Jiang Tao arrived at Mo Corporation the following morning carrying a locked document case.
He had been surprised when Xia Weiwei called to say that Mo Shian wanted to meet him. However, he was not frightened.
An investigator who accepted a case involving two wealthy families had to expect scrutiny.
Joel escorted him to a private conference room on the sixty-fifth floor.
Mo Shian and Weiwei were already waiting.
Jiang Tao greeted them before taking a seat.
"Mr. Mo. Mrs. Mo."
"Thank you for coming," Weiwei said.
"I expected this meeting eventually."
He placed the document case on the table but did not open it.
Mo Shian noticed.
"You are cautious with your client's information."
"Mrs. Mo hired me. Until she authorizes disclosure, the files remain confidential—even from her husband."
Mo Shian looked at Weiwei.
She appreciated Jiang Tao's professionalism.
"You may discuss the investigation with him," she said. "We will be working together."
