Chapter 59 - The OtherWorlders

"Goodnight everyone. See you tomorrow."

"Good night Haizea." Her classmates replied while walking to their rooms, whispering about how nice she is.

Almost everyone in the girls' dormitories was either fast asleep or already in their bedrooms. But Haizea noticed that Nyla's room was still empty.

While each room was assigned a minimum of two students, others having as much as four, Nyla didn't get a roommate.

If it wasn't already obvious enough, everyone had been avoiding her, going to great lengths just to keep away, even breaking the school rules. *Just to clarify again, no one actually hates her.*

Haizea wanted to ask her if they could be roommates, but curfew is almost and they haven't been able to talk again after that whole encounter with Riku.

There are things that she wants to discuss with her. "Where could she be though?"

In the baths.

She lost track of time while relaxing in the bath, meditating about life.

Since it was used by the whole dorm, the bath itself was pretty big—and she was the only one in it.

Although her eyes were open, her gaze seemed to be focused on something else. She was a bit sad. Whatever she was thinking about must've been taking a toll on her.

"Hey."

Seemingly out of nowhere, another woman, who sounded a lot like an adult, appeared behind her, wrapping her arms around her shoulders.

"We're a lot more alike than I thought."

Her face wasn't visible through the steam, but whoever she was pissed Nyla off with her interruption.

She turned around, prepping a punch.

"Could you give me, some damn privacy!"

The punch landed, sending our uninvited guest through the wall to the outside.

Then she grabbed her towel and went to put her clothes back on to head back to her room.

Meanwhile the guest got up from the ground, without a single scratch on her body, and a grin on her face.

There was a lot of noise in class as everyone was settling in for the morning lesson. As usual, Nyla looked tired while seated on her lone yet again.

"Settle down everyone." The hero, or their teacher, walked into the class empty handed as usual, even though there's only been like three classes.

"I know the class hasn't started yet, but I'm still taking your time."

"Isn't that breaking the rules."

"Who's gonna stop me?"

"Fair enough."

Everyone went to their seats and readied themselves for a lesson.

"For the first couple of minutes, rather than teaching, there's a few things that I want to talk about first. Its regarding a few of you in this class, and others in different classes."

She continued. "Today, we'll be talking about a special kind of people." When you think about it, the grin she had now was pretty similar to the one of that guest the previous night.

"We'll be talking about those specifically chosen by the goddess to become the next heroes of this generation."

"The Otherworlders."

Then, after a long conversation...

"There's, there's no way. I can't believe this. Is that true, Ms. Faelan?!" This was Riku's comment from the back of the class.

Haizea was also dumbfounded.

The hero, just admitted to the whole class, that she's another worlder, just like Riku.

"Yes, that's true. Not only that, but there's more of them here. Why don't we introduce ourselves, those of us who are from Earth."

"I have a question Miss." This was the boy who never talked to anyone, the one that defeated the two bosses that fused into one.

"Yes. What is it?"

"Is there a reason that you want them to reveal themselves? To me, it only seems like an invasion of privacy."

"Yes actually. A good one. Our next class will have something to do with them. I have a little, Pep talk, to give them. Not only that, but I'll be able to teach the future classes based on them."

"For the most part," She continued, "it isn't about their power since they are stronger than most. Rather, it has something to do with morals."

"Makes sense." The boy stood up. "Then I'll start. My name, is Daichi Hagiwara."

That name. Almost half the class reacted to hearing it, most especially Haizea, who had her mouth covered from shock. Or was it excitement, maybe even fear.

"You were, from class 2 right?" A girl asked him."

"Yes. And I'm guessing..."

She stood. "I'm Haruno Shimizu. I'm also from another world. The same one as him."

Haizea was even more shocked. Even Nyla was caught by surprise.

"Haruno? Is that you?" Someone from the front of the class whimpered and tears began rolling down her eyes. "It's me, Kaori."

"Heh. Still a crybaby huh?" Kaori ran to her then put her arms around her shoulder.

"Haruno! I missed you so much!" She cried and yelled while Haruno comforted her.

Then another boy stood confidently.

