Chapter 506 - Chapter 506: Tyranitar Joins

Chapter 506: Tyranitar Joins

"It defeated Anabel's Metagross so easily. This Eevee is really strong, and its evasion rate is way too high. Is the effect of the Anticipation Ability really that powerful?" Scott muttered to himself.

Eevee was a very common Pokémon. Most ordinary Trainers were familiar with Eevee's situation. They also knew that Eevee could have the Anticipation Ability, which allowed Eevee to predict the direction of the opponent's attacks in advance, thereby improving Eevee's dodge rate.

Anabel silently recalled Metagross, then sent out her second Pokémon.

"Go, my friend."

The Poké Ball opened, and a ball of white light landed on the ground. As the light faded, an elegant Espeon appeared.

[Lv. 65 Espeon / Champion]

Anabel's Espeon was also very powerful, with the potential to reach the Champion level. Espeon was also Anabel's favorite Pokémon.

Ash's victory over this Espeon had been completely accidental. Even under the normal rules, Ash had some advantages. If the battle had been fought according to the rules of Gary and Anabel's battle, the Battle Tower would have held Ash back for about a month.

"Eevee, use Thunderbolt!"

"Espeon, dodge and use Psychic!"

Gary and Anabel issued their instructions one after another.

Eevee used Thunderbolt to attack.

Espeon was very fast and easily dodged Eevee's Thunderbolt. It then used Psychic, and Eevee also jumped aside to dodge Psychic's attack.

Gary immediately thought of Espeon's special trait. Because Espeon was born with the ability to predict danger, and it was also a Psychic-type Pokémon. If developed in this way, Espeon's dodging ability would be greatly enhanced.

"What a flexible Eevee." Anabel was also surprised. After fighting for so long, the only skill from her Pokémon that had hit Eevee was Metagross's Meteor Mash, but it was blocked by Reflect.

It was clear that Gary's Eevee's evasion ability was similar to Anabel's Espeon.

"Eevee, use Fire Blast!" Gary ordered.

"Vee!"

Eevee jumped up and spat out Fire Blast, allowing it to cover an area on the field.

"Quick Attack to rush at Eevee and attack with Iron Tail." Anabel ordered.

Whoosh!!

Espeon dashed out, leaving a streak of white light behind.

Boom!!

Fire Blast exploded in the air.

Espeon also reached beneath Eevee as it fell, and its forked tail turned into a shining silver light as it leaped toward the sky.

"We'll use Iron Tail as well." Gary ordered.

Eevee's tail also flashed with silver light as it swung at the incoming Espeon. Just as Eevee's Iron Tail was about to hit Espeon, Espeon's body magically shifted back a position in midair, causing Eevee's Iron Tail to miss. Then, Espeon suddenly exerted force and whipped Eevee with its tail, sending Eevee flying high into the air.

Gary saw that Espeon could move in midair, which was assisted by Psychic power.

He hadn't expected that Anabel's Espeon not only had a high dodge rate, but could even do two things at once, using Psychic while performing another skill—something that required a lot of training to achieve.

Espeon landed first because it was closer to the ground. Anabel took advantage of the moment and said, "Now, Zap Cannon!"

Espeon condensed a golden Electro Ball and fired it like a cannonball. Zap Cannon quickly rushed toward Eevee.

"Come back!"

Just as Zap Cannon was about to hit Eevee, a red beam struck Eevee first, and Eevee disappeared instantly.

Having lost its target, Zap Cannon rushed straight into the wall in front of it and exploded upon impact.

"Ah... what a pity." Scott pouted.

If Gary hadn't recalled Eevee in time, Espeon's Zap Cannon would definitely have defeated Eevee.

Obviously, Scott was overthinking it.

Even if Gary's Eevee had been hit by Zap Cannon, it wouldn't have taken that much damage. Did he really think Eviolite was worn for nothing?

But if Eevee continued fighting Espeon, it would turn into a drawn-out battle, and Gary didn't want to waste that much time.

"Tyranitar, I'll leave the rest of the match to you." Gary threw out the Poké Ball.

"Tyra!"

The tyrant Tyranitar appeared.

Tyranitar raised its proud head with a defiant look on its face. Grains of sand and dust emerged, forming a Sandstorm that covered the entire battlefield.

The last time it fought against Yujin, Tyranitar's performance had been limited because of the sea. This time was different. No one could stop Tyranitar now.

"Espeon!"

Espeon suddenly launched an attack, leaving a trail of white light behind it as it used Quick Attack to quickly close in on Tyranitar. With a front flip, its silver-glowing tail slashed down onto Tyranitar's body.

Bang!!

Iron Tail struck Tyranitar, but Tyranitar didn't react at all.

Tyranitar glanced at Espeon. Its huge tail became covered in silver light, and it swung it like a whip.

Bang!!

"Espeon!!"

Espeon was struck by Tyranitar's tail. Its slender body flew backward and slammed into the wall behind Anabel.

"Espeon...!" Anabel looked at Espeon worriedly.

"Espe..."

Espeon struggled to stand up from the ground. It had been seriously injured by that single Iron Tail, and its condition was clearly not suitable for continued battle.

"This Sandstorm..."

Anabel suddenly realized why Espeon hadn't dodged Tyranitar's Iron Tail just now. It was because of the Sandstorm.

Espeon was born with the ability to predict danger, but the principle behind it was that it used the fine fur on its body to sense the airflow to predict the opponent's next move. But now the field was in Sandstorm weather, and Espeon's fur was blown into disarray by the Sandstorm. It couldn't predict Tyranitar's next move through airflow anymore.

"Come back!"

After figuring this out, Anabel decisively recalled Espeon.

Anabel had already used two Pokémon. Since Espeon had been recalled, she would now have to send out her third Pokémon.

What would this third Pokémon be?

It would definitely not be Alakazam.

"My best friend, please!" Anabel threw the Poké Ball in her hand without delay.

Great!

Bang!!

A heavyweight Pokémon appeared and landed on the field. The ground could barely withstand its weight.

[Lv. 66 Snorlax / Champion]

"Snorlax!!"

Snorlax flexed its biceps. Although it looked like fat, the lines of muscle could vaguely be seen.

Although Snorlax was a large, heavy Pokémon, its body was made up of muscle wrapped in fat. In particular, Snorlax's muscular explosiveness and endurance were extremely strong. Otherwise, it couldn't have supported that massive body.
