Chapter One
Evelyn's POV
The doors closed behind me as I stepped out of the car. A soft sigh escaped my lips as I looked up at the tall building in front of me. My father would kill me if he knew what I was doing but I just have to do this.
Taking a deep breath, I walked into the building, walking straight to the reception desk. "H-hi… I am Evelyn and I'm here for my appointment with Sir Jeffers."
The receptionist glanced up at me briefly before turning her eyes back to her system. I swallowed, twiddling my fingers, resisting the urge to look around nervously.
"Evelyn Holt, 2 p.m. appointment," she confirmed at last, handing me a visitor's card. "You're to go to the art room as you both arranged."
"Thank you." I smiled at her, heading towards my destination.
