Chapter 125 - The Architect

I turned to the dragons. Zephyros was shivering despite being fully healed, and Fafnir's flames were flickering low in shock. Zephyrion, the Wind Dragon, was lashing his tail, the air around him swirling in jagged, anxious gusts. But it was Ingi who looked the worst. The Dragon King's scales, usually radiant, seemed dull, his eyes fixed on the empty space where the woman had stood.

"Ingi," I said, my voice cutting through the heavy silence. "You recognized her instantly. Djinn."

Ingi let out a breath that came out as a low, mournful rumble. "I could never be confused, Craig. My hands were the ones that turned the key on her prison. I had no choice... I had to seal her."

"Because of Pyrion," I said, the name tasting like cold iron in my mouth.
