Chapter 42 - Dance to death

Arc 2:- INDESCRIBABLE STEPS

Chapter->31

-->Dance of death

Scyures felt a melancholy, it was unexplainable but what he felt was an utter misery which befell her with the gazes she feared, a world where death was the only end.

Lemonsa danced with Scyures in circles as their form ended up in the centre giving Scyures not much time to react.

She pushed Scyures lightly as she rotated on her spot like a ballerina with grace & sincerity.

Her gown flowing serenely as Scyures was conflicted for a second, not knowing if it was a move or was she disappointed, even though such feeling never overpowered him.

Lemosa came closer, her breath waking him up from numbness.

His eyes shining like it encompassed the whole cosmos innit met her eyes which were like an inticrately crafted catheral.

Her head statted dropping back as her hands carressed over sides of his neck before locking behind his neck.

She lifted her leg up waiting to be lifted up like a swan. His hands were just under her breasts, pressing side-by-side up on the rib-cage he could feel through.

As his hands lifted her up, he could feel her almost feline like body rotating turning into a real swan pose. An underlyinf shame and awe struck him as he was neither athletic nor a dancer to be familiar with this all. It was mostly seen in advertisements or some games by him.

"Do not worry..." such words of clearity brushed against Scyures's ears.

"Do not care... about the gazes." His eyes opened, he felt the shame built in his forehead losen up as he felt he could breathe more soundly.

"Let them fall onto me,..

I do not wish to care."

She slowly came down from the swan pose as her hand rested on Scyures's shoulder.

She...Scyures thought. His thought did not continue, or did it?

She held his hand and rested it on her waist.

She took a step back, slowly rolling in nearing him as she closed her eyes. Then with a swift turn, she rolled out like a silk thread, running in her tip-toes coming back for another swan.

Scyures lifted her up as her hands locked with his and lifted her whole body up, her gaze meeting Scyures's.

Which made him slightly blush but also comforted and confident.

Her legs started moving as she started walking down in air like walking on stairs, then halfway through her legs touched the ground.

She slowly kneeled as pigeons as white as snow flew around; petal roses falling from their wings.

Silent enough not to make a single noise.

She extended her hand asking for his hand.

Overjoyed he, rested his palm on hers' as she smooched it and pulled him closer down near her, locking their fingers.

This...his mind was blank as it felt like coldwater being poured around. His earlier confidence wore down.

Then, her loose gown's strap came low from the left shoulder and then she paused.

What happened? Scyures thought.

She released his hand, raised her legs near up and higged them tightly digging her face in.

There was a dead silence, static noise creeping in his ears. Then a laughter

The invisible crowd started laughing as the petals on the ground started drying. Scyures looked around, for a moment his breath staggered. Cracked. Shortened.

His eyes dropped down, looking at her. She ws shivering, he could hear snippets of her voice, it did not sound good.

She needed a hand, a spark. Once which she used to ignite the stage was now dim.

And in all the happenings, the gore-like visuals came to his mind from the house. He tightened his grip... I can't lose.

Scyures removed his deep blue coat, throwing it away as the moment it touched the floor, it burnt away.

His placed his palm on her cold shoulder, rising her gown up from his fingers as he placed it on back.

''You can't lose now. This is the 'turning point', the more laughter and means we're closer to the peak. Do you wish to curl up and weep till the storm engulfs you?"

But...

His words did not cut through. Scyures was taken aback, was he wrong? Did his hand on her shoulder wrong? Did he mess it up? For a moment he forgot about everything else and felt if the gazes were landing on his, the laughter stopped.

It was dead queit, a static creeping near his ears. His vision magnifying.

Calm down..calm down Scyures, you have to do it! Calm down! He yelled at himself in his mind. But the gazes felt too sharp as if they were listening to his mind. Then he looked down, behind, up, left and right.

There was a back door, was he supposed to run? Back off now? Would it end then...? Ending it seemed easier than ever.

It wasn't his obligation go through this much. If thought from the start, it just felt ridiculous.

Nearly blank, he knelt. He raised his hand and reacher hers. Slowly, trying to pick it with his fingers.

His fingers slipped off as her hand was tightly stuck to herself. A half-groan came out of his mouth.

