Chapter 716 - Chapter 716: Charcadet

"Annihilape, I'll need you to keep watch tonight," Gary said.

"Anni."

Annihilape indicated that there was no problem.

Gary was very relieved about Annihilape and fell asleep peacefully.

Annihilape was also very considerate. When it saw Gary resting, it didn't make any noise to disturb him. It just sat on a stone ledge and stared at the Malicious Armor that had been placed several meters away.

Originally, Annihilape had wanted to bring the Malicious Armor closer, but Gary felt that Charcadet would definitely not dare to get close to Annihilape. It would be better to let Annihilape stay far away and make Charcadet feel that there was a chance of obtaining the Malicious Armor.

The moon was dark and the wind was high that night.

Various sounds came from the forest, but none of them disturbed Gary's sleep.

I don't know how long it took, but Gary, who was sleeping, felt someone touching his arm.

Gary opened his eyes and saw Annihilape's face and its scarlet eyes.

"Anni."

Seeing Gary wake up, Annihilape immediately pointed to the side. The location was naturally where the Malicious Armor had been placed.

"It's here!"

Gary immediately sat up and looked in the direction Annihilape was pointing. He saw a humanoid Pokémon lying on the ground two meters away from the Malicious Armor. Two clusters of flames were still flickering on top of the Pokémon.

[Lv. 16 Charcadet ♀ / Elite]

"I found it this easily!?"

Gary took out his phone and checked the time. It was past midnight.

He had thought it would take two or three days to find a Charcadet, but he didn't expect to meet one in just one night. Although its potential wasn't high, it didn't matter.

"It's female too."

Gary walked over and saw that Charcadet was completely motionless. It must have been knocked out instantly by Annihilape with one controlled punch.

Gary took out a Full Restore and sprayed Charcadet, then took out a Poké Ball and tapped it against Charcadet. Before the Poké Ball stopped shaking, he put the Malicious Armor into the System Storage.

The Poké Ball stopped shaking after three vibrations and successfully captured Charcadet.

Gary picked up the Poké Ball and checked Charcadet's data.

[Pokémon: Charcadet ♀]

[Type: Fire]

[Level: 16]

[Potential: Elite]

[Ability: Flame Body (When a Pokémon with this Ability is hit by a contact move, there is a 30% chance of burning the attacker.)]

[Moves: Leer, Ember, Clear Smog, Will-O-Wisp]

[Friendship: 60]

"Yes, it's the Hidden Ability."

Gary didn't care about Charcadet's potential. What he cared about was Charcadet's Ability, because after evolving into Ceruledge, the regular Ability is Flash Fire, and the Hidden Ability is Weak Armor.

Ceruledge itself has the Fire type, and opponents normally won't use Fire-type moves to hit it, so it's better to have Weak Armor as the Ability instead.

Because Ceruledge's Special Defense is higher than its Physical Defense, ordinary Trainers who know this will have their Pokémon use physical attack moves to attack Ceruledge, which can trigger Ceruledge's Weak Armor Ability to increase its Speed.

For the opponent, although triggering Ceruledge's Ability isn't ideal, the same Weak Armor will not only increase Ceruledge's Speed but also reduce Ceruledge's Physical Defense. This way, the next effective physical attack will cause even more damage.

Therefore, Ceruledge's fighting style is to attack without defending, and pursue the fastest speed possible to defeat its opponent. If the opponent cannot be defeated in a short time, Ceruledge will basically be finished.

"The friendship is really low."

Gary released Charcadet and began to teach it moves.

"Only 4 can be taught."

Gary found that the number of moves Charcadet could currently learn was too small. He could only teach 4. Only by evolving Charcadet into Ceruledge could he teach it more moves.

However, with a friendship of 60, Charcadet should listen to his words at least somewhat. Even if it was dissatisfied, it would follow his lead for the sake of Annihilape's fist.

Gary did not recall the Poké Ball and left Charcadet outside.

Annihilape had not used heavy force. It had only knocked Charcadet unconscious. After spraying the Full Restore, it would wake up soon.

After about ten minutes, Charcadet woke up from its coma.

"Char!"

Charcadet screamed in surprise, mainly because it was scared by Gary and Annihilape. After anyone woke up and saw two big figures staring at them, they would definitely be frightened. What's more, Charcadet was still a young girl.

"Don't be nervous. We won't hurt you," Gary comforted gently.

The little Charcadet didn't believe Gary's words. It had been attacked by Annihilape just now, and its eyes ignited with flames as it soon entered battle mode.

"Char!"

Before Gary could continue to persuade it, Charcadet directly attacked Annihilape, and a ball of Ember burst out from its body.

Annihilape didn't dodge. It just swung its fist gently, and the wind pressure generated by the fist directly blew the Ember away.

Charcadet: (...!)

"Char!!"

Charcadet was shocked. Its Ember was actually extinguished by a single punch.

"Charcadet, please calm down. I healed you just now. Also, Annihilape is my Pokémon, and it won't hurt you," Gary hurriedly tried to persuade.

If Charcadet continued to make trouble, what awaited it would be Annihilape's iron fist.

Annihilape and Charcadet were not the same species, and Annihilape looked down on Charcadet. It would not be sympathetic just because Charcadet was small. If Annihilape was not even sympathetic to its own kind, it would not feel pity for Charcadet either.

"Ch...ar!"

Charcadet was naturally in a dilemma. It had been unconscious, so it didn't know what had happened during its coma. But it seemed like it couldn't escape the current situation, and it didn't know what to do for the moment.

Seeing that Charcadet had stopped attacking, Gary continued, "Charcadet, you have already been captured by me. Now you are my Pokémon. Be obedient. As long as you listen to me, I will let you evolve."

"Char."

Charcadet was stunned. It understood what being captured meant, but it hadn't expected that one day it would be subdued by a human, and it suddenly felt sad.

Seeing the sad look on Charcadet's face, Gary was amused.

This little girl had no idea how much of an opportunity she had just encountered, yet she still dared to feel uncomfortable about it.

With just Elite-level potential, she couldn't even reach level 40 on her own. Now, after following him, her future growth limit would be raised by several levels, and her own kind would only be able to look up at her back in the future.

"Don't feel bad. Following me is not a bad thing. You can feel the moves you've mastered. I just taught you four moves, and two of them you will definitely like," Gary reminded.

Charcadet looked puzzled, but she still checked her own moves as Gary said.

Charcadet: "Char! (QAQ)!!"
