone-chilling laugh toward the black Hulk in the distance. "I smell fear. Are you having nightmares?"
"Roar!" the black Hulk bellowed.
"Intelligent lifeform detected…"
"Cain Marko, from Earth…"
"You possess the ability to instill great fear in others…"
"You belong to… the Yellow Lantern Corps."
Juggernaut, too, felt his power surging, fueled by the fear emanating from the gamma monsters before him. "You've been living in fear this whole time? I'll grant you release—soon enough."
Juggernaut charged, his footsteps shattering the ground as if torn apart by an invisible giant. He vanished in a blur, leaving only an afterimage. The gamma monsters in his path were obliterated—grazed, they were wounded; struck, they were shattered. Their metal-like durability was as fragile as paper before him.
Elsewhere, the Abomination was pushed back by the black Hulk, crashing through three small hills in succession.
"Where's your Hulk Smash? Come on, show me!" the Abomination roared, landing a punch on the black Hulk's chest. The enhanced force produced a sickening crack on impact.
The black Hulk was sent flying, crashing into another hill. "That's the spirit!" the Abomination exclaimed, flexing its fist. The limitless power coursing through it was exhilarating, far surpassing the original Yellow Lantern rings.
Unlike the original five, these new rings lacked the ability to create constructs but could absorb fear to amplify strength and replenish energy—an ideal match for warriors like the Abomination and Juggernaut.
"Hulk, I'm going to pound you into a pulp!" the Abomination declared, assuming a fighting stance.
"Roar!" The black Hulk staggered to its feet and charged without hesitation at the provocative words.
The clash was relentless, a storm of blows with no defense, only offense. Blood—whose, it was unclear—mingled in the violent tempest of their battle.
The Abomination ducked under a wild swing from the black Hulk, landing an uppercut to its jaw. A swift kick to the leg brought the Hulk down, and the Abomination pinned its hands with both feet.
Glaring coldly, the Abomination drove a fist toward the black Hulk's face. The impact sent shockwaves through the ground, rippling like ocean waves.
As the dust settled, the black Hulk's eyes trembled, staring at the ring-adorned fist. There was no doubt that blow could have obliterated its skull.
"Wake up, Hulk baby," the Abomination sneered, pressing the Yellow Lantern ring against the black Hulk's forehead, siphoning its fear to convert into energy.
The black Hulk's body gradually reverted to green, its eyes regaining clarity. After a moment of silence, it spoke. "Abomination, did you ever truly want to kill Hulk?"
The Abomination paused, caught off guard, and pondered. "No. I've only ever wanted to prove I'm stronger than you." It dismissed its past, rage-fueled insanity.
"Abomination…" Hulk began.
"What now? Why're you getting all sentimental after waking up? Spit it out," the Abomination grumbled, half-ready to mock but softening at Hulk's demeanor.
"Thank you for saving Hulk. This time, Hulk admits you're stronger," Hulk said earnestly.
"Quit being weird. Banner's out there—go cry to him when we're done," the Abomination retorted, unaccustomed to this vulnerable Hulk. It preferred the old, carefree version.
Meanwhile, Juggernaut had dispatched the remaining gamma monsters.
