Everyone loves saying how Miko and I connected the moment we met. How it was an instant click, and that's why we are as close as we are now.
But, to me, the story goes a little differently, and I know if I asked Miko, he would say the same thing too. Yes, we love chalkboarding things up to something simple that we can understand and then set them free. If it's too complicated, then it's perhaps not meant to be told over and over again.
Everyone loves an instant connection, the sparks flying everywhere kind of story; that's how ours is told. How this friendship is described in relation to how it came to be. I believed it too, until I realized that it isn't true.
It wasn't love at first sight. I might have been less jaded then, a little hopeful, but Miko and I are not the love at first sight couple.
What I felt for him, at that first glance, was not love, but it felt like something more honest. Something raw and undiluted to personal delusions.
Passion.