"I'm Hachi Amari. From the same world as well."

At that point, more and more began to reveal themselves.

"I'm Kenzo Higuchi."

"And I'm Junichi Hattori."

"Ema Ishida."

"Asami Ida."

A total of nine so far.

They celebrated, in the middle of class, their reunion. After all, they were all from the same class in their previous lives.

"We're off to a good start. But that's not all of them, are they." The teacher started.

"There is a total of 3 heroes in this class, and one exceptionally strong person. Judging by the strength of those who revealed themselves as other worlders, whom are mostly A class and above, I'm guessing there's a connection."

"Let's start with the most obvious one of them all."

Everyone stared at the back of the class.

"Ummm." He stood. "Hi everyone, I'm Riku Sota, and I'm also from the same world."

Now the mood of the class had changed. Those who were currently standing, whom were all from another world, they were all giving him a weird look, as if they knew something, and they weren't happy about it.

"Great to hear it. And is there someone else?" Her eyes were focused on Nyla, and everyone noticed it.

She stood.

"I'm Nyla."

"...And." She was really excited, and Nyla didn't like it.

"Before that, I was a high schooler in another world... Akari Kano."

"Mm-hmm. Glad you finally said it." Said the teacher.

"Akari? Wasn't she..."

"That introvert who always sat at the back with... What was her name?" *Murmur*

"What the heck is happening? Why... Why are there so many other worlders in this class?" A regular student was shocked, and he wasn't the only one.

"I didn't think a day would come when I'd ever meet a real person from another world, let alone so many of them!"

"And they're all so strong too!"

Their discussion continued in the background as Nyla felt someone tug her right sleeve, the one covering her entire arm. It made her jolt a little.

"Excuse me." It was Haizea, whose head was facing down to avoid eye contact.

"Yes?"

"You said your name was Akari, correct?"

"Yeah."

"..." *Sniffle*

"Huh?"

"You wouldn't be able to recognize, would you?"

"Was I supposed to... know you?"

"You idiot." She lifted her head, revealing her face covered with tears. "It's me, Fumiko."

"F...Fumiko? Is that, really you?"

"You've gotten even taller. I'm jealous."

Haizea tightly hugged her, almost dropping her to the ground, and silently cried. Even Nyla got teary eyed.

This confirmed Haizea's suspicion, that maybe they were both from another world.

What she didn't expect, was for her to be her best friend.

Their teacher noted how emotional the class had gotten. Though she was expecting it, she didn't think it would be at that level. Now she wasn't sure whether to continue with the class.

At that moment, she heard stomping, which not a lot of the other students noticed, but obviously their top four did.

Birds fled from their nests in the nearby trees which shook vigorously.

"A monster." The teacher said. "And its headed this way."

Other students stared outside the windows, confirming that this was the case.

The teacher jumped out, by breaking the window, preparing to face it. She wasn't the only one.

Almost the entire class did the same.

"Ms Faelan." Nyla called her. "Let us handle it."

She stretched her hand backwards towards their class on the second floor, then her spear broke through the wall and flew into her hand with such force that a small shockwave appeared.

"I agree." So said Haizea. "This would be great training for all of us."

The rest of her students looked determined.

"Though I do find that admiring, I wouldn't recommend it."

A giant axe cut through the trees closest to them, revealing a giant minotaur that looked strangely aggressive.

"Why not?"

"It isn't a good idea to attack a monster right now, while the treaty between humans and monsters is still valid."

"Seriously? That thing is obviously going to try to kill us!"

In her mind, she agreed with them. 'But still,' She thought, 'attacking it would start something much greater that we'd prefer to avoid.'

At first, though it did seem aggroed, it wasn't looking like it wanted to attack.

That gave her ample time to investigate it closely.

"There. Its eyes. Why are they glowing like that?" Bright red she meant.

Then it tightened its grip to the giant axe, and swung it down, breaking the ground beneath their fit, all the way to the school building.

Now she knew that there was not much of a choice than to fight it.

But she was puzzled.

First, why was there a monster so close to school grounds?

Second, why was it attacking them?
