Chapter 131 - Discussion on Magic formation

Arizona and Aria, along with Rei, returned to the tent. While Rei continued his study of magic formations, Aria and Arizona spoke.

"Wait, so you're telling me multiple elemental integration is possible?" Aria asked. "But we were the ones who defined why it isn't possible."

"Yes," Arizona confirmed. "But with Rei's new magic formation, I understood that it is. Look, I've created a new magic formation called Quagmire. It uses the two elements of water and earth to create mud beneath enemies' feet to stall them." Aria examined the formation. It was far more complex than any she had ever seen. "This is a two-attribute formation?" she asked. "Then why didn't you publish any journals documenting it?"

"I didn't publish any journals because we are using it as one of the trump cards for our organization, the Revolutionaries," Arizona explained. "If I were to publish it, I would have to eventually give out how it is made, which isn't possible."

Aria nodded in understanding. "So, did you make a magic formation of the Lightning-Powered Fire Storm too?"

"No, I'm still in the middle of it," Arizona replied. "However, I created a weak version of it, Lightning-Powered Fire Spin. Take a look." Arizona showed her the new formation. It was even more complex than the Quagmire formation, almost incomprehensible.

"If multiple-attribute magic formations are possible now, then my dream is possible too!" Aria exclaimed.

"Yes, it is possible," Arizona said. "I've seen it. Our theory on the limit of magic formation, that its power cannot be increased after a certain point, is invalid too. If we combine all the attributes, we can create a grand magic formation." Aria's dream was to create a magic formation containing grand magic. Working with Arizona, she had discovered a limit to the power that could be exerted, leading them to write a book on the subject. But with multiple-attribute formations now possible, her dream seemed within reach again.

"Now I realize how much of a fool I was," Aria said with a newfound determination. "After my dream of making a grand magic formation was destroyed, I gave up and settled here. I didn't even bother to study magic formations anymore, whereas you continued honing your skills until you surpassed me, even in magic formations. However, now I will start again, and I will surpass you once more."

"Sure," Arizona said with a smile. "How about you join us in the Revolutionaries? It will help us a lot if we had someone who could make magic formations for us."

"Sure, then I will join the Revolutionaries," Aria said. "And I would start by learning this Quagmire magic formation. Rei, thanks for making my dream possible." Rei, who had been studying, looked up at Aria. She then took out several books. "You can have all of these," she told him. "Each volume contains my theories about learning magic formations and all the findings I made during this period. With these, you can study even after I go."

"Sure, then," Rei said.

After Aria and Arizona talked about Quagmire for some time, Rei stood up. "Arizona, it's time for us to go to the noble now."

"Oh yeah, okay," Arizona said, remembering the task. "Let me bring in the others."

"Sure," Rei replied.

"Can I join too?" Aria asked.

"Sure, you can join too," Rei said. As Rei walked out of Aria's camp and went to the Midgard, Arizona called Levi and Alya. It was Aria's first time on the Midgard, and she was surprised by its design. She then looked at Alya. "Alya, it's so nice to meet you."

"You too, Aria," Alya said. "How are your studies on magic formation coming along?"

"I was on a long break, but now I'm going to start again," Aria replied.

"Okay, everyone, let's go," Arizona said.

Rei, along with Arizona, Alya, Levi, and Aria, went towards the noble's camp. Upon reaching it, they went inside. "Please tell him that Arizona Wilson has come to see him," Arizona told a guard. The guard went inside, then came out. "You are allowed to go in."

Arizona, Alya, Levi, Aria, and Rei went inside. "Nice to meet you, Mr. Silas," Arizona said to Noble Silas.

"It is nice to meet you too, Mr. Arizona," Silas replied. "I have heard a lot about you as the best mage in the kingdom."

"I am just one of the bests, not the best right now," Arizona corrected him. "By the way, I am a very straightforward person, so I won't beat around the bush. Our organization, the Revolutionaries, wants to help you. It is led by Prince Ben, however, we too want something in return."

"You want me to join Prince Ben's Revolutionaries so when the time comes for the fight for the king's throne, I would be one of his allies," Silas said, understanding the situation. "Your timing is very good. Now that my town is so weak, an offer like this could become a matter of life or death for me." Silas understood that if the Revolutionaries attacked his now-destroyed town, he wouldn't stand a chance.

Arizona laughed. "That's just based on your response. Plus, you too have the advantage of killing us right now if you can." Although both were laughing, a tense undercurrent of threat loomed between them. Silas knew he had no choice but to agree. "Okay, then. I will take your offer and become part of the Revolutionaries."

Arizona smiled. "Looking forward to working with you. Now, if you'll excuse us, we'll leave." With that, Arizona, Aria, Alya, Levi, and Rei left. After returning to the Midgard, Arizona said, "Well, we have completed our work here. The help team will be arriving in a few days. After that, we will plan our future with him."

"Now we just have to go and meet the royal engineer," Levi said.

"Should we take the saint candidate from here too?" Alya asked.

"No need," Rei replied. "I will look after the saint candidate and take him someplace where he can get stronger. Right now, he possesses no power of his own."

"Is the saint candidate Eugene?" Aria asked. "What do you plan to do with him?"

"Currently, we need the help of his holy magic," Arizona explained. "However, he is not strong enough, so Rei will make him strong, and then he would fight with us."

Aria said, "That's understandable. Plus, having a saint candidate in the prince's team will help us." Arizona wanted to explain that it was not Prince Ben's team but Rei's team, but since Rei had said he wanted to stay in the shadows, he said nothing.

"We will leave tomorrow then," Rei said.
