Chapter 16 - Mirra's background

At first Mirra had only felt grateful to Nim for saving her from the red slime.

Thanks to that event she had decided to travel with him.

Also Nim was strong and it would be safer for her.

Then during the course of the trip Nim proved to be not only strong, but a sincere person, to the point of being somewhat simple.

She could deduce this thanks to the fact that she had met many people who had other motives for approaching her.

In the end with the scene of the murderer, she had made a decision.

- First of all my full name is Mirra Arnord - Mirra

Nim looks contemplatively at Mirra. Nim knew that people who could have a surname were only two types: nobles or aristocrats.

Nim already suspected that Mirra could be one of them, it was not difficult to realize, given that Mirra used good quality equipment and also had that unknown storage item.

All those things should not be cheap items, at least for the current Nim.

-I'm sure you must be surprised- Mirra was expecting Nim's surprise.

- Not really, your team is very striking

-What... but this is a normal team- Mirra looks at her team.

Nim didn't want to continue with that topic, since the two had different points of view due to the environment in which they had grown up.

- So, are you a student of that Magic Academy?- changing the subject Nim continues.

- Yes..- Mirra answers somewhat hesitantly.

- A few days ago I saw several students entering with their teachers- At that time Nim had also seen that the students were wearing clothing that seemed to be some kind of uniform, Mirra was not wearing that, with that information Nim made a guess.

Hearing this Mirra is startled as if she had been caught.

- Did you... run away?- Nim is quickly interrupted by Mirra.

- Don't say that, don't make accusations based on assumptions.

Although Mirra said that, it didn't seem very convincing.

- Then...- Nim continued.

- It's okay, I didn't run away, I just came separately

Mirra continued - Isn't it boring if you're always being protected by the elders?- Mirra was a very active girl, that had made the teachers always keep an eye on her.

Although the teachers sometimes called him out, they weren't harsh, as his father was one of the most influential people in the country.

Nim nodded.

- True, how can you call someone an adventurer if you don't face risks - Mirra continued to let out all her complaints.

- Okay, telling you all this means that I trust you, now it's your turn to talk about yourself - Mirra looked intently at Nim.

- About me.. - Nim was caught off guard.

- Yes, about you, I want to know how you got that great strength, maybe a great adventurer trained you from a very young age or you are an elite of a great force on the continent - When mentioning the latter, Mirra got excited, thanks to her father she had a broader knowledge of the continent.

Nim could hardly keep up with the talkative Mirra.

In the end Nim resigned herself and told her some things about himself, about his village and how he trained with Mr. Smith.

-What... you come from the outskirts of the city- Mirra was surprised to hear about Nim's origin, and his strength was something he was born with.

She had never heard that someone could be born with a special constitution, probably her father didn't know about it either.

To be honest Mirra was surprised and somewhat disappointed.

Surprised by Nim's simple origins and disappointed that he wasn't from some great power.

Nim didn't seem to notice Mirra's change in expression.

Since Nim didn't have much to tell about him, she started talking about the things she knew.

Like how the Sinfrield Country couldn't be considered a great force on the continent, it was just a normal country like several others.

She also talked about her father, but when she said her father's name, Nim didn't show any surprise, Mirra expected it since Nim wasn't from the city and wouldn't know her father's status.

Mirra continued talking, and when she talked about the dungeons that were in different regions of the continent, Nim listened attentively.

These dungeons were different depending on the region they were in.

For example, the dungeons that were in a desert area, would have monsters of the same attribute.

Or the dungeons that were in the North of the continent, these had powerful Ice monsters.

Nim listening realized that the continent was really vast.

This made him almost unable to wait to visit each of these dungeons.

In the end they talked a lot, or rather Mirra talked a lot.

With high spirits and now a little closer, they get up again to continue their journey.

- Ahh.. I'm so thirsty after all that talk- Mirra takes out a canteen and starts drinking.

After taking a sip, she seems to remember something.

- It's true I didn't explain to you about my storage belt- Mirra points to her waist.

This belt looked like a normal belt except for a strange red gem in the middle.

- This belt as its name says is used to store things in a separate space, it's really convenient- Mirra happily touches her belt.

- That's right, you can give me your backpack that you're carrying, this belt has enough space for that- Mirra points to Nim's backpack.

Nim hearing this is not sure.

- No problem, your items won't be destroyed or anything, plus increasing more things won't make my belt heavy- Mirra who thought Nim had never seen such an item begins to explain.

Although it was true that Nim had never seen an item like that, it seemed to be of better quality than those simple cubes he saw in the shops in the city.

In the end Nim agreed to give him his backpack, or else Mirra would not stop talking until she convinced him.

- Let's go

Nim and Mirra advance to the portal, before entering Mirra holds Nim's arm, this was so that the portal would not separate them when they reached the next floor.

....

Swoosh

Nim cuts a large bat in half with her sword.

Mirra, who was at her side, also cuts another bat.

- These monsters became somewhat annoying- Mirra looks at the corpse of the bat.

These monsters, although they were not strong, were very good at dodging.

It had been a bit difficult for her to hit her blows.

Looking up, she sees Nim cutting the remaining bats without any difficulty.

Mirra was no longer surprised by Nim's strength, rather now that she knew someone more talented than her, it made her strive harder to improve herself.

After finishing the battle, Nim and Mirra continue looking for the portal to the next floor.

- There should be a fork in the road- Mirra looks at the map of this floor.

Mirra and Nim had already been on the fourth floor for a while. This level was a bit larger than the others and there were also some barrels and boxes in some corners. When you checked, these were empty. This was also something strange, but the adventurers didn't give it much thought.

There were also torches and some shiny stones on the walls that illuminated the passages.

"Well, it's this way," Mirra continued talking while Nim followed him.

As he went along, Nim realized that he had actually underestimated the difficulty of finding the portal to the next floor, since without a map it would have taken him more than three days to reach the fifth floor.
