The reason Meowth liked Cassandra was simple. Although they had worked with Ash Ketchum and his group a few times before, it was always for a common goal. Now that there were no outsiders meddling, Team Rocket refocused their main target back on Ash's Pikachu. Thus, the trio continued to follow Ash and his friends. However, Meowth had unexpectedly caught a fever due to the change in weather. Had it not been for Cassandra's timely appearance, Meowth might have ended up in a daze.
During the time Cassandra was preparing some traditional medicine for him, Meowth started to develop feelings for her. After all, kind-hearted people are truly wonderful.
Unfortunately for Meowth, his first romance encounter faced a major setback. His rival was that "carnivorous boy" Ash Ketchum, who would never let his childhood friend slip away. If Ash had kept quiet about Cassandra, maybe someone could earn some points by relying on the so-called "unexpected swooper," but Ash had been openly reciprocating Cassandra's feelings.

While Meowth was suffering over his heartbreak, trouble was brewing at the herb shop.
"Hey! Old lady, come out! We're here to buy herbs again!"
Upon hearing the rough voice, the granny frowned, while Cassandra angrily said, "Those guys are back! I really don't understand how they can have such thick skin."
"What's going on? I thought I assigned someone to ensure your safety here?"
Hearing the disturbance outside, Ash Ketchum found it strange. After all, he had arranged for extra personnel to protect Cassandra and the granny.

Cassandra, still clinging to Ash's arm, felt helpless about the recent antics of these thugs. They weren't just causing a ruckus; they were attempting to stock up on herbs, which, as the herb shop, they couldn't refuse to sell.
"Buying herbs recklessly? Are they trying to drive you out of business?" Upon hearing Cassandra's words, Suzy was surprised. She really couldn't understand what these thugs were thinking. Cassandra, however, responded helplessly, "Yes, they come and make noise, claiming we're taking advantage of customers… Many customers understand, but their shouting disrupts everyone else."
"Alright, I understand what to do now."
Since the troublemakers had appeared, Ash Ketchum was not going to play nice anymore. He turned to Misty and the others and said, "I'll go handle this; you all wait a moment. Pikachu, Meowth, Chansey, stay in my clothes and watch closely, okay?"
"Pika!" Let's go! Time to teach them a lesson!)
Pikachu stood on Ash's shoulder, readying its little boxing gloves while Meowth rubbed its paws and said, "Let's go; we'll finish this quickly."
"Lucky!" (Let's smack them in the face!)
As Ash and his team stepped outside, everyone in the shop heard a commotion from outside.
"Bu-yi!"
"How dare you scare my Eevee! Psyduck, hold them down! Everyone, let's beat up these bullies!"
"Attack, Meow!"
"Pikachu!!!"
"Lucky!"
"Boss, I can't move! Ah!!!"

By the time Misty and the others came outside, they found a group of thugs lying on the ground, and Ash was comforting Eevee.
"Don't be afraid, little Eevee. Daddy and your older siblings have taken care of the bad guys." Ash even fed Eevee a piece of candy while Lyn, being sharp-eyed, had already noticed that Eevee hadn't cried at all; it was just playing along with Ash.

Meanwhile, one of the just-beaten thugs got up, glaring at Ash with anger. "Damn it, you actually dared to hit us! We won't let this slide! Get Dodrio to teach that brat a lesson!"

The three-headed Dodrio rushed towards Ash, but Ash, cradling Eevee, remained calm, saying, "Squirtle, this one's up to you."
Just as Ash finished speaking, Squirtle emerged from its Luxury Ball, using its shell to block Dodrio's attack.
"Squirtle!"
Watching Dodrio attack its shell repeatedly, Squirtle appeared unfazed, even pointing at Dodrio, indicating where to poke more.
Seeing his Dodrio unable to land any hits, the thug leader shouted, "Dodrio! Use Tri Attack!"
"Wow!"
Upon hearing the command, each head of Dodrio unleashed a different elemental attack toward Squirtle.
"Squirtle, use Protect and then jump on its back."
"Squirtle!"
As a water shield formed around Squirtle, Dodrio's Tri Attack hit successfully but didn't penetrate Squirtle's shield. Thanks to the water barrier, the special effects of Dodrio's attacks also fizzled out. Squirtle then leaped onto Dodrio's back while it was dazed from hitting the shield.
"Bite!"
"Squirtle!" No problem! Drumsticks, here I come!)
With a mischievous grin, Squirtle bit down on one of Dodrio's heads.

As one head of Dodrio screamed in agony, the other two heads became chaotic. The thug leader couldn't even react, seeing his Dodrio being bitten.
"Hey! Why the hell does your Squirtle have a biting move?!"
Ash looked sincerely at the thug leader and replied, "My Squirtle just loves drumsticks!"
"Uh-oh! Dodrio!"
By the time the thug leader reacted, Squirtle was already gnawing on Dodrio's head like it was a drumstick, drool running from its mouth all over Dodrio's face.
"Squirtle! (Not tasty enough, but I'll manage…)"
"Stop it! No, stop! My Dodrio isn't a drumstick! Dodrio, use your other heads to do something!"
"Wow!"
Although the thug leader shouted, the other two heads were also being restrained by Squirtle, leaving them unable to counterattack.
Finally, forced by the circumstances, the thug leader had no choice but to call back his Dodrio.
"Damn it… who's the bad guy now? Hey! What do you mean by that?!"
As the thug leader grumbled, he noticed Squirtle had turned to face him, sticking its rear in the air and repeatedly patting its bottom to taunt him.
