A massive army of Venom gods—entities specializing in duplicating and recording data—reported their results.
"Team 26684's powers are insufficient. There's interference. Select a new combination.""Understood. Hurry up. Time is running out."
Another group of Venom gods appeared, manipulating gravity, storms, frost, and metal.
They paid no attention to the Venom gods still locked in hand-to-hand combat with Darkseid and immediately began conjuring a massive gravitational storm that swept Darkseid and several other Venom gods into its vortex.
The Venom gods caught in the storm didn't go to waste. Their bodies extended, becoming sharp and deadly. They activated the abilities of Steelman.
Thus, a Frost-Metal Storm was formed!
"Venom gods—aaaarghhh!"
Darkseid howled furiously within the storm.
"Still have the strength to scream? Add two more groups.""Yes, sir."
The Venom gods answered themselves.
Two Hours Later – At the Star Core of Uranus
"Gone. Everything's gone!"
Kino stared at the chamber within Hell where the demonic essences had been stored. It was now completely empty. Just two hours ago, it had been brimming with power.
The joy from before was now mirrored by utter despair.
Asuna lay nearby, eyes empty, her body covered in purple bruises.
The other four women were similarly scattered across the bed, their eyes lifeless.
Suddenly, all five shivered, and clarity returned to their gazes.
All of Venom's memories had suddenly come rushing back to them. The sheer impact made them pass out. If Venom had been human, they would've long been lost in an endless sea of death.
"That was amazing! It's been ages since we fought like that!" (x5)
The five women fused into one, taking on Venom's form. She looked at Kino, who was still sulking, and gave his round butt a firm slap.
"Seriously? You were having the time of your life just now."
Venom couldn't help but laugh.
She knew Kino didn't truly care about those demonic essences. Otherwise, he wouldn't have left them untouched in Hell for so long.
He was just like a squirrel—satisfied by the mere sight of a stocked-up warehouse.
"But there's none left…"
Kino raised his head slightly, his eyes filled with loss. Despite enjoying the fight, his heart still ached.
"Come on, think of it as this year's tuition fee. Next year, we can collect them all over again."
Venom kissed Kino on the cheek and offered a plan.
"You're right! Smart thinking. But since Old Xithorne's getting overused, let's pick someone new…"
Kino thought for a moment.
"Dormammu sounds perfect."
"Let's go claim our spoils."
Venom merged back into Kino's body.
Kino opened a portal and stepped out. The icy landscape was gone, replaced by a steaming, blood-red hot spring.
In the center lay Darkseid—limbs shattered, his body split open in several places, exposing white bone.
Kino walked across the steaming spring and looked down at him.
"You tried to replace me. To become the Dark Overlord of this world."
Even in his ruined state, Darkseid's eyes were filled with pride. His tone was more like he was offering charity than admitting defeat.
"No. I never tried to become someone else. I am always myself."
Kino knelt down and placed his hand on Darkseid's chest.
"But I do need your power."
"Power?"
Darkseid could feel something creeping into his body, but he didn't resist. Instead, he laughed.
"Hahaha, so even you lust for the power of others."
"What do you mean by that?"
Kino frowned, confused by the comment.
"We will meet again."
Darkseid didn't answer the question. The light in his eyes faded completely, and his body began to dissolve into the blood-colored hot spring.
"Riddler, get out of Gotham!"
Kino grumbled in frustration. He had clearly won, yet it felt like he was the one who had lost.
Back Inside Kino's Body
"Venom, is there anything wrong with my body?"
[No. Everything is normal. With me here, there's no way anything else can enter your body.]
Venom answered confidently.
"Fine. I won't overthink it. At least I got the spoils."
Kino looked at his core, where a pattern resembling Darkseid's symbol had appeared.
"Is this... collecting trophies?"
He opened a portal and left Uranus, leaving behind only the crimson hot spring.
Back on Earth
Batman had somehow gotten his hands on a Mother Box and handed it to FAIZ, who successfully cracked its frequency and sent all the Parademons back to Apokolips.
The long-lingering darkness finally faded.
"I wonder how Brother Kino's battle went…"
The Flash looked worried.
"I'll go check."
Superman was about to take flight.
"I'm coming too."
Martian Manhunter joined him. The two were the only ones capable of space travel.
Batman said nothing but stared solemnly in the direction where Black Adam had vanished.
Suddenly, a portal opened.
Everyone let out a sigh of relief.
"Yo! I'm back. Looks like you guys handled things on your end."
Kino stepped out.
"Brother Kino! You won!"
The Flash appeared before him in an instant, excited.
"Of course. Darkseid is dead. At least for now, you won't have to worry about him returning."
Kino said calmly.
"You mean… he'll come back?"
Batman frowned.
"Yes. To be precise, Darkseid can't really die. If you do want him truly dead, every universe in the multiverse would collapse with him."
Kino saw everyone's expressions sink and tried to reassure them.
"Don't worry. He won't resurrect for years. Use this time to grow stronger—like forming that Justice League I mentioned."
"Next time, you're on your own. I won't always be around to save you."
"You're leaving, Brother Kino?"
The Flash sounded disappointed.
"Yeah. I came here by accident. Now that everything's settled, it's time to go."
Kino nodded.
"Can I call you Kino?"
Superman spoke up.
"Of course."
"Kino, even if you deny your origins, I believe that our heritage isn't just a label—it's a symbol. Like the 'S' on my chest, it stands for hope."
Superman's gaze was full of understanding, as if he saw his younger self—caught between being Kryptonian and Earthling—in Kino.
"You've got it wrong. I'm really not Kryptonian."
Kino sighed.
"I know."
Superman smiled warmly, as if to say, I believe you.
Because Kino looked barely of age, Superman instinctively took on the role of a senior or mentor.
"Another one who doesn't understand plain words…"
Kino twitched his mouth. But seeing the loneliness in Superman's eyes, he understood. It was just like when he had first met Venom.
"Give me some of your blood."
"Alright."
Superman didn't ask why. He used his heat vision to slice his palm, allowing blood to drip out.
The others were curious too.
Kino took out a compass-like artifact, which absorbed a portion of Superman's blood. The needle spun and eventually lit up a tiny grain of light.
Quote of the Chapter:"Some enemies fall not with a roar, but with a promise: 'We will meet again.' The war ends, but the story continues."
