Chapter 125 - Dungeon Outbreak

Rei, perched atop a building, launched himself into the air using a wind bomb. Back in her room, Aria suddenly found Rei sitting on a chair, holding his Chaos Scepter and looking directly at her. Startled, Aria quickly produced an attack magic formation and pointed it at him. "What are you doing here?" she demanded.

"Aria," Rei said calmly, "a dungeon outbreak is going to happen in a few days. Take your magic formations and go away, otherwise you won't live to see another day." Suddenly, a gust of wind swept through the room, causing the curtains to billow and briefly obscure Rei. In that instant, he vanished. Aria rushed to the window and saw that Rei was no longer there.

Rei, now standing on her building's rooftop, used a wind bomb to leap into the air, heading towards the Midgard. As he approached, he saw Bart and Eugene practicing nearby. "Bart, Eugene," Rei called out, "if you have anyone dear to you, tell them to evacuate because a dungeon outbreak is going to happen."

"Dungeon outbreak?" Bart questioned. "But it's way too rare! I don't think anything like that would happen."

"Believe it or not, it is going to happen," Rei insisted, his expression serious. Bart, seeing Rei's determined face, understood he wasn't joking. "Okay then, I need to tell Sans!" Bart immediately ran off without waiting for Eugene.

Eugene said, "I need to tell Aria."

"Don't worry, I told her already," Rei assured him.

Meanwhile, Aria, now in front of the dungeon, used a magic circle to verify Rei's claim. A fireball shot from the magic circle towards the dungeon entrance. As it pierced the darkness and illuminated the interior, numerous monsters could be seen. Aria immediately turned and fled, completely terrified.

Bart arrived at the restaurant. "Sans, everyone, a dungeon outbreak is going to happen soon!" he yelled. Sans and his workers scoffed. "What do you mean, boy? Don't say such words."

"I am not joking!" Bart insisted. Sans looked at Bart's determined face and sighed. "Fine, let's go to Aria and check if it's true," he said.

Sans and Bart went to Aria's shop, where she had already begun packing. "What are you doing, girl?" Sans asked.

"Sans, a dungeon outbreak is going to happen!" Aria exclaimed, her voice frantic. "Quick, we need to go!" Sans's eyes widened, and he quickly started packing his own things. Sans then told his friends, who told their friends, and this chain reaction soon spread the news of the dungeon outbreak throughout the civilian population.

As Rei watched from atop a building, he smiled and muttered to himself, "Everything is going my way. Just a small spark will turn into a heavy, raging storm if it has enough fuel. Let's see what the Hunters' Tower can do." Soon, Rei saw people from the Hunters' Tower attempting to calm the civilians, using false information to stop them from evacuating. However, the civilians knew better what happened when a dungeon was on the verge of an outbreak.

After three days, everyone had evacuated. Rei then went to the Hunters' Tower. During this time, Rei had instructed the Hunters' Tower staff to create evacuation shelters outside and build barriers in front of the dungeon. Now, hunters from nearby towns were also arriving. Rei placed his Midgard strategically. He noticed that Tenko had been unusually sleepy ever since they returned from the dungeon, but Rei didn't pay much attention to it.

"Just last four days, then they will come here," Rei muttered, referring to Levi and his group. However, Rei was unaware that the help he expected was currently busy fighting a multitude of wild beasts.

Rei used the Midgard to travel outside into the jungle. Once deep within, he used his wind bomb to jump high. When he spotted some wild beasts, he used his Chaos scepter and captured them using wind chains, binding every one he encountered. After gathering more than a dozen beasts, Rei smiled, then transported them into the town and secured them within a rock cage. He decided to use these captured beasts if the dungeon monsters overwhelmed them. Every day, poison gas, holy magic, poison magic, and sleep gas were sent into the dungeon, but they seemed to have no effect.

As a week passed, Rei woke up. "Wow, you're awake, Tenko! What happened to sleeping in?" Rei said playfully. Tenko barked cheerfully and jumped onto Rei's shoulder.

"Let's go and check how far Levi and his group are," Rei suggested. He jumped using a wind bomb, propelling himself higher and higher. As he peered into the distance, he saw a cart similar to his Midgard. However, it was incredibly far away, and numerous wild beasts were attacking it. "What? What's happening?" Rei exclaimed. "Why are so many wild beasts attacking it, and why are they so far? It would take them 1 more day to come here! We don't have enough time!" Rei used his wind bomb to propel himself downwards, landing atop a building. "I have to do something if I need to make my plan a success," he declared.

Suddenly, a massive blast erupted, and many monsters, far too large for any human to handle alone, surged out of the dungeon. The hunters in the town prepared themselves for battle. "It's my turn," Rei said. With that, Rei used his Chaos Scepter to kill the wild beasts he had previously prepared.

During this time, Athena, watching from her divine realm, spoke aloud. "You really made a good plan, Rei, putting all the wild beasts and the dungeon outbreak like that. As per my deductions, you wanted to use the wild beasts and dungeon outbreak to break the spirit of everyone, and then your men would come and save the day. Too bad I control the dungeon monsters here now!"

The dungeon monsters, hunters, and everyone controlled by Athena turned and moved towards Rei. Rei, suddenly noticing something unusual, turned to flee, but lightning suddenly enveloped him, sending him crashing to the floor. Tenko's Nyx Scepter began to become sentient, and Tenko started fighting against its influence. Amidst this chaos, a lone girl, whom Rei hadn't seen, entered through the main gate. It was Hanna.

"What will you do now, Rei?" Athena's voice echoed, a sinister triumph in her tone. Rei looked at everyone, then at Tenko, wondering what to do.
