"Me?" David Jones's eyes shifted evasively. The fat across his entire body wobbled like jello. "I'll be covering your rear, obviously!"
"Ouch! Damn, sweetheart, how could you ask something so stupid?"
"Can't you see those monsters are already moving this way? If I don't deal with them, how are we supposed to retreat after you land the hit?"
Ohguchi Akase felt a wave of genuine emotion.
So David Jones had already thought that far ahead.
He could no longer hold back his feelings and leaned in to plant a kiss on David Jones , but David Jones's fat hand came up and blocked him.

Though reluctant, Ohguchi Akase activated the invisibility buff and slipped away like a ghost toward the Black Dragon.
The monsters around him stirred, moving through the dark.
Ohguchi Akase's heart was uneasy.
But when he realized none of them could see him at all, his nerves settled.

His mind made up, Ohguchi Akase surged forward, charging at the Black Dragon with everything he had.

And his weapon wasn't just any weapon. The Bloodthirsty Mad Blade was a master-tier weapon he'd pulled from a silver treasure chest, with a 20% armor-piercing effect. Vicious.
He'd even activated the Bloodthirsty Mad Blade's built-in secret technique.

By Ohguchi Akase's precise calculations, the dragon had to have taken some damage. Factor in the weak point hit, and he might just have the chance to join David Jones in kicking a dragon while it was down.
His blade had stabbed into the Black Dragon's chest, hadn't it?

"David-san! I did it!"
Ohguchi Akase spun around to look behind him.
All he could see was David Jones sprinting away in full panic.
"Did what, exactly?"
A low, ragged growl came from directly behind him.
Ohguchi Akase turned.
The Black Dragon was right there. Its shadow swallowed him whole. Those crimson-gold dragon eyes stared down at him with cold contempt.
The massive body showed no injury whatsoever. The Molten Core on its chest wasn't shattered. If anything, it was glowing a little brighter than before.
"Impossible!"
"My — my, my Bloodthirsty Mad Blade?!"
Ohguchi Akase was struck with pure terror. The sound that came out of him was a shriek like a slaughtered loli.
He scrambled to check the system log:
[Your skill Flash Throw has been activated]
[Flash Throw struck the target, dealing 1 point of damage]
[Mad Dragon Shock struck the target , damage calculation failed. You dealt 0 damage to the target]
[Your weapon Bloodthirsty Mad Blade has reached 0 durability and is destroyed]
Ohguchi Akase understood.
His face went white. His heart turned to ash.
He hadn't broken through the defense at all.
Getting caught by this Black Dragon , according to what Yamaguchi Village Chicken had said , at minimum he was in for a meal of shit.
Only David could save him now.
Ohguchi Akase stared in the direction David had run and let out a broken wail:
"David-san, save me! I don't want to eat shit!"
The night was deep and dark. No reply came.
Only in the team chat channel did anything appear , David Jones's farewell message, floating up on the screen.
"A true sweetheart must dare to sacrifice for love!"
"I will remember you, sweetheart!"
"I swear to God!"
