Vin stood in his place, a smirk on his face.
"It looks like someone has awakened," said Vin, his eyes glancing at Boris.
"Haha... It seems so, yeah..." replied Boris, licking his lips, his eyes shifting from Vin to Liam.
"But I have to say, if it weren't for that human..." He paused, staring at Liam as his eyes glowed green. "It wouldn't have been possible."
Liam listened, not daring to move a single muscle.
"So he awakened..." he thought, gritting his teeth.
"His poison powers have skyrocketed... But despite that, he shouldn't have any mana left. That means that even if his Poison Magic awakened, he wouldn't be able to use it."
Liam turned his head to look once again at Vin.
"The real problem is Vin... I don't know what his plan is. But if I had to guess, they're trying to buy time for the whole Darkvill hell to come."
The surroundings dimmed, the atmosphere tense. Liam stood alone in what felt like a pit of darkness, surrounded by two animals ready to satisfy their hunger.
"We need to get out of here before it's too late."
A huge blast echoed through the streets as I was launched into a building, the collision destroying it as dust flew everywhere. From the rubble, I slowly dug myself out with effort. I rose, my body covered in injuries. A sharp pain spread from my chest, the deep slashes burning so much that I felt like I might pass out.
I lifted my head as I heard his steps approaching, his eyes piercing through me like a predator staring at its prey.
"C'mon! Don't give up yet!"
Rhyver shouted, his hungry, sharp grin sending chills through my broken body. As he got closer, I could feel his thirst, like an aura of terror. I struggled to stand, my shoulders barely able to hold me up.
"You're going to finish what you started, right? Defeating me. Or were your intentions to deliberately get thrown around like this?"
Rhyver spoke again, stopping a few meters away. He opened his mouth wide as his laughter echoed through the ruined streets.
Even though my body was in a critical state, I couldn't help but feel something within me... a deep desire to destroy him. "Dominate... Conquer... Destroy..." The voice rang in my mind. I clenched my eyes shut, trying to drive it out.
"You cannot ignore me forever... I am a part of you," it protested.
"Leave me alone..!" I shook my head before collapsing on my hands and knees. A surge of energy shot through my body, my flames igniting violently as crimson lightning danced uncontrollably around me.
"Free me... Let me out!" the voice roared, louder than before. My fingers dug into the rubble, my muscles tensed, and my magic grew unstable. Suddenly, a wave of energy burst from me.
Alarmed, Rhyver raised his hands to block it.
"This power again," he muttered, his feet digging into the ground for support.
The wave finally stopped. My breath was heavy, my body drenched in sweat. But I felt something had changed. I opened my eyes, shocked. My injuries were gone. I felt stronger.
Rhyver's eyes widened.
"What the... His body..." he thought, observing me carefully.
"His mana has been restored, his wounds healed, and his strength... it's like it exploded."
Rhyver clenched his fists so hard blood dripped from them. A smirk appeared on his worried face as his eyes locked on me.
"So this is... Lucif Magic."
I looked at my body, surprise, awe, and confusion mixing in my mind. Crimson lightning cracked across my hands, but something was wrong.
"I can't activate the White Flames Magic," I thought, my mind racing. "Just what did it do?"
Before I could react, Rhyver appeared in front of me, his massive body blocking the sky, his red eyes glowing sharply, his arm drawn back to strike. At the last second, I dodged. Rhyver's gaze hardened as I effortlessly avoided his attack.
"No doubt about it, his powers have increased." he thought, his suspicions confirmed.
Before he could retreat, I launched myself at him, the ground cracking beneath my feet. Rhyver's eyes widened in alarm, but it was too late. In an instant, I punched him in the chest. Blood burst from his mouth as he was hurled back.
My eyes glowed red as I stared at what I had done. I could hardly believe it. Then, suddenly, my head throbbed with pain. I clutched it, groaning.
"Power comes with a cost... A cost you will have to pay..." the voice echoed inside me. Its tone was calm, but filled with dangerous excitement. Slowly, the pain began to fade.
