Blood and snow mixed under their boots as they reclaimed the frozen ground. The sky hung grey and lifeless, but the soldiers' hearts burned bright. After days of fighting, the demon army was finally driven back across the border, retreating to the base of their dark fortress.
The four passages of the northern, eastern, western, and southern routes—were now firmly under human control. The soldiers could finally move freely across the war-torn lands without fear of ambush.
The camp roared with cheers and laughter as the soldiers celebrated their long-awaited victory. The morale of the human army was at an all-time high.
However, not everyone shared that joy.
"This isn't making sense..." Kael muttered quietly, chewing on his lower lip. His brows furrowed deeply as he stared at the map spread before him.
