Chapter 91 - Chapter 91: Flint's Job

Tom's heart skipped a beat—the Demon King's men!

Without hesitation, he drew his automatic pistol and unleashed a rapid volley at Ra's al Ghul.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

Eight bullets struck directly at Ra's al Ghul's heart.

Logically, even if he were wearing a bulletproof vest, the sheer impact should have shattered his ribs. Yet, Ra's al Ghul stood motionless, his clothes unscathed.

Tom did not give up. In 0.6 seconds, he reloaded his gun and aimed at Ra's al Ghul's forehead.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

This time, he saw it clearly. A black shadow materialized before him, absorbing the bullets like a stone sinking into water—without causing a ripple.

Ra's al Ghul extended his hand, revealing sixteen spent bullets in his palm. With a flick of his wrist, the bullets clinked onto the marble floor.

"Do you want to keep going?"

"...No. But I'm curious—when did the Demon King start watching me?"

Tom dropped his gun, realizing that against someone with supernatural abilities, even a fully equipped tactical team would struggle to pose a threat.

"From the very beginning."

"How did you do it? I am always cautious. My communications are through letters. I change the meeting locations every time. I travel in the most inconspicuous vehicles. How did you manage it?"

Ra's al Ghul admired the calm, meticulous businessman before him. He fit the master's requirements perfectly.

"Come out," Ra's al Ghul commanded.

A ninja-clad figure emerged from Tom's shadow.

A chill ran up Tom's spine. Someone had been watching him this entire time.

Tom couldn't help but smile bitterly. Everything they had done was nothing but child's play to the Demon King.

"According to the master's wishes, we should have played this game until the end. But you tried to quit halfway..."

"So, you're here to punish me for escaping?"

Tom scanned the surroundings, still harboring the desire to resist.

"No, this game can end early. The master wanted to select the best performer among you as his subordinate."

"And you chose me?"

A fiery ambition ignited in Tom's eyes—a hunger for power and strength.

"When facing a stronger opponent, knowing when to surrender is also a wise choice. Sign your name," Ra's al Ghul said, producing a demonic contract.

Tom didn't even glance at the text. Instead, he locked eyes with Ra's al Ghul.

"Can I also gain superpowers?"

"Of course. There are hundreds of abilities for you to choose from. If you perform significant feats in the future, even immortality is not impossible."

"Then, I have only one choice..."

Tom drew a dagger from his coat, sliced his finger, and signed his name in blood on the contract.

"I pledge my allegiance to His Majesty, the Demon King!"

His voice rang out with unwavering conviction, eyes brimming with ambition.

Elsewhere, Kino sensed the contract's completion.

With Ra's al Ghul's skills, any task was flawlessly executed. Much of the company's rapid progress was due to his efforts.

When Kino asked what reward he wanted, Ra's al Ghul requested only to grow stronger and return to the League of Assassins.

Coincidentally, Hydra had provided intelligence on the movements of wealthy elites. Kino allowed Ra's al Ghul to select one of them as his deputy to handle company affairs.

Kino and Venom arrived at the Demon Tower.

On the way, they passed a beach park where a burly man was helping a young girl build a sandcastle.

The man, despite his formidable frame, exuded gentleness as he guided the girl, his hands carefully shaping the sand into intricate structures.

The girl giggled with pure delight, her tiny hands busy molding the sand. Sunlight bathed them in a warm, picturesque glow.

When Kino reached the park, Flint noticed them.

"Boss."

"Boss~" the little girl echoed sweetly.

"Hello, Penny," Kino greeted warmly.

"Flint, how is Penny's health?"

"She's better now, just a little weak. She needs time to recover."

"Go to Ra's al Ghul later and request a healing potion. It'll speed up her recovery."

"Boss, I haven't done anything to deserve this..."

Flint's voice was heavy with guilt. He had expected to be experimented on but was instead given a security position. Each day, he accompanied his daughter around the Demon Tower, with weekends off and a substantial salary. Even his wife, Jenny, had become gentler toward him.

Kino smiled, understanding his feelings. Pointing to the towering Demon Tower behind him, he said:

"Flint, you don't realize the importance of your work. This is the Demon Tower. For now, it's fine, but in the future, it will attract countless enemies. I can't always be here. I need your power to protect this tower and, eventually, this entire city."

Flint gazed up at the gleaming structure. Bathed in sunlight, it stood as a beacon of their ambitions. A newfound sense of duty surged within him.

"Boss, I promise you—as long as I breathe, no one will harm this tower."

His words were resolute, his eyes burning with determination.

"Good. I trust you."

Kino patted his shoulder encouragingly.

Just as Flint's fighting spirit soared, a shriek from behind startled him.

He turned quickly, only to see the boss's wife playfully tickling Penny, who burst into laughter.

Flint relaxed, though he thought grimly that if it were a man, he'd have reduced him to a pulp.

Kino chuckled. "Flint, Penny is old enough for school. Keeping her by your side all the time isn't good for her social development."

"You're right. I've been worried about bullying at school."

Flint's expression darkened with concern. Having experienced bullying himself, he knew its pain all too well.

"I'll enroll her in the same class as my goddaughter."

"I trust your judgment, boss."

Flint respected Kino deeply, knowing his decisions were always well-considered and for their collective good.

After discussing school preparations, Kino and Venom departed.

"Goodbye, Penny."

"Goodbye, Venom~" the little girl waved, giggling.

Flint held his daughter close as she waved enthusiastically, her heart already longing for new friendships.

"Penny, do you want to go to school?" he asked softly.

"What is school, Daddy?"

"A place where you can make friends and play together."

"Then I want to go to school!" she declared eagerly.

Flint stroked her hair gently, smiling. "Alright. Daddy will make it happen."

"True strength lies not in the power you wield, but in the bonds you protect."