He looked at his hands, the world was revolving. Static creeping behind his ears.

He was nearly hearing the blood around his ears throbbing. His lips felt dry. It was so great some momemts ago..

What went wrong?

Several things ran through his minds, different things he could've done if he could reset this. Could he? Maybe.

His vision grew narrower. Darkness clouding the edges of his vision.

He was practically frozen. Weight of his body felt like dozen tones. He raised his hands and reacher for her again.

His palm resting on her wrist, pressing on her wrist.

"Do..." words stuck in his mouth.

"Do yo..." cat got his tongue.

"Lemos‐s..." he tucked his tongue away.

"He...y.." his tongue fell off somewhere.

He clenched his eyes. Nothing happened. He opened them again, darkness. He dragged his knee near her, then rested his forhead on her closed of wrist's edges.

Woosh!

Woosh!

A glowing blue butterfly came in. It circled over them in the air and then slowly landed on Scyures's nape. Then it glowed and disappeared, the glow travelled through Scyures's locket as it moved a little.

Nothing happened.

Scyures did not feel it at all.

Lemosa did not feel anything at all.

"Do you want it to.. end.. like this?" He spoke.

Her hands losened, she raised her head up. Her eyes glowing in from the dark.

"Was it always supposed to end like this?" He muttered.

They felt as if chimes were ringing, Scyures thought about giving up.

He looked down. He felt like giving up. He started standing up. He felt like running away. He stood up. He cursed himself for throwing away his coat. He reacher out for her. He felt like giving up. He pulled her up. He felt like he was going against her. He looked at her face, cheeks dried with tear-trails. He tucked her hair behind her ears.

"Let us continue."

Scyures's words resounded and echoed in the hall as the voices froze in the serenity of words. Lemosa looked back, her tears being drunk by her skin, turning into beautiful flocks of symbols and arts as her whole skin was like a page with beauty carved on it.

She took a breath in. As Scyures pulled her in as they danced again!

Until the moon dipped down, courting the arrival of sun through the hallway of dawn.

The sun was slowly revealed as specks of light shone through the cathedral, two charming figures dancing in the cathedral as the book's carving was cracking with visible golden liquid flowing from it.

The two visible figures danced with shameless laughter and serene moves forming between them as Scyures fell on his back, sitting on the ground.

He took a deep breath as golden shining sweat trickled down his face, he panted, heavily.

This is the longest I've ever danced.

Ever performed and ever moved. Excluding the anomaly fight, or maybe this was even harder. But satisfaction I have brewing in my heart is above anything else.

He thought.

"Hehe..ha"

sweet laughter filled the cathedral as Lemosa was laughing with her finger over her glossy lip.

Her hair were messed up and her body was dripping from sweat. A sweet and cold wind blew dissolving their sweats instantly making Scyures feel the calmness in him.

"I'm grateful to you, grateful to your moves, grateful to be able to dance with you, grateful to dance amongst the gazes and repel them away. Not caring about them until the very end was my greatest pleasures. To be able to dance with you again, It would be a pleasure. But now.."

As Scyures saw Lemosa's figure was being enveloped in bright light as Cathedral was shaking, feeling it would collapse any moment.

"I feel no regret."

Scyures's heart was throbbing with beautiful violence.

"I'm truly grateful, so much that I cannot express it in words."

His attention was locked onto the golden beauty in front of him.

"You have such a beautiful soul."

The transcending feelings of Scyures were colliding together. As Lemosa bent, lowering her head, her gaze meeting Scyures's.

She raised her head and ran towards him. Slowly turning into golden specks, connecting beam direct to the sky.

Tap. Tap. Tap.

The steps glittered like ocean of crystals as she held Scyures's face. Her gaze meeting his, in this sudden moment of split-seconds. A lot was said.

She kissed on his forehead, patting his head. Hugging him by his chest as her figure vanished with a ladder of light connecting to the sky from the hole on cathedral.

As the cathedral collapsed under the light of shining sun. The world vanished, only to leave the visible house again.

Scyures's heart was at ease as three rings like pattern of pure golden ink tied around his hand, imprinting.

He looked at the house, taking a big sigh out.

Man...this was a lot. But...I'm happy to be able to do that. This really was a "Dance to death".
