Chapter 26( Canon start )
A year and five months later
Rion sat atop a moving train, a cigarette hanging from her lips and a lighter in her hand.
Flick. Flick. She tried lighting it, but the flame refused to spark.
She shook it violently, frustration creeping into her expression. "Tch. It won't light."
Above her, Nagumo descended, a knife in hand, aiming straight for her head.
BAM
Rion blocked it with the blunt side of her own knife, her grip steady. "Got a light, Nagumo?" she asked, smirking.
"Just this." Nagumo raised a gun at her.
Before he could pull the trigger, Rion dismantled it in a swift motion, yanking the sharp end of the barrel and driving it straight into his neck.
Which nagumo easily deflects it
_____
Satoda glanced at the students gathered before her. "Kids... do you know where those four went?"
One of them shifted uncomfortably before answering, "The rest of us got shot with a paintball a while ago. They've been battling for nine hours now."
"Oh my... then what about Kasumi-kun?" Satoda asked, her tone laced with curiosity. "As far as I remember, he's not very good at shooting."
The students exchanged uneasy glances until one hesitantly raised his hand. "I... I saw him come out of a casino naked."
" I see." Veins began bulging from her forhead
_____
Sakamoto stood in front of the approaching train, unfazed by its speed. As it closed in, he leapt, smashing through the front windshield and crashing inside
Brushing the dust from his shoulders, he ripped a handrail from its place and stepped deeper into the train.
Crack.
Glass shattered as Nagumo and Rion burst in from opposite sides, crashing through the windows.
Before they could land, Sakamoto lunged forward, swinging the handrail at them with precise force.
The narrow space left them with little room to manoeuvre, forcing both to twist midair to narrowly evade the attack.
"Ouch, that hurts, Sakamoto," Rion muttered, shaking off the sting.
"Haha, you're really into this, huh?" Nagumo said, his usual smile never wavering. He reached into his jacket, pulling out two more knives. "Loser buys lunch."
Before Sakamoto could respond, both lunged at him at the same time.
Sakamoto reacted instantly, using the handrail to catch their wrists and slam them down. But just as he was about to counter, Nagumo planted his feet against the train door and kicked off, sending all three of them tumbling out of the train.
As they fell, Rion aimed her gun at Nagumo while he simultaneously drove his knife toward Sakamoto's neck.
But before anything could happen, all three froze, sensing a familiar presence.
"Oh?"
Standing below them was Satoda, holding Kasumi by the wrist. Next to her, he looked almost childlike, a towel draped over his shoulders, covering his entire body. His expression remained blank as he gazed up at them, unfazed by the scene unfolding above.
"All of you, come on down," she said with a smile, looking up at them.
Kasumi turned his head toward her, frowning. "Come on, miss, you're embarrassing me. I'm not a ki-"
"Shhh."
________
"You're expelled," the vice principal said flatly.
"Who? Which one of us?" Rion asked, pointing between the group.
"All four of you," he sighed, looking at us with pure disappointment. "A bunch of civilians saw you, you damaged facilities, ignored class rules, used weapons without permission, and worst of all... public nudity." His eyes locked onto Kasumi with a sharp glare."Anyway, if I'm getting fired over this mess, you four are going down with me."
"Can you please reconsider? I won't do it agai-"
"Kasumi, this is the fifth time you've gambled your clothes away!" the vice president snapped, his face red with frustration.
"Whatever, dude. Fuck you," Kasumi said flatly, making the vice president's eye twitch in barely contained rage.
"Come on, we're just passionate about our classes thats all " Rion chimed in, casually trying to light a cigarette.
"No smoking, Akao!" he barked, veins bulging in his forehead.
Rion ignored him, taking a drag before glancing at Kasumi. "Yo, Sumi, this cigarette tastes weird. Where'd you buy it from?"
Kasumi blinked, then shrugged. "Oh, that? Found it on the ground. Thought it was still good."
Rion instantly spat it out, gagging.
" You bitch that's worth like 500 yen " kasumi exclaimed at her
Chuckling at their antics, Nagumo turned to Sakamoto. "This is your fault for breaking the handrail, Sakamoto."
"Hah? I thought that was a weapon," Sakamoto said with a shrug. "I mean, it was removable."
"Huff... In any case," the vice principal sighed, tossing a envelope onto the table in front of them.
Nagumo picked it up.
"As of now, you don't have enough credits to pass this year. So, I've arranged some extra assignments to determine whether you make it through this year." The vice principal said " alot of teachers think we should just expel you trouble makers , but as usual satoda sensei stood by your side and advocated for making a special exception
" What's the mission? " Sakamoto asked
" Kill the target all the info you need will be in the envelope "
___________
"There's only one target, right?" Rion said, cracking her knuckles. "Rock-paper-scissors. Loser does the homework."
"The macho style?" Nagumo raised an eyebrow.
"Obviously."
Kasumi eyed the envelope in Sakamoto's hand, barely paying attention. "Yeah, no can do. I've got a prostate exam in a few hours."
Rion and Nagumo both tilted their heads.
"... Just say you want to get touched, Kasumi," Rion muttered, shaking her head in disappointment
Bump.
Someone knocked into her shoulder as they passed. She turned sharply, eyes landing on a white-haired guy who looked vaguely familiar.
"You wanna get touched?" She asked him sarcastically.
"T-Touched?!"
"Don't be mean, Akao," Sakamoto said.
"I wasn't bullying him."
Kasumi crouched down, picking something up from the ground-a photograph. A family picture?
"Yo, man, this fell from you," Kasumi said, holding it out to the white-haired guy
The white-haired guy snatched it from his hand without a word, turning on his heel and walking away, leaving Kasumi staring after him in disbelief.
"Pfft-hahaha!" Nagumo burst out laughing.
Sakamoto, arms crossed, smirked. "He made the right call. Knowing you, you'd have charged him a thousand yen for that 'act of kindness.'
