Chapter 102 - A Slice of Life

Dante woke the next morning to find his number one beside him, dressed in something he could only describe as a thirst trap.

'Vexion just looks good in anything, to be fair. Having sex with a girl who's this possessive, this sensitive to my touch... that's such a fucking boost to my ego. Now then...'

The morning unfolded much like any other. Vexion quietly slipped into the bathroom to shower before ordering Dante's favourite breakfast.

To say she wasn't craving more of him would have been a lie.The warmth of his body, the closeness they had shared, the simple fact that she could now truthfully say he had 'been inside her'... it ignited a fire inside her that refused to settle.

Unfortunately, she still lacked the confidence to ask for more.

The memory of barely lasting through their first time still lingered, making her cheeks warm every time she remembered it. She sighed inwardly. 'To think I couldn't even last that long...Thankfully, Master doesn't mind... but it's still so embarrassing.'

When she returned, Dante had already changed into his usual attire. The noble clothing radiated authority, wealth, and quiet strength. Vexion had also changed into her usual robes. They were the same design as before, only the colours had been reversed. Where there had once been red, there was now white, and where there had been white, there was now red. Even the embroidered jewellery decorating the robes differed slightly.

Watching him straighten his sleeves, she couldn't help smiling.

'I don't think I'll ever be able to match him in bed...But that doesn't mean I'll allow another woman to enjoy what belongs to me.'

With that thought, she opened the door just as breakfast arrived, Lexa following closely behind. Soon, the three sat together eating. Dante casually pointed his fork at Lexa.

"You can ask your question. But first...Tell me how the ship looks."

Lexa nodded. After swallowing her food, she began.

"It's massive. Just as large inside as it appears from the outside. There are four main sections. The top floor is where we're staying. Beneath us is the middle-class section, then the lower-class section. We're the only ones with miniature houses instead of rooms. There are about thirty cabins like ours. The middle-class passengers have private bedrooms, but the bathrooms are shared. Around sixty rooms."

"The lowest class is mostly seating with shared facilities. There are about one hundred and twenty seats. And—"

She stopped...Dante wasn't listening anymore. Instead, Vexion was calmly feeding him another fry while he stared off into space.

She laughed. "Kind of your fault, Lexa. You know our Lord. He's incapable of listening to lengthy explanations. I'm honestly surprised he didn't interrupt you."

Dante looked offended. "I can listen." He pointed his fork at her. But how the fuck is knowing the exact layout of the ship going to benefit me? Feels like unnecessary information." Lexa frowned.

"Master...You should appreciate things beyond wars, power, and whatever schemes are running through your head."

Dante paused. He looked at Vexion. She simply tilted her head curiously. Then he answered.

"Your body is art. So is hers. I admire both. So technically, I do appreciate beautiful things. I even know the shape of both your asses." Vexion's cheeks immediately turned pink.

Lexa pinched the bridge of her nose. "Not when it has to do with sex! I mean literally anything else!"

Dante simply shrugged. "You're asking too much." Vexion burst into quiet laughter at Lexa's defeated expression. Even now, she still hadn't grown completely accustomed to Dante.

Then again...Neither had Vexion. Her Master was simply too strange. Mythical Beings were revered above nearly every other existence. Their dignity, status, and lifespan placed them on an entirely different level from ordinary people.

Dante possessed none of that dignity. He was lazy shameless and Perverted. He cared very little for anything outside his own interests. If something failed to entertain or benefit him, he simply ignored it. He was, in every sense of the word...an abnormality.

Lexa sighed inwardly. 'Yet...No one understands skills or combat like he does. He knows so little about the world, yet somehow he always finds a way to outmaneuver, outplan, or simply overpower everyone around him.'

That contradiction was exactly what made him so difficult to understand. He acted like someone who had only recently stepped into the world of true power...Yet thought like someone who had spent countless years standing at its peak.

A snap of fingers pulled her from her thoughts. Vexion had already taken the empty plates to the mounted sink, where they would be cleaned before being collected later.

Lexa hesitated. A faint blush spread across her cheeks. "There was... something I wanted to ask." Dante gestured for her to continue.

"Yesterday...I couldn't find Vexion.I knocked on your door..and I thought I heard..."

She looked away awkwardly.

"...someone moaning."

Lexa looked as though she wanted the floor to swallow her whole. Vexion merely smiled shyly, a faint blush colouring her cheeks. Dante answered without the slightest hesitation. "Yeah. We had sex." Lexa blinked.

Speechless.

Dante tilted his head. "Surprised? I'm disappointed. You still don't know me very well."

Lexa let out an awkward laugh.

"It's not that I'm surprised. I'm just...surprised you two don't seem any different. You don't really give off the feeling of 'now we're lovers.'"

Vexion smilled with a gentle laugh "If I suddenly started acting differently...Master would probably find it annoying." Dante yawned before stretching.

"There's no need. It doesn't change anything. We'll continue doing what we've always done. I intended to sleep with her from the day I recruited her." He glanced at Lexa.

"That was originally the plan with you as well. But...I've got personal issues with harems." Lexa felt her face warm slightly. She didn't bother asking why he'd changed his mind. Truthfully...She didn't mind. She respected Dante completely. Had he genuinely pursued her, she probably would have accepted him.

Even so...From a purely personal standpoint, she preferred a man with a little more grace. Behind Dante's calm exterior was someone who lived entirely by his own desires. He wasn't bound by conventional morality or social expectations. His principles always began and ended with himself.

That selfishness made him frightening. Vexion was much the same. Lexa wasn't. She could dirty her hands if it meant protecting the people she cared about. She could even sacrifice innocent lives if the alternative led to something far worse. But she would never unleash meaningless slaughter simply because she could. That was where she and Dante would always differ.

And strangely enough...

It was also one of the reasons she admired him. Not because she agreed with that part of him.But because he never pretended to be anything else.
